My wishlist (for specifically Sony games):
-Adventures of Mana
-Atelier Plus (all of them)
-God Eater Resurrection
-I am Setsuna
-Malicious (and Rebirth)
-Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
-Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds (and Overdrive)
-Romancing SaGa 2
-Ray Gigant
-Soul Sacrifice Delta
-Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity

Some I own and would gladly double-dip on. I know there's more I want, but this was all I could think of, for now.

I will mess with I am Setsuna physical release for ps4 ....english sub

Oreshika and Soul Sacrifice Delta both already have English physical releases tho

I never count Asian releases. I don't import, as I like all of my games to look the same. My choice, but there are others that would also like a more domestic release of these titles.

Other than the labeling on the front being slightly different (no esrb and there may be a barcode), they are identical to what an official Western release would be. I guess I could possibly see it if the text on the box were in a different language, but it's all in English.

I know for a fact that LRG is eventually going to publish games that have gotten english releases elsewhere, but if it does well for them, sure. Those will probably be the ones I do skip and I get the feeling I won't be the only one.

So it is in the works? Some will want them, some won't. Maybe keeping them at a smaller quantity would be a good idea. Some people don't mind importing or getting Asian releases, but some are like me, and would get them.

The only one I know that is likely getting one is Skull Girls.

I'm with you on this. To me it's not so much about looking the same, as it is me knowing that they're the same. Also, while I'm not a super completionist, if I start importing it feels like it's gonna open a whole can of worms. "Well if I got x, why don't I also get y?", on and on. Sticking to one region makes collecting feel simpler and easier in terms of scope.

I've mentioned in the past that I'd also be interesting in buying Asia exclusive games from LRG - my reasoning being that I prefer to keep an NA collection (and LRG confirmed a few pages ago that their games fall under the NA umbrella). If a game isn't available in English then I'll definitely import it, but otherwise I prefer to keep the rest of my collection as uniform as possible.

For me, not importing also helps me keep my games, especially my LEs, to one region. I COULD import things like Fatal Frame V and such, but then I feel like I'd start getting more PAL things and well, I want to keep my wallet to a minimum. It keeps my collecting focused and... slightly more budgeted.

EDIT: If a poll was made on LRG Twitter about buying releases already made in other regions, I wonder what the percentages would look like, on how many would still buy.

Oreshika and Soul Sacrifice Delta has DLC so it would be nice to have NA version. Soul Sacrifice has online pass so if you want to play online you need to use Asia account.

On the other hand many LRG buyers are outside NA anway so they would not care about NA release.

If you wanted your games to look the same, you wouldn't be buying LRG releases but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

If you're worried about overspending, why would you want LRG to put out another copy of an already existing game that you're already saving money on by not buying?

Ya anyone who thinks these games would go for less is kidding themselves. Soul Sacrifice and Oreshika retail for $40, which would make a LRG release $50+ along with whatever shipping is. You are not saving money by holding out for LRG to get any of these.

...why would they be $50?

I never said I was saving money by not getting them, but easier on my wallet being fewer to get, anyways. There's plenty of PAL and Asian releases that don't have domestic copies, and probably never will, anyways. I'd at least like the choice of having a domestic copy to get.

Because LRG charges $10-15 above the retail price, they wouldn't make money otherwise. They give the developers retail value and then the 10-15 extra covers the cost of manufacturing and pays them. It's the reason why we were told Atelier releases would be $40-45, the earlier ones retail for $30.

Soul Sacrifice Delta has been on PSN for $17.99 for 1yr+ and counting so this is a permenant drop. Oreshika on PSN launched for $20. Also SSD has online pass which can't be used if you bought it from Asia.

They are a little different, but pretty much NTSC, minus the rating labels.
...likewise, Asian releases are barely different. It won't stand out from your shelf, at all.

Exactly. It just doesn't make sense. That's selective thinking right here.

We discussed it a while back and I liked the conclusion some of us came to. While I have nothing agaist asian releases per sé (heck, I'd probably even buy it), the main problem with releasing an already existing Asian release is that it takes the place of a game that could have been released for the very first time. Whatever you say, Oreshika is already available ; Severed, Binding of Isaac, etc, are not.
The only exceptions that would make a new release "worth it" to me :
- the game is very very rare
- it includes "important" DLCs never seen physically before

Now I know it's only my opinion and your also entitled to yours. It's not against you. My only goal here is, hopefully, to slightly tilt the balance away from these kind of releases :)
If it doesn't work, bah, so be it.

It's just how I'm particular for how I do my collecting, just as I can think it's odd for people that collect sealed games, but get bothered by loose discs that they will never even open up and touch. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. I would like the chance to be able to get the titles by LRG if I can, and will spend the money if it does happen. As of now, I still don't have the desire to import.

Reminds me... Some people get mad at other companies for releasing ports instead of new games, which is how I see that this is similar too. Some people view Steam ports and things as "wasted opportunities", when other games that are not localized into english could be getting made. I get it, but some people want those games on Steam. Kind of like how some people would prefer not importing. It's all a preference.

Ports are tapping into new markets entirely.

Also, it's a whole different point of view to reason from a developer's perspective. Porting a game, and localizing it, may not cost the same at all. The market may not be the same at all. You can't point the finger at a developer and say confidently : "your time would have better been used somewhere else", because nobody can say that for sure.

As I see it, in the case of LRG, releasing a game X or Y doesn't matter as long as there's a release. So you can ask them to choose wisely without it to hurt their bottomline :D
(but maybe I'm mistaken)

Oh I know, but this is from a consumer's point of view, as I have definitely seen people argue and get mad at Steam ports because of how "look how ____ could have been localized instead!" It's sometimes easy for the publisher to port a Vita or PS4 game, but some of the consumers... don't see it the same way and think it's a game for a game.

I'm just making the comparison, while although Steam games are a different market and system to play on altogether, it's still a different set of people that want it. Same being that if LRG does make a domestic NTSC title from an Asian/PAL/whatever version, there's still going to be a set of people who want it and will purchase it. A waste to some, but an opportunity for others.

The preorders of silver case are going to be enough time live so we can grab it with the other releases(shantae, volume)? It's for saving in shipping costs as always.

Also Ray Gigant yea defo want this. Would buy 2 copies at 40$ just to support. I want all the experience inc. games physically. Even got Sword city on Vita CE x2 and Xbox One copy.

I hear that. Ray Gigant looks BEAUTIFUL. I imported the phsycial XB1 version of Sword City as well. What a looker too!

Ray Gigant would be in my top 3 for a physical. The others being I Am Setsuna and Pixel Junk Monsters!

Setsuna disappointed me so its no loss for me but I know a lot of people want it.

Ray Gigant's soundtrack is sooooo good.

Personally, I wouldn't buy any LRG games where I've got Asian-English versions of them.

I can understand why people would want them, but it seems like a waste to me, when there are other games out there that won't have any form of physical release; and LRG seem to be establishing that they can only release a certain amount every month without over-saturating things. If games which already have physical releases are taking over those spots, it'd be a bit of a shame.

Regarding Oreshika Asian english retail release, it was only widely available around launch for a few days/weeks, ever since it's almost impossible to find a copy at a reasonable price.

Not entirely true, it even got a reprint.

Its availability's been very similar to most other Asian English releases. Which aren't "widely available", as you call it, in the West because they aren't meant for the West.

Yep reasonable price but...
I was supposed to check the twitter account of a malaysian website to find it is available for international shipping and that the process was to order through mails !
I tried back when it was released it was oos everywhere, I happened to find stock on that website but trying to order they only seem to ship in Malaysia, granted I didn't dig further but it seems like it does take a bit of dedication to be able to find a copy.
So there could still be pending demand for a Limited retail release, not like I'm asking for it, many games that never got a retail release at all could be more interesting, only that it could still be viable and the game is worth it.

Is it OOS once more ?

I bought the japanese collector edition for 10€ anyway

There was a restock on September 28th, you can try.

Heavyarm is pretty famous amongst Vita importers now. And yes it takes some dedication, but it's rarely a problem for Vita enthusiasts.

And even if you're looking at ebay, Oreshika has dropped to around 60€ from at least 100€ months ago.

I wouldn't mind if LRG released all the information about their releases a bit more ahead.

This game now is going to be released available for pre-order today. Do we know the price point and contents of the package? (If so, I have somehow missed it.)

Also, it's just easier to plan a bit ahead if you know what's coming and when it's coming.

I know Josh is a Saturn fan, but the out-of-the-blue Saturn release was one of the worst business decisions SEGA ever took, Josh! So you might not want to copy that! ;-)

Edit: damn you takoyaki. :-)
