2016 NFL Season OT - Week Two - The Dream is Dead

The Packers offense has looked like shit in the first two games, their secondary couldn't stop a college team right now, Aaron Rodgers got out played by Sam Bradford, and people also need to remember that the Packers looked pretty pedestrian the second half of last season and pretty much backed into the playoffs.

Backed into the playoffs where we dismantled a red hot Redskins team on the road and took the Cardinals to OT and lost another heart breaker. I'm not panicking and no one else should either. So much time left to correct the shit that isn't working. I think our defense actually played pretty well tonight so I feel optimistic. Bradford made some really good throws out there.

Tonight was going to be tough against the division champs, opening up their brand new stadium against their main rival right now. It was a close game. We made some seriously stupid play calls and Rodgers sucked tonight but he'll be back. The Vikings have a top 5 defense easily and Bradford played a hell of a game that came out of nowhere. I still think we have a super bowl caliber team.

McCarthy shouldve been fired as soon as that Seahawk game happened. That was the most pathetic coaching job ive watched since Mike Sherman's 4th and 26 game

This offense and defense are fucking soft. We've been coasting for so long.

Mike McCarthy is basically Andy Reid, and fuck Andy Reid

FIRE MIKE MCCARTHY

You are very selectively forgetting a lot of the second half of the Packers season last year where they were pretty much a .500 team.

Oh god why did you have to remind me of the 4th and 26 game. The game that would have been over had Sherman grown a set and went for a 4th and 1 not long before that.

hello, friends

I hope everyone is having a great night!

This team hass been coasting so much the past few years. Yeah, they somewhat get into gear into the playoffs, but man, I want homefield advantage

McCarthy got outcoached tonight

FIRE MIKE MCCARTHY

A greedy mistake on 4th-1, an ugly performance from the offense and a weak PI call to seal the game and the Packers lost by 3 points.

OMG PACKERS SUCK AND THE VIKINGS ARE GODS

Im watching McCarthy right now and he just sounds like Andy Reid

Fuck Mike McCarthy, im sick and tired of getting outcoached. Find a way to get harbaugh

We were definitely shit on offense for most of the second half of the season, but in the playoffs we did a lot better for not having Jordy out there.

Rodgers played bad tonight no doubt, made a lot of bad throws. Worst game of his probably since the Bronco game. He's going to get it together. We get those fuckers at home and we'll get them the next time around.

I do legitimately believe the Packers would benefit from a coaching shake up though. Dom Capers is basically the Jeff Fisher of defensive coordinators and McCarthy is just an overrated coach. I also think McCarthy has become complacent.

That motherfuckin seat should've been hotter than every Browns HC in the last 20 years after Seattle

After last season, his seat damn well better be hot

Maybe it's just because Wisconsin sports teams don't get the same media attention as other teams, but I'm really surprised McCarthy hasn't gotten scrutinized more by the national sports media for some of the really questionable shit that he gets away with.

The Packers haven't looked good so far. Barely beating the Jaguars, blowing it against the Vikings. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 6-10 if they don't wake their asses up.

Local sports talk radio is useless in this city. The Milwaukee market at least has legitimately the worst people ive ever listened to in my life. A lot of the pressure put onto organizations is from the media, and our media is shit. Simple as that.

Most Packer fans are pretty complacent about the team anyway. As someone from Philly, the fans here like the team a lot more, but the fans aren't nearly as passionate about it as Eagles fans were. That's how AJ Hawk stays on the defense for so long (FUCK AJ HAWK)

I like McCarthy, but his scheme has been figured out. There's enough of a sample size to see that now. Good coaches change up their scheme to adjust, but McCarthy seems incapable of it

Our teams needs to simplify. I- formation, screen, slants, running actually not gimmicky runs.

I'm also calling this right now - the Cowboys are going to walk into Lambeau on Oct 16 and put a whooping on the Packers.
  • Fresh young QB with no tape on him.
  • Mobile quarterback.
  • Dallas offensive line will probably neutralize the Packers defensive line, their only good spot on defense
This shit right here is the perfect storm of all of the things that have given the Packers fits for years.

Also, who on that Offense has gotten better. Nelson I can give a break too, but Lacy, Cobb, Rodgers, and a few others are just playing like shit right now. Part of the Coach's job is making sure his players dont play like ass. We know Rodgers and Cobb shouldn't be regressing. Adams is not learning how to catch (compare that too Jones who was actually developed) The developement outside the o-line has been terrible.

Clay is gonna get shaken outta his cleats by Dak

He legit did look great.

17 points against a Packers team who had been shitting the bed on offense all game

Bradford had some good passes, but he also got sacked about 5 billion times when he couldve thrown the ball away.

Stefon Diggs did look great though (and I cut him last week in fantasy too)

I actually disagree with this part. The Packers need to go back to big spread offenses with 4 or 5 wide outs and use the pass to set up the run. The Packers offense slowly started to regress once McCarthy tried to shift them into a run-first offense. Last year, and even in the Vikings game tonight, their best offensive output came when they were doing fast pace no-huddle formations with 4 receiver spreads. That's the formula that led the Packers to a 15-1 regular season despite having one of the worst statistical defenses in history.

Their wideouts suck too much too run 4-5 of them. Those years we had Driver, Finley, Nelson, Cobb and Jones.

Right now we have Cobb and Nelson,Cobb has regressed and Nelson has tremendously regressed as well. Adams is decent, Montgomery, Abby, Janis all can't get open, they fucking suck ass.

2 of our best players are Rodgers and Cook (which is sad, but true), and Lacy works really well when he hits holes very fast. You have a FB whos apparently good enough to supplant Kuhn. We don't need bad players on the field. I'd rather have Cook on the field then one of our awful wideouts.

Friends, I think I have a caffeine addiction that's outta control. Headache every morning before my first coffee
no, not hungover :-P

Anyone know how to get it under control? Don't wanna go cold turkey.

I'm sorry, Greg :-(

Bedard said he has to watch the tape but it seemed to him GB is having the same problems as last year. Their WRs couldn't beat man coverage.

Cut down gradually, go down to 2 cups of coffee a day, then 1 a day, etc. Get yourself down to some tea after that if you want to dial it back. Probably helps to have some painkillers in the mean time.

They don't win that game with Hill or Sanchez or Gabbert or any of the other nonsense tossed around. I'm not sure it was worth it, but for one game, it paid off in a win
Yep none of those others guys make that td throw. Sam came up so fucking huge. Can't wait until he has time to get some chemistry with the receivers.

I think they absolutely have the wide receiver talent to run that offense. Nelson is basically playing without a preseason (and most of the starters had a minimal one). I think its too early to say he's lost a step. Montgomery, Abby, and Janis don't get enough playing time right now to really say they aren't consistently getting open. Abbrederis and Janis didn't have much of a problem getting open in the Cardinal playoff game and both of them in that game played like starters (they were the reason the Packers stayed in that game). Cook feels like he's being under utilized so far but I think he easily has potential to be better than Finley was (Finley was always more potential than realized talent). Cobb has been respectable so far. The only wide receiver on the Packers offense who should be riding the bench is Adams.

Fuckin LOL

Seeing Packers fans mumbling their way through excuses is the salt I love tasting.

Fuck you. North is no longer yours. See you in 10-20 years when you win another QB lottery.

-Signed a drunk Viking fan with no shame ;)
