If VR isn't enhanced on Neo, I may just nab the Slim and save on costs. We'll see Wednesday.

If Neo releases this November. Any chance of all the fall games supporting better graphics on Neo right off the bat. So let's say Neo releases end if October or early November can we expect COD, Battlefield and etc to have better graphics. I'm wondering about especially for games that have a marketing deal with MS such as Battlefield 1

what is with this thread where people just make up shit and for some reason attribute it to leaks?NEO is a big PSVR machine by the leaks, it should launch close to October 13th.
Which means that UC4 MP will make the jump to 1080p60 easily, but what about UC4 SP? It's already CPU-bound with a few frame drops (>33.33ms CPU frame time) in some areas. Why do people keep saying this? We have games at 900p/60fps, which is obviously a desired feature. Nobody is saying every game will have a Neo mode.

Don't worry. I am sure it will. Didn't the first rumours speak about the reason for an overpowered PS4 is to enhance VR as main goal?
It's all up to the developer/publisher, CoD probably will be upgraded due to the partnership.
I would be there day 1 if it does beef up the experience. Gaming for me is definitely with VR and having better graphics would make me definitely buy Neo.
1080p is mandatory for Neo. So BF1 will definitely look better on Neo.
yeah but I'm sure he was talking about upgrades beyond that

Well the same interview people refer to regarding Sony doing an apple style reveal/release for the Neo actually mentions that they felt in hindsight that it was not a good move to announce the PS4 without showing off the box itself and that they need to adapt to expectations of the tech market (short time from reveal to release, showing off the box etc).If I remember those meetings happened at the beginning of the year (around February iirc). I remember how many were surprised (angry to be more exact) about Sony to reveal the PS4 but not show the console itself. This the first time it happens in such month. I hope they won't be toying with us with all the leaked designs then they won't reveal the console itself (I mean only talk about the specs like they did in the PS Meeting of 2013), but wait for PSX to show it and announce the price.
All PSVR games are PS4 games. All PS4 games will have to ship with a Neo mode starting from October. I have no doubt in my mind that VR games will benefit from the Neo, and I feel that devs for VR games may even be more inclined to use the power from Neo more effectively than devs for non-VR games.I would be there day 1 if it does beef up the experience. Only Dice's Battlefield and Battlefront games this gen run at 900p 60 by default, because the game was built for 60fps. You could get 1080p 30, but that wasn't the intent when developing the game.
That says nothing about what the upclock of the CPU will allow for NEO compared to PS4.
Time to offload the OG PS4 boys, value is gonna tank if it hasnt already...

If the Neo really is intended for release holiday 2016, shouldn't a lot of developers already have Neo dev-kits?
And if so, wouldn't the specs have leaked ages ago?

Did you try PS VR? Is it the graphics you don't like or that it is not fluid enough on regular PS4 that you want a better experience on Neo?

If Neo is designed as I'm thinking it will be designed with the PS4 APU as the CPU & Co-processors it shouldn't really matter if the game was CPU or GPU bound on PS4 because Sony could reconfig the HWS with microcode to create virtual specialized co-processors for different tasks.

Where have you been?

Yes, though some studios got them very late as in very recently.

Would really like to see an updated mock based on these new drawings. The popular one that was floating around here was close but in this drawing, the tiers aren't as thick. Plus they're sharp angles like the OG PS4. Come on Photoshop-GAF...you know you want to!
Presumably because they don't have games coming out this year?
Someone will. Just not as much as if it was in good condition. You could get a replacement drive and redo the thermal compound, tooSadly, no one is going to buy a jet engine with a broken disc drive so I'm screwed.
Yep I'm assuming Sony prioritized teams with games releasing this year for the first dev kits. This is no insider info I'm claiming or anything like that, I just know one dev at a major studio working on a 2017 game that just recently got dev kits.
That's all I know though and not trying to pass as an insider. Was just a random tidbit, which most probably assumed anyways.

What's all this power brick talk?
Nonsense.
The most credible information points to the Neo having a bigger internal PSU, utilising one of the three-pin 'kettle' cables like the original PS3.

Lastest drawing from Foxconn artist.
While I don't mind the design based off some of the higher quality mockups that were made, I would much rather it look closer to the original rather than the slim.I'm hoping the Foxconn guy is wrong.... I'm not sure I like the sandwich design.
So altogether, the leaks have been:
1: 4.2 or 5.5 teraflop machine being discussed
2: leaked docs with 4.2tf and upscaling techniques for 4K
3: final Dev kits not till the 7th, closer to Scorpio specs possible
That's it right? What's all this power brick talk?
Where did number 3 come from? The presentation leak had final spec prototype kits (even if not absolutely final in other ways) starting to ship in April/may.
I only see 2 pins here though!
