Anyone skipped the Wii U but excited for the NX?

You mean you're not excited for a hybrid console / conventional console / portable / projector based handheld the plugs into a TV that is similar / more powered than a PS4 / is three GameCubes duct taped together which has similar architecture to the other consoles so third party support will be encouraged / is like the Sega Saturn and PS3 had a baby so you need a PhD to read the dev kit instruction manual?
Lol. Well put.

It's always possible I'll buy Nintendo hardware, but I skipped the Wii U (and the 3DS) because they didn't seem worth it to me.

Me.

The only Nintendo console I don't own along with Virtual Boy.

Hated the gamepad from the reveal and the games I wanted to play were really really few.

The thing is if they removed the pad and cut 100 euro I'd probably had one...

NX is a sure buy even if it sucks because I don't want to skip two Nintendo consoles in a row, plus I believe the will deliver in the software department being a hybrid and getting all the games.

I hope they re-release some WiiU games esp Donkey Kong...

I'm excited to see what the NX actually is. I can't really say I'm excited/planning to buy one at this point because as other posters have pointed out, we still don't actually know what the fucker is.

I am but I'm just going strictly on faith.

I'm very realistic and I'm not acting like Nintendo somehow has the equity to win back a consumer like me but I've never hated Nintendo they just are behind the times a little bit and art the go to like they were in the late eighties and early to mid-90s.

I was quite interested until it was leaked that it was really a portable machine, obviously underpowered compared to the Xbox one and PS4. Now I'm like ehhh.

I have a Wii U and am still excited. Wii Us library was perfect for me and I'll be thrilled to see more similar Nintendo games on slightly better hardware that I can now carry around with me.

Opposite, I grabbed a Wii U after Bayo 2 and really enjoyed a few different games on it but my faith in Nintendo and hype for the NX is very very low. Sadly I don't think even BG&E2 would change that.

I'm excited about the theoretical concept.

I'm not excited about how Nintendo will inevitably fuck it up by not including a wifi card or forcing local-only multiplayer/no online communication or other hype-killing nonsense.

The NX would be good if someone else made it, but since Nintendo's making it, I just don't know man.

I'll get excited when we get more than rumors. But I do like the hybrid idea. I think it's perfect for Nintendo.

Also, I hope they port the best first party games of the wiiu generation.

I feel like Nintendo is really fucking over ALL the Wii U owners. I still love my Wii U, but wow I'm so pissed.
What? If Anything Nintendo has atleast shown some decent respect to Wii u owners by waiting this long without even a reveal despite how much of a joke it's been in sales, Compare this to the xbox one and Scorpio plan by Microsoft & that's a real fuck over.

I'm in the meh camp.

Hated the Wii and Wii U, but I still feel very nostalgic for Nintendo. I guess with the NX I can find out if I still actually like Nintendo games and hardware or that I'm done with them.

I skipped the Wii U but no, I'm not excited. Maybe if I was really into side-scrollers. Also not interested in paying so much for video games. They've been getting better at reducing prices but still.

Yep. Never got the Wii U due to things like price and the soon-obvious market failure, but I'm looking forward to the NX. I hope we get ports of a bunch of the Wii U games I've liked the look of.

I skipped the WiiU cause im no longer excited for Nintendo. I have no interest at all in buying anything from them again. NX so far is not changing that.

I liked the Wii U despite the controller.

The new system sounds like a step closer to mobile gaming and I'm not really interested.

Sign me up for an NES (and SNES) mini though.

I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the Gamecube but I really want a reason to get an NX and Breath of the Wild is probably a good enough reason already. I've enjoyed playing my 3DS for years and since it seems like the NX is going to be a hybrid I suppose it's inevitable that I'll be getting one.

How can you be excited for something that you don't even actually know what it is or what games are going to be available for it?

It's like asking: Did you skip the WiiU but are excited for what's in this box?

You represent everything that's wrong with this industry and its toxic hype culture. You're like the millions who bought No Man's Sky only to be disappointed.

Skipped and paid no attention to anything that came out after the 64 which was my last Nintendo console. My kids are at an age now that I'd like to play Nintendo games with them. I'm more curious what Nintendo games are these days as I associate it with Pokemon from all I read and that makes no sense to me. I want a gimmick-less system that plays Nintendo games.

Not sure yet. I'll probably wait to see how powerful it will be. A less powerful system won't attract and keep third party support. Probably. So very much wait and see.

i haven't bought a console since Super NES but am pretty interested in this, especially if they have a next gen Mario to go with their Zelda

Let's say that I skipped the Wii and was excited about the Wii U due to it actually being on HD.

As far as the NX I'm obviously excited as any other Nintendo fan would be, however my level of excitement is very low at the moment due to knowing nothing officially about it.

As far as preferences go, I'm glad the rumors point to an hybrid console, because although I have had every single (just one revision per system) handheld from Nintendo I at a point where I can't be arsed anymore playing on small screens (my poor 3DS and Vita cry with their huge backlog).

For system power or graphical quality, I do hope it is much better than the Wii U but if it's not PS4 level it's not big deal, I already got used that Nintendo consoles are not at the forefront in graphics (art style certainly makes up for it), and I have my gaming PC for my 4K needs.

I skipped Wii U and I'm excited. The only thing I wanted the Wii U for was Mario 3D World and Zelda U. Now BotW is coming to NX, and it's most likely portable at that.

I have owned every Nintendo console except the Wii U and Virtual Boy. I am excited to purchase the NX day 1 if its a true hybrid console/handheld like the rumors say it is.

Growing up in the NES/SNES era, everything new from Nintendo excites me. I am just hardwired this way. Unfortunately this just sets me up for disappointment but I'm hoping that Nintendo can once again put out an incredible product like they have in the past.

There's barely anything at all on NX to get hyped about. It's a ghost ATM.

Thought the Wii U was shitty hardware with amazing exclusive games. For now, I'm holding onto mine.

How can you be excited for something that you don't even actually know what it is or what games are going to be available for it?

And this

I skipped the Wii U. I love portable consoles / handhelds, I had them all, not only from Nintendo. And I'm so excited about the NX. I love to ride my bicycle at night and have some breaks somewhere in empty parks or places in the wood. And I love to play some games during the brakes. NX will be the perfect thing for me, like the 3DS was. LoZ, Mario, Mario Kart etc. Glorious days are coming.

What? If Anything Nintendo has atleast shown some decent respect to Wii u owners by waiting this long without even a reveal despite how much of a joke it's been in sales, Compare this to the xbox one and Scorpio plan by Microsoft & that's a real fuck over.

What do you mean by that?

I purchased a console that was promised with much potential only to get a game library that's mediocre. Barely a bigger game library than the Dreamcast. Don't get me wrong tho., there are some great games on the Wii U, but it's been a drought since the console released. That said, from what I'm hearing / reading about the NX it won't be backwards compatible with my Wii U games, at least the Scorpio will be. Plus I didn't hear anything about them leaving the Xbox One behind. It looks like Nintendo is leaving the Wii U behind and is not even looking back. So yeah, Wii U owner were left deserted or better yet fucked.

I've always gotten burned by Nintendo home consoles in some way post N64 era, but their handhelds have always been good to me so the NZ sounds like my perfect compromise.

Wanted a WiiU but saw the foreshadowing lack of support for it so looking forward to NZ to be honest.

I need more info, I'm excited that a new Nintendo console is coming out but not excited enough at momwnt to pre-order or buy day one.

I'm intrigued. I haven't had a proper home console since the Gamecube/PS2/OGXbox, preferring PC most of the time.

But Nintendo handhelds have always treated me well. I've probably got more hours on the 3DS than anything else lately. If the NX proves to be a successor, then I'll probably get one.

What did you dislike about it so much?
I actually enjoyed the Wii U, I was just severely displeased as to how it turned out.

I would be able to overlook Nintendo's decision to kill of the console early given they didn't have much of a choice, but their mistakes stem back further than that.

They heavily rested on their laurels for the last several years of the Wii's lifespan, and were then arrogant enough to name the Wii U after it despite letting it's predecessor flounder previously.

Axing the servers early for the Wii and DS in their entirety didn't help their case.
Needless to say, I don't have much faith in Nintendo at this point.
The people who say they are not interested in the NX because the Wii U software wasn't good enough for them, what about the 3DS?
Great software, terrible hardware.

-Power-wise, it's a potato that has been limping along for years.
-Ergonomics are horrible. It's seriously the most uncomfortable gaming device I've ever used, behind the original PSP.

I also can't stand the 3D feature, the 3DS is essentially a software prison for me.
