What do we think we are looking at for the VC situation on NX? Nintendo really dropped the ball on Wii U with this features and was even a slow burner on 3DS. Is nintendo gonna do the slow burn method again or do you think they would start the NX off with the catalog that is already available on Wii U and add more from there?

I think the idea isnt new but they should go with a NetFlix approach, 10/$ a month and you get a selection of games to play this month plus online for your retail and download games...

If we get nothing from Nintendo today then we know there won't be a NX reveal, but we could still get a NX reveal announcement date by Friday.
I don't think so. Since Capcom expect to sell 2m units for the next MH, it means it will be at least on 3ds and MH5 would sell significantly more than that, even without a NX's version.
It will most likely be MHXG.
See, I would prefer they just keep selling them like they are because I would want to just buy a game and have it no matter what. Also, I really think them charging for online would be a bad idea.

What can't it be both? We have definitely seen their engines in the past work with handheld and tv (MH3U). If Monster Hunter is staying with Nintendo, then Nintendo would do whatever they can to get that new mainline game on their new system.

We could still get the reveal itself at any time. There's no guarantee they will announce it first, depending in part on how much they initially reveal. We could just get PR.

Well they could still sell them induvidually, but a subscription system would people get to play titles they wouldnt play otherwise...look at the charts for VC, its always the same games...

Hey... some of us are trying realllly hard to keep this thread about game speculation and such. It is just that some people are ruining it.
Yeah, youre right. I just dont think a subscription service is the way to go. It opens up a can of warms that the other consoles can't escape. There are subscriptions upon subscriptions on those systems and it brings another value discussion to the table. I would rather nintendo just get serious about their monthly Club Nintendo offerings and make it like "Buying one full retail game nets you enough coins to buy one SNES VC game."

With Tekken releasing on GameBoy Advance, DS, 3DS and Namco helping out on Smash Bros as well as well as making Pokken. A Tekken 7 port could potentially happen. Especially that it's a Q1 game and NX releases then so the game can make it for launch for NX while releasing on other systems at the same time like a normal multiplatform release. Also Unreal Engine 4 works for NX according to some rumours and Tekken 7 is running on that engine. If the NX has worse graphics due to less power Nintendo can try and get some exclusive Pokken characters to make up for it. The most suitable and popular ones I'd day for Tekken would be Charizard and Machamp.

I'm hoping the NES Mini is some sort of offshoot of their new VC system, like they've brought someone in to make a better emulator and then thought hey we could probably sell this as a different product whilst also using it for our new system. If they've got 30 games ready for the NES Mini, theres no excuse not to have all those plus way more ready for an NX launch

Honestly I don't see them localizing Mother 3 unless they do something crazy like hacking the ROM to replace the Japanese text with the English language, which is typically not what Nintendo ever does with VC releases. For Earthbound Beginnings, we were just really lucky that there was already a fully translated ROM of Mother 1 lying around.
Would be nice if Nintendo seeked out to make the fanmade Mother 3 translation official, but we certainly know how they feel about fan projects at this point, so yeah....

not me, I don't really care for the Galaxy games that much, tbh. Would rather see a return to Super Mario 64 style levels. Make them big, make them open, stuff them with all sorts of things to do.
