maybe if the dots were equidistant

Oh shit you're right, I thought they were. Oh no my OCD is kicking in, what have you done :(

This is not how it should be !
I'm aware it reflects the controller but still...

I think you also have to think of it as gaming that's not tied to your TV. Sometimes you want to play game in a different room or in your bed or on your front steps, etc.
I can totally see ads where they say "You had to stop your game when going to the toilet? Now you don't have too"...

Don't want to be a party pooper but I'm really worried at the video on 0:39. The framerate while the guy is playing BOTW on the park looks atrocious :( Like 10 fps or maybe less. Hope it was just the video and that the final product can run smoothly : /

Judging framerate this way is just wrong.

What surprised me was the design. Finally Nintendo managed to design a cool and modern gadget. Very sleek. Given how bad the mock-ups were, the result is fantastic.

Still remember when the DS was first announced and the original DS in store... Switch really impressed me

Ok that was great, a million times better than the Wii U reveal and in general it looked like they nailed the whole hybrid thing. (Thank god there is a traditional controller like the xbone tho lol)

If they get price right this thing could do very well for Nintendo. No way it's over $299 but Idk if they will actually be able to go lower, $250 would be ridiculous and an instant buy.

Looks fake, I'll wait till E3 for the real reveal.

Joking aside...why did that UBI head say this console is meant for families? This trailer showed nothing of sort.
Instant anywhere multiplayer is pretty ideal for kids. I feel like people are really underestimating that hook.

I think that perhaps we are overlooking the most awesome thing of this console, of course its hybrid nature and features are great, though what i love most about it it's that finally every Nintendo game will release on just one platform, it's always a shame that pokemon is only playable on the handheld or the main Zelda are exclusive to the home console, now instead every Nintendo game will be on Switch, of course 3ds will be supported in 2017 too but the main focus will be Switch, and this console could become in a couple of years the console with the best game line up ever

An easier way to carry around.

But I don't see this as the traditional mobile gaming of 5 minute bursts in your commute. The handheld part seems that it could work for making the use of it comfortable for as many situations as possible. Move room to room, kill longer time between appointments/classes or any other situation where schedules and responsibilities give it value, and that you're not compromising the experience in terms of top end gaming.

I'd probably prefer to save money on a desktop only version without the need of the screen components and the rest, but that's not coming before 2018.

But you compromise the experience with putting hardware in a tablet form factor.

It's quite silly in several ways to compromise in such a crucial area just for the fantasy that people can't stop playing games.

Skyrim sums it up. It just feels late, like it's what we should have got years ago.

I don't care for the portable aspect, but it'll be good if it causes Nintendo to focus on one platform.

I think they should sell as much shit individual as possible.

People are fine when told they have options, to spend a lot. Its when its a big sticker price they stay away.

I loooove it. I also just love the possibilities of having 2 mini controllers built in. Im sure that'll allow creators to design games around the simply controlled 2 player concept.

you guys realize that none of the footage is actually running on the screens in the video right? It's all composite shots. Lol at people spotting low performance in portable mode from overimposed footage.

Had my mom show my 10 year old sister the trailer, said she thought it was super cool. I can see a lot of younger kids jumping in on this for the portable/sharable nature of the console.

Never thought I'd be excited for a Nintendo console again, but here we are.

Do you guys think they will sell it packed as this?

1) Handheld only
2) Handheld + dock + plastic thing in the middle

Pro controller sold separtely

Already is looking to make the switch best Nintendo console ever since the Super Nintendo. I skipped their last shit of a console but switch had me back. Holy shit, gaming again.

Would be neat to see 3rd parties (as in Hori, Mad Catz, etc.) make their own Joy-con controllers.

Could have them with a different layout, like for a fighting game for example. Or one that just fixes that d-pad.

Looks really cool, now I just need to know the games will be there. I really hope the Switch provides a home for games that would've traditionally been handheld only games.

Like I wanna see SMT5 on the Switch.

No bald cap? Lies!
This. The Switch is exactly the console I wanted. I only play PC and N3DS so this makes sense.

That's where I'm at too.

If I were someone who was looking at the Switch as my only or primary gaming device I might think a lot different, but for my purposes a unified Nintendo library on a single device that I can play on the go or at home on the big screen is the perfect device.

Just disappointed it isn't more colourful. Hope they release differently coloured controllers soonish

Yeah, I was quite surprised with how bland it is. Maybe they'll have some color options shown at the full system conference.

So uhm, now that I saw it... can I have my direct full of games and details? Where is it Nintendo? All this wait is killing me... again!

Local multi is... I dunno... kinda 1995. Sure, it has its uses and some will like, but the world has moved on to online play. No one is saying that they have one at the expense of the other, but I don't see this as a driving feature.

It's OK that you've got no friends dude, we still like you.

Also LOL at couch multiplayer dying during the PS1 era apparently.
