Final Fantasy XV first 45 minute gameplay video (final build of the game)

The missing enemy designs I can see are.... the small Dino creatures, flying imps, mecha Behemoth (Versus 2011) and the mammoth sized Iron Giant (FFXV 2013).

And bats(tehy appeared after the small dinos in the 2011 trailer)

I really hope the Mecha Behemoth and Boss type Iron Giant make it in to the final game! Tabata please.

I don't know about the titan iron giant, but mecha bahemoth NEEDS to happen.

It was so hype.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mecha Behemoth as a stronger late game Behemoth model swap or something.

On another note, I wonder what the ultimate weapons are going to be. I hope at least one of them is called Ultima Weapon, just for tradition's sake.

Didn't we see the Ultima Weapon in the inventory during one of the recent streams?

Yes and no.

As of the preview builds where they showed it, you could only have one Hunt, a specific subset of mission, active at one time.

But the quest selection screen (that shows the toggle-able quest indicators, etc) lists multiple active quests/sidequests at once, including that one-at-a-time Hunt.

Didn't see this post -___-

this is a lot better.

To be more specific, what I observed was:

Main quest
Sidequest(s) (e.g. help the guys with the broken car by the roadside, deliver some stuff for Cindy, etc)
Hunt (similar to FFXII hunts - you get them from bartenders/etc. like a job board) - one at a time.

Whatever you'd started would all show up in a quest list in the menu. You pick one from that list and the minimap indicators, etc. will point you to it. I am unsure if a quest has been started, i.e. in that list, but not currently selected, records progress i.e. if you have "kill 3 Sabretusks" started, but have the main quest active, will it count up those kills? (I haven't seen footage that confirms one way or the other)

Just so I'm not misunderstood! "Active quests" probably mean different things to different people.

As falk said, I probably should have been more specific. You can activate one type of quest for each. So hunt/side mission as an example.

On mobile so lazy!

In the Cactuar spotting stream, the active quest seemed to automatically change when you complete part of another.

Bit worried about how the sidequests work with sleeping cancelling them. Wonder if the idea there is to encourage players to pick up a quest and do it, instead of building a massive list of them like I ended up doing in TW3

Wonder if this is just another Nomura to Tabata transition story element that disappeared.

This, right here, is precisely how bullshit happens. You automatically assigned causation. No thought is actually put into finding the source of this change, so it's easy to just proclaim it to be Tabata's doing. Case closed, that was easy. Let's all grab our pitchforks and torches.

This is also literally how bigotry works. I'd really love to see more critical thinking in this fanbase. It needs it.

Really? Camping cancels all sidequests?

That's interesting. My guess would be that it's not in order to prevent players from building a massive list, but instead to have some systems in place to encourage them to be out at night, and experience the dangers it brings.

What ? Don't tell me they decide to put timed quest ?

Its how it worked in ED, and I've not seen anything to suggest they've changed it

Hope they have though, personally. Maybe encourage players to stay out at night with the occasional night-only quest/

Is this confirmed? Cancelled in which sense? The quest is gone for good or you have to talk with the quest giver again? Both would be dumb.

I imagine it's both. With the one hunt at a time thing and this, it looks like they want people to make pointed efforts to achieve a task rather than build up a huge list while you run around at random plucking things off. The latter works for the traditional open world formula where you're in a manageable space to cover every square foot, but not as much in a world the size of Rhode Island.

It's how it is in ED, but I don't know if it's the same way in the full game. They did make a point to say that it won't be like other open world games where you get a huge list of quests in your backlog, though, so it could be that way in the full game. It seems to be a design choice. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, though.

On one hand, like I mentioned on my post, the size of the world is a factor. And making a point to get and complete a quest in one go can make it feel like a more pointed experience, rather than somewhere where you mindlessly pick up all the quests in an area and start checking off waypoints.

I'll have to see it in practice.

Night only quests would be awesome, indeed. I hope there are some.

The latter works for the traditional open world formula where you're in a manageable space to cover every square foot, but not as much in a world the size of Rhode Island.

The hunts also help building a sense of familiarity with the world. You start to learn the map and the landmarks better, finding your way back to the current hunt outpost no matter where you are.

It only works because of the way the game is divided into not-that-big areas, though. If the maps were insanely big, it would be a pain in the ass.

Of course, in reality most people will just play while they look at the minimap 100% of the time, so there's that.

If they have an insane amount of unique dialogue, even for the hunts, then it also makes sense as a reason for doing things that way. The one you have active will determine what they talk about and their actions during your journey, so picking up a bunch of them and doing in whatever order you want could make it really hard for them to handle the banter.

But I don't think that's very realistic, the banter is more likely triggered by reaching certain parts of the map or seeing certain creatures for the first time, and things like that. Quest-based banter will most likely be for the ones with story.

Wondering if is what leads to the rest. Precisely what I said is 100% true. I am quite calm, but I'm also going to point it out when I see it so people can recognize it and avoid the pitfalls. I stand by everything I said. That IS how that happens.

Honestly it is pretty weary nowadays since even the slightest mention of Versus or
Stella
can completely derail the thread. And that's coming from both sides. Hopefully this will all go away in a year or two.

That was like a weird Mini rant to me that's y lol.

So basically you tl;dr'ed.

I call it an rpg because everybody else does

I have seen absolutely nobody else that calls it an RPG. Not like "everyone does it lol" should excuse you from using your brain for two seconds, but seeing as there's three posts from you in a row without any such perceivable brain activity it might be asking for too much.

I think it's fine. Let him call it what he wants. I don't flip out when someone calls a cookie a biscuit even though a biscuit means something different to me.

Dude chill. Let him call it what he wants. I don't flip out when someone calls a cookie a biscuit even though a biscuit means something different to me.
Do ppl really call cookies a biscuit I always thought a biscuit was used for crackers in other places of the world.

Nd guys u don't gotta quote it a bunch of times and call him out lol. Its all good it's the internet not bothered

Eh it varies but yeah I have had people call cookies a biscuit. Was completely confused the first time I heard it. But you are right about it being used for crackers around the world.

Back on topic! Anyone thinks that Cindy will still be around
during the 10 year skip?

She damn well better be, who else will tow my car when I forget where it is

Was there any explanation about the Big Bang art? i have a feeling its related to chapter 0

So who do we think's carrying Luna? Or at least I assume the blonde woman must be Luna. Why are they all riding on a giant rainbow? *puts detective cap on* What could it all mean?!

Just saw a video that confirms bahamut as a summon on YouTube the other day, was this known already, I just hope he's an actual dragon looking creature and not humanoid like itfrit (which that's actually kinda cool)

Finally the first clean footage of the German VO from the small Kingsglaive post-credit scene:

EDIT:

Man, it's mind-boggling how different Ignis' personality seems in the English script. In the German clip from Kingsglaive Ignis says to Noctis "Das ganze ist kein Gag, du Quatschkopf!", meaning something along the lines of "This whole thing is no joke, you dickhead/knucklehead/fool/moron!", which shows you they're good buddies. In the English version he says "We don't have time for all that." instead, which is so different, it's crazy. What the hell were they thinking with Ignis localization?
