Why not make a lighting to lightning/aux splitter cable? That would essentially do the same thing right?
Magic Mouse is trash anyway so it's one more reason not to buy it.That one of the mouse port being on the bottom has got me. I mean, who on earth signed that off?
That's surely coming from third parties. Apple is likely done touching 3.5mm in their premium mobile stuff. This dock is old.Why not make a lighting to lightning/aux splitter cable? That would essentially do the same thing right?
What a piece of shit.

My guess, they didn't put it at the back because people would have left it wired in and not used it as a wireless mouse.
What're you guys doing to your lightning cables? Learn proper cable management and they won't break or fray
You seriously believe this? lol
If you search online you will always find people with problems with product X or Y, but past a certain a point, it's a problem with the product. It's super, super common to see busted iPhone chargers.Yeah I've never had a cable fray and I've been using my iPhone 5 one the most
I've had one in my car for a few years too. Alive and well

I love threads where nearly 100% of the first 50 posts are people shitting all over Apple's overpriced badly designed idiot crap. Every time I see an announcement for new Apple products, all I see are hassles to using hardware and programs that are easily used on other systems and cost less money.
So, a genuine question here: Why is Apple still in business?
Wait this is old but people are still piling on like it's a created soluion by Apple?

Most who freaked out at "bend gate" but who are chill with the 6 page long tread about exploding Note 7s?
Yeah, I don't care about outrage when the overall trend is toward affordable blutooth earphones.

They created the problem, whether the solution was created after the fact or not is largely irrelevant.

Maybe because it's not a non issue? This complete non-issue is really bringing out the stupid in people huh?
lmao
what the fuck is wrong with apple?
They made a solution that solved a problem they wouldn't have for two years.
Right now I can charge my phone, and listen to a podcast with headphones, at no additional cost. With the iPhone 7 I can do that after paying an additional fee. What the fuck does it matter if their solution was a product they already made? They made a solution that solved a problem they wouldn't have for two years.
Certainly kills the whole we're making the device smaller thing.Shit like this is why we're all doomed to wear cargo shorts.
Because most of the people pitching a fit will get used to it eventually. This same thing happened when Apple said their phone would use a virtual keyboard, or when they said they were removing the DVD drive on their new laptop.
For some people this will be an inconvenience. For most people though it will be a non-issue. Apple very clearly designs their products for their vision of where we are going, not where we are right now.
No, they made the problem, the fact that they can squeeze further profit (by making the costumer shell out more money) from a pre-existing product line is the icing on the cake. Kind of like a diaper company that decides to start selling condoms with holes in them.

The actual solution given is AirPods. That's right up front. Then it's pointed out that it's possible to do it another way that already exists. I bet if you looked around you could find even more ways.
So... if I get it right, Apple removed the "ancient" jack 3.5mm port... to have a huge ass adapter.
I still just cannot believe that the mouse and Apple Pencil charging methods are the real actual way to recharge those products that exist for sale to human beings.
It's by far the stupidest method I've ever seen in any electronic that recharges ever.
In this thread, people think Apple created this dock for iPhone 7 despite it existing with the same exact functions for a long ass time and in previous generations
the mouse charger is honestly not at all a big deal. it takes a few minutes to charge it enough for a days use or a few hours for months
No, they just happen to have a solution for lunatics that inexplicably want to charge their phone and also listen to audio at the same time.
It's an easy solution to make sure that people don't try to use the Pencil or Magic Mouse while charging, because you really would never need to. Both can be charged to a useable state in literal minutes (if not seconds in the case of the Pencil specifically).
