Niners game thoughts -
- Our safeties look slow to the ball, Reid was decent but Bethea had a terrible, terrible game. Missed assignments all over the place and just really slow. Pretty much everyone on defense aside from the D-line and Jimmy Ward had awful games. No pressure was generated, and we bring a ton of blitzes from the secondary. Cam carved us up all game. Jim O'Neil is a terrible coordinator.
- Offensively I thought we were decent, especially while not getting anything from the running game. Hyde needs to hit holes quicker and stop dancing. He's a big dude and can break tackles with a full head of steam. Receivers still look like garbage. We don't use our TE's enough, Vance needs to get more involved and at least 6 targets a game. Lot of talent, just never the opportunities.
I thought we played a decent game, and that last drive the Panthers went on to make it a 2 score game was a backbreaker. Then Gabbo started throwing picks like his name was Cutler, so the end score is skewed a little bit. I wanted to be competitive and we were, that's an improvement from last year. Starting to see some new wrinkles from Chip, too. If Gabbert has another 2nd half like this I think we see Kap sooner rather than later.

Only downside to being here has been some of the one and done "Fire X" or that kind of thing but I'm fine with the standard OT thread over community.

Watching that game I cant believe Chip didnt pull the plug on Blaine. He made some nice plays but he also had some absolute killers. The 9ers D looked so bad because they were literally triple covering Benjamin at times. No defense can function like that. There only hope was for the rush to get their quicker, Cam was just chucking it up and KB would snatch it out of the air with 3 dudes on him. He totally looked like prime Megatron out there.

Rashad Jennings is also dealing with a hand injury. He'll be limited on Wednesday.
Beatty and Hart will compete to start at RT. It would be swell if Beatty ends up being an upgrade and locks down RT for the year until we can address the position in the draft or FA.
