It's kind of a shame that Trump's campaign has to end like this...

I'm legit waiting for people to say "well, when he said that he didn't know he'd run for president. He wouldn't have said it if he'd known that. So it's okay. I'm still voting for him." I fully expect this to happen.

Edit - also, won't he just say "I didn't say that." And his supporters will knod their heads? Or just more of the "see I like him because he says what he wants" bs.

Imagine someone tried to defend it by saying he was a Democrat at the time

It's fine with me. Just means Republicans will take even longer to fix their problems, losing more elections in the process.

It would be nice to have a functional opposition party, since there are some things I don't agree on with Democrats, but the Republican party is so completely backwards on everything that there is no value to it. Hopefully they implode completely and something else takes their place.

He already admitted that he said it, Bush did too, so I don't think he's taking that approach.

I'd actually prefer it if this causes him to lose. If he lost in a less obvious way, there'd be lots of angry Trump supporters with guns thinking the election was rigged and looking for someone to blame. If he's kicked down hard with a big scandal like this, we could avoid that eventuality.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you all 100%, but I'm not ready to count the chickens before they're hatched.
I guess it's the voter turnout that makes me nervous.

I really don't understand this line of thinking. Where are people getting this idea that low voter is a major thing in Presidental elections? Midterms are were Dems see the issue with voter turnout, not Presidental.

Maybe some commenters are being smug, but he's fucking done. When HRC starts making ads with this stuff? And the access Hollywood people go through their entire archive? Trumps core supporters may never leave him. That's true. But a good ten to fifteen percent of the electorate are soft trump supporters, not core supporters. They were voting for the Supreme Court, in spite of Donald, not because of him. Those people are out.

While what trump said is gross and shows what a scumbag he is....

Clinton is still on the same scumbag level, she defends her cheating rapist husband, did insider trading, lies and is 100% corrupt. Takes money for facetime/political influence. Defends wall street over main street screwing the general population that needs defending.

The world is going to shit with either one of these people in office.

No please, tell us more. Especially the bold.

This doesn't make sense to me. If they were holding their noses and voting for Trump because of the Supreme Court (which is a big deal), why would this all of a sudden change their minds. Comparatively, the future of the Supreme Court should still be a wayyy bigger deal than this in their minds.

Stop rejecting the false choice. You're ruining the narrative.

Well, except for all those House, Senate and other ones statewide.

You think the Republican party fixing their problems with minorities and women would...hurt them in house, senate and other statewide races?

The way things are going, Democrats are going to keep improving, even in off year elections.

That whole story lasted like 3 days and then it was gone. People will be talking about this until the end of recorded history.

Fixed that for you.

Its too horrific, salacious, hilarious, you name it.

A presidential nominee talking about grabbing pussy. On tape. This is part of America FOREVER.

Yeah, man. You know what's up. I particularly like how you just side-lined Trump with one sentence and spent the body of your post ranting incoherently about Hillary.

But they are both the same, as evidenced by the same treatment you gave them both. Totally neutral.

His supporters would have millions excuses for his defeat no matter how it came. For someone running a campaign on flinging shit at everyone else this is exactly the type of end deserved.

Honestly, for the people who were with Trump up to this point, I really doubt this is going to detract them. You could release a video of Trump physically assaulting a woman, and they would still support him

Warmer. This is the sad truth.

just gonna say this is definitely detracting the women among them

though how much of that'll hold for an entire month is anyone's guess

I have a feeling this won't be the last bombshell and it wouldn't surprise me if more stuff surfaces that reinforces this or other terrible things Donald has said or done that is as recent as early in his campaign.

It's not like there is a shortage of awful things he's said and done that will alienate even the people who would want to vote for him.

Is the woman Hillary?

How do you show a psychic assault? Like in Star Trek Nemesis? So Trump would need Ron Perlman?

There's a level of quality a person needs to be president. Everyone acknowledges trump doesn't qualify but pretends that Hilary is somehow up for the job despite a history of where the law doesn't apply to her or her husband.

Then don't vote. Clinton will be the next president regardless.

You are proof that that the GOP's horse shit 20-year smear campaign works on some people.

Those are all alt-right lies, she was found innocent by the FBI on every single accusation ever made against her.

Also, no one has ever been more qualified in human history, Hillary Clinton was both a Senator and Secretary of State. Something no other human being has accomplished in history while being a female.

Can't wait for the next debate. Trump fudged his apology bad. He's gonna get creamed. After she's whipped him she's gonna put a cherry on top and call it a great Sunday.

You can't be serious.

If you want to bring up quality, then Trump is literally the LEAST qualified person to hold the office for which he is running. Hillary, despite her drawbacks, is qualified unless one holds her to standards that previous presidents were never held to.

Hillary and Trump aren't even in the same ballpark when it comes to quality, and that's from a Bernie supporter who wanted nothing more than to see Sanders oppose the Republican nominee.

Not that it wasn't an awful thing to say, but I do find it funny that this, out of all the things he's said was the one to tip the bucket over, not the uncountable racist, homophobic and sexist statements that came before - but then again, none of those things would have affected your average white-straight alt right supporter, marriage on the other hand, is about as conservative as it gets. Like it's not even a 5/10 on the Trump scale

I don't care how he loses, but he needs to be destroyed in the electoral college. We as a country need to send a message that people like Trump and the ideas he represents are not OK, even if it took something like this to make the country swing in that direction.

Trump isn't running on any policies. Most people supporting him don't care what he thinks about budget policy, economic policy, tax policy, college debt, health care issues, wage policy, education policy, etc, etc.

Trump is running on hate. That's it. He declared it the instant he declared his candidacy. Racial / immigrant hate first and foremost, but as his campaign picked up steam and so did Hillary's, he picked up Hillary/Democrat haters. And let's not forget Obama haters - he's one himself, and that's why he's running.

Some of his supporters are on his side just because he's Republican and would sign bills that a Republican Congress writes, whatever those are (repeal Obamacare, cut off social programs, re-litigate gay marriage, etc). But of course, a lot of the support for mainstay Republican issues are hate-based to start with.

I suppose it would be more fitting if Trump being caught on camera using racial slurs were the tipping point. But open sexism will do. If, in fact, it does. I believe he'll lose, but I'm not convinced, only hoping, that this will make him lose big(ly).

I find it surprising that after all the shit Trump did and said before the OP thinks that some sexist talk, no matter how filthy, will do much damage to his campaign. Heck, it might even help him, considering his running on anti political correctness. Most of his supporters will probably thing "now dumb liberals even wan't do ban locker room guy talks".

Immigrant hate has been the backbone of American policy for 130+ years. Racial/foreigner hate for even longer.

Have you looked at any news site in existence lately?

Its *everywhere*

I'm talking #1 trend on Twitter, Facebook, front page of every website, its bad

His apology was fucked too and its just poured gas on the fire
--

I'm talking this shit is front page of Al Jazeera and BBC even

Its on a new level

I just checked Australian news sites and it is on the front of the following sites
ABC
SBS
Seven News
Nine News
Ten News
News.com.au

I'd say he hit a raw nerve somewhere.

I don't even care at this point.

If we have somehow managed to survive without a fascist, racist, sexist, dangerous person taking over the country for the next four years, at least we avoided catastrophe.

Yes, it's a low bar.

The point of this scandal and why it will make a difference is not with the commit Trump voters, but with the undecideds. That's why these scandals will hurt him.

Hillary is still going to be President.

Undecideds are a myth.

Mostly true, but not entirely. He is also running on anti-establishment rhetoric, and he is the sole populist still in the race. There are lots of people who just want someone to "shake things up," and they don't care how it happens.

It's a sound tactic. If people are frustrated or scared, give them something to blame. You don't even have to offer a reasonable solution... just attack the strawmen you create from the fear. Trump is coasting on a lot more than hate right now. Fear is a hell of a drug.

This is what I'm seeing so far:

Trump started out the first debate by trying to play the nice guy. He said out loud that he's not going to say certain things because he wants to be nice. (Whether or not he's full of shit about the nice guy shtick is irrelevant).

Clinton hit him with Machado, and now this.

Now he has Casus belli to hit back with what he didn't say the first time. Now he can be the ass he always wanted to be, but this time with "justification".

Remember that line in The Dark Knight about "escalation"?

Next debate isn't going to be pretty. Bring your popcorn.

So long as he's not allowed to exit the race and get replaced at the last second by some moderate sounding scumbag Republican, I'm glad this crap takes him down.
