Perhaps. I read somewhere that the Macronix "ROM" used by Nintendo is actually flash memory w/ a few security tweaks and modifications. I'd need to verify that, but if true, that could allow DLC to be stored on the card. And, of course, there's always SD.
This kind of "shooting the messenger" has only resulted in closing of several NX topics until now. I would really like people to stop doing this, it's shitty. You don't like the rumours, don't discuss about them, let the ones who want to discuss have a place where to do that.

Yeah this is far more akin to the controller Falco uses in the anime short. Overall it looks far more ergonomic than any other render.

Never liked Nintendo's d-pads, but always loved the DualShock d-pads. And Share button is cool. So this is all good news for me, the only thing I don't like are the asymmetrical analog sticks. Gross.

I think he means the controls being built in like any other handheld, but the ability to buy and use other controllers for it. (Like you can use other controllers but still play on the Wii U Gamepad).
I also don't see the appeal of detachable controllers that you'd only be using at home anyway.
I have no idea what this is.

1) The detached controllers are definitely designed for TV mode, although there's nothing stopping you from propping up the portable on a desk or table like a tablet and using the controllers to play on it that way.
2) It would mean Nintendo probably has lots of games planned that only need to use the inputs available on half the controller (2D games, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and Smash Bros. all fit this bill), but it doesn't preclude them from making games that demand more complex controls and require players to buy accessories for multiplayer.

It is inline with every other handheld/mobile offering on the market right now. Not sure why you'd expect any different, to be honest.
I actually wonder if the integrated 32GB will even be accessible to users. If both dock and handheld can have their own storage media, they might reserve the internal memory to make sure that "game swapping" is always possible.
Example: You play a game you downloaded to an HDD attached to the dock, but the SD card inside of the main body ran out of space. To make sure the seamless switch from TV to portable is always possible (which I assume will be [one of] the main selling point of the system), the NX could always be copying your current game to the main unit if it's not already installed there. Otherwise it could be quite a pain to always juggle games between dock and portable storage, which would go against the idea of the device.
Of course, this would be only an issue with digital games, but considering how omnipresent digital distribution is on all mobile devices, not taking this into account might be a mistake in the long run. Especially since even big SD cards will run out of space quickly if many games end up taking up between 10 and 30 GB (30GB was rumored to be the maximum size of NX carts, I believe).

Let me get this straight, if I understood the issue properly. Are you saying that in your country Nintendo devices are cheap but SD cards and external HDDs are expensive?
Because pretty much everywhere (else?) the opposite is true.

Nintendo devices aren't "cheap", but if you bundle a Wii U 32GB + a 500GB external hard drive it would cost more than a PS4 stock.
They had the Wii U already.

And you think that if Nintendo would bundle it by themselves would be cheaper for whatever reason, like Nintendo being generous and covering part of the costs.
Edit: I just had a look on amazon.de, Wii U 32GB + 500 GB costs more than a 500Gb PS4 here too. But that's on Wii U, because Nintendo doesn't care anymore about selling the Wii U.

That's why there is an SD card slot, just like on phones and most tablets. If you want more, buy the extra storage. I guess I don't get the complaining here. This isn't an outright slap in the face to consumers like Vita's ridiculous proprietary memory card prices or Nintendo's overpricing of the Wii U (unless, of course, it uses proprietary memory, but the 3DS shows they probably aren't going that route). It is the business model that most in the industry are following right now.

As long as they support upwards of 128 GB Cards (would like normal SD, not Micros) it should be no problem for digital buyers. Those going physical won't have any problems as games won't have to be installed either way.
If only people would stay on topic instead of celebrating ridiculous Twitter feuds.

The PS4 is more expensive than the Wii U on the US but the same don't happen here if I have to acoount for an external drive. I had to pay more for my WIi U than for my PS4.
To me they are very similar to be honest, if you want anything that can store more than a few games you will have to spend. Not talking about the US btw, prices there are much better.

Man, I've had a PS4 since DOOM and I still haven't even tried the share button. But I'm also one of those players that never even checks my trophies stuff so I imagine I'm way outside that target audience. Still, sometimes I'll look at the button and wonder what it's doing there.

1) Why would it be extremely stupid? They bundled two controllers with Famicom/NES, and most of their most popular games for "casual" players are already multiplayer games that can be played with just directional input + a couple face buttons + maybe motion control. Great idea to make multiplayer in these titles possible right out of the box.
2) People currently have to buy extra controllers just to play with two people. I don't see the problem.
A Wii U with an internal 500 GB hard drive would also be more expensive than a PS4.

Once you go higher than 128GB you'll enter Vita level of ridiculousness, though. $80 for a 200GB SD card is kinda ridiculous. SD is great when individual media only takes up a moderate amount of space, but when individual games are 10GB and bigger SD starts to become less than ideal. Not like there's any alternative to SD in the mobile space, though (and bigger cards will likely become cheaper as well over time).
Which is why it'll be interesting to see how big the average NX game will be.
I think you don't identify the issue properly. The issue is not the lack of a bigger HDD, the issue is the price of Wii U is not reflecting that. PS4 is more expensive than Wii U just by a small margin because Wii U is damn expensive (even in US the difference can be sometimes even as low as $25-$30).

Yeah that's what has me wondering. If they even want anything close to current 3rd party games, 10 GB is about the lowest you will find per game.
Then again, I don't expect much 3rd Party AAA support to begin with, so that's a non issue really.
It's becoming a sort-of-ritual now. Maybe we should create a thread on a (fabricated, of course) rumoured announcement date and get it closed, and then good things could happen!

You know, once I've heard of the Sharing button, I've thought of the Miiverse icon being on the Button, since one of the foundations Miiverse is built on is sharing. And the name "Wara Wara Button", suggested by John Tv on Twitter (pay attention, MyNintendoNews: this is only his thought on the matter, it's not something he actually knows, so do not make an article out of it, just for easy clicks. Interesting bet, though, could be close. I can easily imagine that screen size, amount of storage, separated Dpad and September reveal won't come true even if all of it might have been planned or was part of the devkits. Close to half! Gonna be interesting to see if Mihael will have to take the L.
