^yep,
Also anyone else kinda tired of seeing the same pig enemy?
I hope they show us more Zelda BoTW tomorrow at Nintendo Direct!
Breath of the Wild is Firewatch Gaiden.

lol poor guy![]()
Did you get tired of seeing the same pig enemies in every other zelda game?
Other Zeldas aren't Breath of the Wild. What we've been shown so far was Messing Around: The Game and messing around in a world is more fun when there's a lot of variety - enemies included.
You could see already different enemies in the trailer and I bet there will be a huge amount of different monsters in this one too. Maybe the great plateau belongs to these piggy things.
One, please name a Zelda game that didn't have good enemy variety. .
I can imagine someone trying to fly straight to the final boss doing that

Skyward Sword. The very last 3D one that came out.

Probably changing the wind direction will be one of the sheikah slate abilities.
It's more the spread that's the problem. A lot of these enemies are encountered only a few times while the game throws a metric fuckton of Bokoblins at you.
Exactly. Wind Waker actually has quite a few less, but SS feels like you only fight various colors of Bokoblins. The enemies that were really cool, you rarely ever see. And not having a Darknut is a freaking sin in a Zelda so focused on combat.
Would Darknuts have even made sense to be in SS considering its place in the timeline? It's not like there were a bunch of humanoids or Hylians fighting in fully armored garb back then.
lol it's a doberman.
Anyway, the humanoid half is only part of it. It's obvious that Darknuts hail from some traditional Medieval culture like Hyrule or another kingdom that would need armies of warriors decked out in metallic battle armor. But this kind of nation state wasn't established in SS yet. The last war that happened was the one between Hylia and Demise, and she just cobbled together a bunch of peaceful races as her army. The NPCs and humanoid monsters we see in the game have really shoddy, unorganized bits and pieces of weaponry and shields that don't hearken to any sort of well-run military.
It just doesn't seem like a setting where Darknuts would fit in easily, at least without a drastic redesign. If anything, I just would've littered the place with more Lizalfos if we needed to up the challenge factor because fuck those things.
Even if I am not sure this is the kind of Zelda I want (I still wait for more dungeon and puzzle solving footage) I admit it is amazing
If the canon was an issue they could have made them into badass robot guards that inhabit the time stone sections like they did Beamos and Armos. Or some kind of elite soldiers from Demise's reign reawakened. Or anything.
I don't think they're as strict about the canon as you're saying though.
I have never played a Zelda game before. Would I be able to jump into this game and understand what is happening?

You're just setting up yourself for disappointment.
Not really as I'm already disappointed for the "only 3DS" Direct and last NX rumors about it being essentially a tablet and not a family of products "like brothers" as Iwata stated, split D-pad and other weird controller deigns...we only can go up from here I guess
Anyway they usually talk a bit about Wii U in 3DS Directs and talk about 3DS in Wii U Directs so... who knows really. After all they're releasing new Zelda clips in Twitter and Facebook... It'd be nice if they show us a bit more of the Great Plateau... I'm not talking about a story trailer or anything like that...
You should be able to, yes. They're going to make this the ultimate jumping on point to try to get a larger Zelda audience, I think, and almost every prior Zelda has not been reliant on other Zelda games in order to understand what's happening. There are cool callbacks but you can follow almost every Zelda game's story with no issue as a new player.
Pretty much every Zelda game can be played without the knowledge of the other games. Even direct sequels like Phantom Hourglass and A Link Between Worlds are rather self contained (Though you get a lot out of playing the prequel games any way).
Pretty much every big mystery that the game brings up is likely to be concluded in this game alone.
Almost every game is standalone so no worries. There seem to be a lot more references that you might miss in this one though
Others have already responded, but if this mostly just supposed to be a commentary on the style of music BotW is using and saying it's not "music," consider giving this video a look. Though I understand if you don't like impressionism as it exists in music, it's still music. EDIT: The video I linked is the same as the one TheMoon posted.
WOW
that vid made me realize I know nothing about music.

If you missed the news, Andre has finally finished his Breath of the Wild analysis though it's not quite ready to be posted.

Direct on my own to give Andre the time he needed to finish. But with everything caught up, I'm taking a well-deserved nap.
Nice!!itshappening.gif
At first I was really excited about Andre's Zelda analysis, but 3 months after E3 I'm not sure if they can provide any new details in the old footage they have, there are pretty much countless analysis videos of the Great Plateu on the internet now and I would be very, very surprised if this analysis brings anything new and interesting to the table.
When did Gamexplain become poplar? I started watching analysis videos for the first time with their Zelda U analysis back in 2014.

This is going to be the greatest Zelda of all time, isn't it?
