Thumper looks cool, the good thing is that it's a non-vr game as well. So you can play it without a headset and then try it with one later one.

I've seen Thumper several times before, and I've never understood how it works at all. But it does look neat.

There is nothing to be whoa about. Head tracking is happening at 120hz but all animation shading etc. is still happening at 60hz.

Not exactly true, the headset samples up everything to 120fps using reprojection. Have they said anything about 3D audio?

I still can't get over that Jeff got sick. Most telling thing so far IMO, unless he has an illness or something.
There is a VRodeo power level joke in here somewhere

These tracking issues seem weird.
Didn't they play SuperHyperCube for Unfinished EX recently using the same setup and it was totally fine?

I really want to like Thumper but it just looks like a game that hinges on difficulty. I loved Dyad but it doesn't seem to have any player expression.

You have games like Audioshield which look boring as hell on a 2D screen, but are actually a lotta fun. VR games don't show well on screen.

To be fair, Thumper is a 2D game as well. Pretty sure it was that first before they added VR support.

That said, I'm sure it's more fun to play than watch. It looks awesome to me.

Of course the one game that actually looks really fun is the one that isn't really a VR game to begin with

Why are people surprised with this? When the hardware might be faulty and therefore tracking is bad, anyone will get sick in VR.

Yah, if it's faulty it makes sense, but Jeff seemed sort of invincible with regards to this VR stuff but something about PSVR is throwing him off.

This is exactly what I said. Reprojection just warps an already rendered image to account for the new head position. It doesn't render a new frame.

Thumper is literally that scene in Batman Forever when Bruce travels to the Batcave under his office desk.

Don't tell me why I remember this.

No one is "invincible" to this stuff. If your world is literally shaking or drifting, that will throw anybody off even those with strong stomachs. First rule of VR is don't move the user's view.

That's what's happening with the jitter and tracking issues.

If anything, if they've already been informed that there's something wrong with the hardware they have, then he should just stop going in. It's not gonna get any better. There is no "fighting" your way into VR. You'll get real sick eventually and that's what's happening here if the hardware really is faulty.

Damn that IMU drift. Those cameras definitely aren't doing their job.

Did they try turning off those big spot lights on their walls? Their mood lighting looks like a damn DS4.

Might not be the issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if the camera sees that giant blue light in back of him.

The blue is to his left, same way he keeps drifting to.

Ughh...my brain is telling me that $400 is too much for a peripheral that is unproven and not guaranteed to get sustained support with apparently some lsunch-ass launch/mediocre software with Wii-era camera tracking issues. But my heart keeps telling me it's virtual fucking reality! God, I am SO going to have early adopter buyers remorse. I guess it won't be the first time, but, logically, if I were smart, I'd cancel my preorder and get PS Pro instead/ put money towards my PC build. Fuck.
