Landry Jones beat the Cards last year, too. Feels like Steelers are another team who are able to buckle some wins w/ out their starter in there. Helps when each team has had very good defenses for over the past decade.

Steelers went 3-1 with Dennis Dixon the year of Ben's suspension.

These game don't make the Asterisks look good as much as they make other teams look bad. Cards should never have lost that opening day game. Lolphins, and Texans are clear pretenders who need Watt healthy to have any semblance of a defense.

lol @ the haters...when Brady is at his best and dominating they say Bill Belichick is overrated and has done nothing without goat Brady...when Brady is out and the Pats have success they say BB is the best and Brady is just a system qb.

Just accept that they are both arguably the best qb and coach of all time and move on.
BB is good but will never top Lombardi due to the cheating scandals.

Same with Brady and Peyton.

I can't call them the greatest at their craft when both of their careers have been littered with cheating allegations. Then McDaniels leaves the nest and finds himself in a scandal as well. No thanks.

15-5 after next week.

Which is identical to their winning percentage with the "best qb of all time". Also the only qb that I have known to be suspended for cheating.

Numbers and facts. Sorry they don't fit the narrative.

Where do they find the audacity to cheat and lie and keep getting away with it? I don't know. Believe me. I just don't know.

Belichick is the best coach I've seen during my time watching the NFL even if he leads an organisation of cheating cunts. It's not even the fake Owls they pretend to have, it's the way their players always do the right thing because they've been prepared for every eventuality.

It's a shame that he's been forced to cheat in order to 'win' anything with Brady because the guy should have won a legit Lombardi Trophy or three by now.

That's the thing, BB is a good coach, and Brady is a good QB. They may have been successful without cheating. We just dont know.

Fuck the Pats.

Sad!

I don't want to live in a world where the Patriots win the four games they don't have Brady. It just goes further to prove there is no justice in the world and cheaters get it all.

So I was taking a gander at this thread after the Patriots put an absolute whooping on the Texans and crushed Patriot hater dreams, and I saw posts trying to frame this 3-0 start as a referendum on Brady and how he's a product of the system and not the best quarterback to play the game.

And before I get into that, I just want to mention that it's funny that even presented with scientific evidence, even shown that there's no actual proof of any deflation scheming, people who dislike the Patriots just cover their ears like children and yell "nah, nah, nah" and continue to harp on the fact they are guilty. I have seen people say their guilt is proven due to Brady being out the 4 games, even though innocent people get punished all the time. I have seen people mention texts regarding deflation, texts that did not ask for balls to be deflated and were actually sent regarding balls being overinflated in a New York Jets game the Pats played. There's just no proof, and to a logical person without bias this whole deflate gate thing was a witch hunt and there's absolutely nothing that points to Brady being behind deflated footballs. I mention this point because it's a funny comparison to Trump supporters, whom we all seem to dislike here. It's a comparison in that no matter how many facts you present a Trump supporter, their allegiance to that candidate will not waiver, and we all agree how stupid that makes them. So what's so different in this case? Just a funny thing I've noticed here at neogaf, people harping on injustice and against bigoted Trump supporters, but not applying that same logic to this deflate game nonsense.

As far as this UNDEFEATED! start to the season for the Patriots somehow tarnishing Brady's legacy or showing that he's a system QB? Give me a fucking break. This is the most ridiculous BS I've read on here, and it needs to be squashed. Do you think Brissett would have this team in the playoffs if he were to start all year? Do you think the gameplan implemented on the Texans would work for more games than just that one last night? Didn't the Dolphins popularize the wildcat for a while? Sure it worked for some time, but teams caught on and put an end to it and now it's no longer very successful when teams try to run it.

I make the Dolphin point because if Brissett or Jimmy were the starting QB for this team, for a longer period then just a few games, coaches would have tangible tape on them to scheme around. You can't say that a QB coming in on a short week and winning a game when there's really no tape on him and they really just ran option and run plays, you can't say that something like that shows New England as a system QB team. You just can't. And Jimmy G has been great, but would that be sustained throughout the year? Would he put up the points and stats that Brady does? Yes the team still wins despite injuries, despite being down to the third string QB, but that's because the team has the best coach and the best discipline in the league to handle something like this.

Brady has put up his numbers, won his superbowls, and consistently been a top 5 QB in this league since he took over. He's done this with receivers that weren't stars, he's done this with receivers that are stars. He's gone through different offense philosophies based on the talent he had to work with. We've seen dink and dunk, we've seen air it out, we've seen a mix of those as well as a good run game. He can mold to whatever the team needs in order to put up points on the opposing defense, he has brought this team back in the playoffs game as recently as the superbowl win a couple years ago against the Ravens and then against the Seahawks.

So yeah, get that system QB garbage out of here. Anyone that calls Brady a system-QB or states that this 3-0 start somehow tarnishes his legacy are just mad that this team didn't shit the bed to start the year. Brady's about to add another superbowl to his legacy, and I'm sure that'll create even more tears and temper tantrums.

I can't believe people are trying to talk down Brady's ability lol. I hate the Patriots. I hate Bill. I hate Brady. They've forever tarnished themselves with cheating allegations. But to deny the fact that Brady is one of the best to ever play and claim that he's a system QB is obscene.

If it weren't for cheating, I'd probably hold them in much higher regard. But you're kidding yourself if you think they aren't some of the best to ever do this thing.

Good morning cruel world. Fuck what an embarrassment last night. Bottomline this team is not mentally tough, never has been, and I don't know when it will be.

But take any of these players and put them on the Pats, and they automatically will be.

"Hey, I'm on the Pats now..I can't lose!"

It's real thing man. Good coaches make you believe. On to the next team that can beat them.

I will add, I'm still confident in the Texans. They laid a real big egg but, in my opinion, their weapons are too good to not perform well over and over. Just tell Brock to throw to Hopkins more and the offense improves. He was not targeted near enough last night.

You guys played like cowards.

The Pats never deserve to win but the Texans definitely deserved to lose.

Hopefully the Texans can continue to give us free nuggets but they also need to clean up their play if we want a free monster taco to go along with it.

But seriously the team craps the bed during prime time games. Bob looked completely lost during the half time interview, and the story about Lechler telling him if he's going to challenge the non fumble (for 8 yards!?) he has to do it now is rediculous. The overly conservative play calling didn't help either. Seriously it was a run on every first down.

And Edelman looks much tougher than any Texans player.

Fucking Bob.

"Wow Arian Foster is killing it in this Cowboys game. ....Let's pass!"

Literally no one has ever said that.

Literally no one has ever said that.

That's not true at all. People always say that. Now the narrative has shifted to Brady being good because Bill. Even though games with Brady playing are over 200 and games without him are 19 total, 13-6 record. But I guess they're comparable.

Edit: 254 games, 194 wins for Brady to clarify.

But for real, why did they run on a 3rd and 8 in the 1st quarter? That's the kind of shit that kills you as a fan.
It worked once on like 3rd and 5. That is literally my dad's favorite thing in football, when a coach runs it on 3rd and long and gets a first down.

Other than to please my dad the only explanation for it is that they are scared ass pussies. They couldn't handle the dim lights of TNF or the pressure of being 3-0 and running away with the division in September.

That said you should always look for the positive in anything. And last night proved beyond a reasonable degree of doubt that the Pats are filthy racists, cheaters and that Brady is a sham system qb that couldn't even win the starting job at Michigan without help.

"People" say that?

:lol

The only people who ever said that are the ones who are insane diehard/lifelong (since 2004) Pats fans who also like to spend a lot of time talking about how handsome Tom Brady is. This comes from the typical Boston insecurity when people were saying that Tom won but Peyton was better (going back to the magical day when they become Pats fans well over 10 years ago). As expected, they overcompensated and spent the next 10 years trying to paint him as the next Joe Montana. When in fact, Ben Johnson is probably a more accurate comparison....

This is a fair statement. I have always prided myself on giving Brady every ounce of credit that he's due but unfortunately as a man of science with an appreciation for fact-based arguments it's difficult for me to dispute anything you've said. Tom owes Bill literally everything, it seems.

I wish Tom had been playing against the Dolphins last week... :(
