I dislike some of the new graphics as much as I like certain aspects of it, waiting for some graphical cleanup by the dedicated modders is going to be worth it I believe.
Still, this December? The winter months? There will be but one game and that is Civ hahaha
You misread.
Giant Bomb's Unfinished of Civ6 is now up.
Haven't watch it yet, but on the Beastcast, Alex also mentioned some impressions of Civ6 on Prince difficulty The gist of it was, the endgame got boring because he won so early and suggested that it would need some xpacs to round out the endgame. I think it was from that same demo everyone else had, so Prince was as high as he could go. He also praised the district system, and mentioned that Happiness was poorly explained.
There's conflicting accounts of the AI's performance.
Some Let's Plays have shown the AI using Zones of Control really effectively in combat but most agree that on default difficulty (Prince) the AI ends up running around with Ancient/Classical Era units far too late into the game.
It's a bit of a shame really if that's the case because it seems there's no way of making the AI more of a challenge without raising the difficulty, which makes things like Amenities harder to manage
Ah man, goodie huts are gone? That was pretty much my sole purpose for building an early scout.

Does the great library no longer grant a free tech (or even exist?)? If so there goes my early rush strategy for science domination.
First look: Russia
Looks like a civ I will get on with. Get nice and big with some early wars and then catch up on the science game with trading bonuses. Also always quite liked civs that exploit unusual spots on the map, in this case tundra tiles.

It now gives you the 50% boost to all techs you haven't researched in, I think, the first two eras. So you'd rush it not for a free tech but to quickly backfill the rest I guess.
So it gives the Eureka for all techs in first two eras? If so, it sounds cool.
According to the leak last week, it's 1 science/culture every 3 techs/civics, so it's pretty weak. It might be rebalanced before release though.
Not that I've read. Shame too because "tv" experience with Civ 5 is sub par. Had hoped from some improvements.Has there been any talk about UI changes and such to make it easier to play with a Steam Controller/TV setup? I know there is a Steam Controller bundle with the game, but I'm wondering if there any UI changes when playing on a TV?

As you approach the later game, if you're maximizing your trade routes to use it, you could be getting 6-8 Science/Culture per turn, which is non-negligible for the investment it takes to get a trade route, which provides other benefits anyways.
Already bought from Steam. They need to release this thing about two weeks earlier than the current date...
A lot of people derive happiness from spending money they don't have to.Why? Steam is like the only place selling it at retail, everywhere else you can get it 20-25% cheaper. And its a steam key no matter where you buy it, so all your doing is paying more for the exact same thing.
I just got Civ V some days ago and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I do not think that I will get VI just yet when it releases but it is definitely on my wishlist.
Edit: This is my first time playing any Civ game

Steam is the only place you cna get a refund though. I prefer to purchase form there when I'm not sure about a product.
What's the cheapest place I can preorder the game currently? Not interested in gray market key reselling sites.
20% off on Gamesplanet.

Just a PSA from that link.
Can't believe I missed GMG discount by less than 24 hrs. :/
