My mind is fucking blown right now.

My sister thinks Trump was fantastic in the debate, solely due to him going after Hilary's record on foreign policy, her stint as SoS and the role she played (???) in the rise of Islamic extremism.

She rationalizes her choice by assuming Trump will keep his fuckery contained to a domestic level and refrain from engaging on the international stage and fucking up like Hilary did (???) in the ME.

This a university student in Finance, with a stellar academic and community-volunteer record, yet she says she'd support Trump. We're Muslim too.

I just wanted to vent...

Logic is a myth. Reason is a dream. We are all of us a screaming ball of rock and meat, hurtling pointlessly through the eternal void of space.

Someone stop this ride. I want off.

Your sister thinks Trump will cause less fuckery in the region when Trump has stated that he would have attacked those Iranian military boats for taunting one of our warships?

That's an act of war.

You know. It's important to be up to date with politics but it's also important to be reminded of the many great things in this world such as humor.

No matter how much we clutch at each other's throats, it's the good things in life that keep us united.

Yo dude: you're not funny.

Watching this interrupting, question dodging, blithering fool speak made my blood boil. I can't understand how this person got to where he is.

Same here. I probably would've done something had I been in the same room lol.

Major props to Lester and Hillary for being so composed throughout the whole thing. Lester definitely could've done a bit better at stopping Trump from rambling, but I do applaud his attempts at grilling him about his tax returns, birtherism, housing discrimination, etc.

Trump was just a rude ass bitch. Can't believe he had the gall to accuse Clinton of being "very disrespectful" to Obama in their 2008 debate, considering his behavior in this one.

Strap on your hooker ...
Clinton missed a lot of moments to blame Republican obstructionism for all the '20 years of policy failure' Trump kept levying at her. Most of the wrongs he's throwing at them haven't been because Dems haven't been trying to do the right thing, but more because Republicans won't fucking let them.

Really, all she has to do is this: Pause for a second, after a spate of Trump interruptions and petulance and grandstanding, and say this to the camera: "Look at the way this man conducts himself. Imagine he's in a meeting with a foreign power with whom tensions are high; Do you think he will diffuse the situation or make it worse?" You force people to look at him in that context, and for anyone with any rational imagination whatsoever, that's a death blow.

Your shtick is frailer than Trump's ego.

How in the world did they get Trump to agree to the debate with a crowd that can't cheer? His campaign is built on saying whatever will make the current crowd he is speaking to cheer like he is a pro wrestler. He just seems lost without that crowd confirmation.

She doesn't want to alienate republican voters who don't like Trump. There's a lot of those.

What you are posting is not humorous to many Americans, especially minorities. Sorry I don't laugh at your shenanigans.

I'll never understand what it's like to be in their position.

I don't know why we have such awful candidates to choose from. Roosevelt 2 please.

As usual I think Talking Points Memo has it right:

The debate ended up proceeding quite differently. In the first few exchanges Trump was on point pushing a message of economic nationalism, opposition to international trade agreements and job loss. Clinton, notably, barely engaged on this front, preferring to steer her responses to questions about tax equity, middle class families, trickle down economics, etc. But those initial jousts, that focus only lasted for ten or maybe 15 minutes.

Clinton clearly went into this debate not looking for one or two big "Have you no decency" moments but rather looking to hit him with a rat-tat-tat series of taunts and jabs to see if she could get him to lose his cool and throw him off his game. It ended up happening a lot more quickly than I expected. No more than fifteen minutes in he was getting visibly angry. And he stayed that way for the next hour plus.

From maybe a half hour into the debate Clinton had almost entirely seized the initiative. She was attacking while he responded, sometimes angrily, sometimes with new attacks and very often by doubling down on demonstrable falsehoods he's been pilloried for for months. At various moments he shuffled in and out of parts of his stump speech. But through most of the exchange he constantly interrupted Clinton, talked over her, denied claims she made which are easily validated. In terms of body language and style it was thermonuclear Rick Lazio.

...

There was no knock out blow here. I don't know that it will move the polls dramatically. But Trump was scattered, swaggering and stumbling. He lied a lot and repeatedly refused to answer big questions in a way that was fairly obvious and transparent. If you hadn't heard him refuse to release his taxes before, how do you think it came off here? I think most people who had doubts about him won't have those doubts assuaged. People inclined not to like him likely found him bullying and rude - and not even successful at it at that. I'm not sure this is any game changer. It simply confirms what a lot of people already know: Trump is not suited to be President. Clinton is competent, prepared and in this exchange buoyant and dynamic.

Trump seems like someone who has managed to win a lot of arguments simply by being the loudest person in the room.

Problem is fact checking is simply too easy to be done now. Minutes, in fact.

Let's be rational. He would be impeached if he tried a lot of what he has "planned"
"Let's be rational" from a guy who wants to vote for a candidate, for the lulz.
Did you not pay attention tonight, the guy that doesn't think blowing foreign soldiers up would cause a war, a guy that wants to implement horribly flawed system stop and frisk, a guy who admitted to avoiding paying federal tax, a guy that discriminates against minorities.

You really should think things through, people's lives will be affected.

This wasnt a debate for any political party. It was a debate between these two people. What good would it do to go after GOP obstructionism when Trump isn't even a politician? Hillary stayed on message consistently. Trump was all over the place.

So I forgot I left my stream on my computer. I went and watched the debate in the living room with the whole family. I return to my computer and I see the stream is frozen at this frame:

I was actually kinda worried at first because for the initial 20 minutes or so, Trump was doing a good job of acting like a proper candidate. Substantively, sure there was nothing there, but he had good optics. Hillary, on the other hand, looked incredibly robotic and rehearsed (and this was something that she never got out of through the entire debate). And since Trump achieved the absolute bare minimum that everyone asked of him, I was gonna brace myself for the tsunami of shitty opinion pieces that said that Trump vastly exceeded expectations and thus was the clear winner of the debate.

....but then the birth certificate stuff came up and he completely fucked things up. Aside from Trump's shitty defense, the birther issue is something that the media is more than happy to hammer him on since it's so outright and blatantly racist. I was concerned that there may have been an infinitesimal possibility that he would be more repentant, at least just for show, but nope, he just decided to keep chugging along on the shithead express, leaving Hillary a great opening to demonstrate how she, unlike Trump, is not a horrible piece of garbage.

Furthermore, Hilldawg got two more knockout punches, with the "temperament" incident, and then the "stamina" bit. The former was great if only for the part where she goes "Okay then!" and wiggles her shoulders. Probably her most "human" moment of the debate.

So like I said, early on things looked grim, but Trump just couldn't help being Trump, and Hillary did a great job taking advantage of that.

Isnt the Daily Caller another alt-right site? I could swear it was founded by people left Breitbart because of Bannon. And screw it, if I am completely wrong on that, facts arent important anymore for the political party that TheBlaze heavily supports.

I don't get what the site has to do with it...

Tiny, ineffectual hands down.

I like the cut of your jib. Who cares what experts and polls say? It's all about how you feel in your GUT.

Oh... thanks for your input. Care to back that up with ANYTHING of substance?

Bullshit.

How? It would help if you expanded upon your statement with reasoning as to why instead of posting a drive by post.

Trump came off as strong in the first, say, 1/4 of the debate, before the race question came along, at which point he started faltering hard and never really recovered.

I think trump came out swinging, it was hit after hit after hit. He was solid throughout the entire debate, he was clear and in control. He was right when he said he has better temperament than Hilary, all she could do was sit their with a stupid grin because what he said legit shook her. Trump won by a land slide and she really didnt have any sort of retort to say back. Cant wait to see what he does the next debate
