Ughh...my brain is telling me that $400 is too much for a peripheral that is unproven and not guaranteed to get sustained support with apparently some lsunch-ass launch/mediocre software with Wii-era camera tracking issues. But my heart keeps telling me it's virtual fucking reality! God, I am SO going to have early adopter buyers remorse. I guess it won't be the first time, but, logically, if I were smart, I'd cancel my preorder and get PS Pro instead/ put money towards my PC build. Fuck.

I feel exactly the same, lol. I just tested PS vr last week and was completely hyped. Now after this I am very confused but still on the fence to keep my pre-order or invest on my old pc. Lol

I don't get why they are having such severe drift problems. That is something they should be able to correct for, especially for the headset where they should have way more positional data to work with. I kind of get how it's worse with the Move which has less data to correct with, but just in like 10 minutes Brad was looking like 40 degrees off center.

Well, it's hard to get excited about PSVR after having tried a Vive. Not hating, it's just fact. Why the hell is he so tall. Oh right, PSVR can't calculate how his height?

But the selling proposition was never that it would have better VR than the Vive or roomscale stuff like the Vive. The hope I've seen recently was that PSVR would offer a decent VR experience but with a better selection of games you can play now, versus the Vive and Rift libraries. I think that was well understood and I don't see why that alone would be disappointing.

So far, the tracking issues seem like a dealbreaker. That seems independent of the things people concentrated on, like the processing power of the PS4. I did see some people concerned about the Move controllers compared to the tracking abilities of the Vive/Oculus Touch, but I don't think anyone was particularly concerned about HELMET tracking issues until today. That seems like ample grounds for disappointment.

Even though they've had issues they seem pretty positive actually. They're liking the tech, and seemed legit bummed its not working quite right all the time.

This stream is actually making me more excited to get mine

Agreed. It seems like there are stretches where they quite into it when they go a while without drift.

My thought as well, it has several things that are supposed to be precisely for making sure that doesn't happen so I wrote it off until I saw it, hopefully they can improve the repeated check(?) in software.

The thing is that Vive's room-scale tracking (besides offering accurate positioning for movement) also ensures that the actual core stability is extremely solid.

If PSVR has problematic tracking (due to Sony's strange decision to use the old motion controllers/PS camera?) it is basically DOA. Any type of micro judder or involuntary movement will cause intense nausea.

Just watching Jim Sterling's review now and also based off his tweet, he's had no hardware issues at least in regards to tracking.
PSILY guys didn't mention anything either. It's different experiences across the board. I don't get the obsession with GB here, it's detail reviews of the device, are people not reading?

- One of the most comfortable VR
- Move controllers are outdated but work
- Screen not as clear as PC VR
- Games are smaller in scope and scale
- Great potential
- Fair price
- Ok to wait for a true must have
- Tracking can be wonky game-to-game basis

Anyone cancelling their pre-orders is wasting a chance to sell this thing at a profit to the crazies.

Is there really that much profit in this?
Current Launch Bundles are selling on ebay for about $680
Fees on that are just under $70. Purchase price after tax is around $530-550.

Lot of risk for 60-80 profit.
