Ok looking at all those pictures i have noticed the bumper and trigger buttons on the detachable pads, how on earth are they gonna be useable when detached and are they not gonna dig in your hand as they are on the wrong side.
Basically because it will have new Nintendo developed games on it. Same reason as any new Nintendo console at this point. I don't see any reasons to think it moves the needle beyond that though. Why would I buy this over a vita or 3ds or Nvidia shield?

THIS aspect is what will make the console a success.
It's what i was telling i would have done.
Let people play local multi on the go, with games that were only online before.
Now Nintendo, move your old ass and go convince big community game devs to port their games (overwatch, destiny...)
There is a market here.
The 2 mini pads idea would have potential but it just seems horrible..

Nope, that console(?) is nothing for me.
Which is sad, because I love Zelda, Smash Bros and Xenoblade yet not one console after the Gamecube did appeal to me. I bought a Wii, disliked it's Wii Remote very much and I only played on the Classic Controller. I didn't buy a WiiU und I won't buy a Switch.
I wished Nintendo would stop trying to be innovative and special. I just want to play Zelda on my TV, with a normal controller and up to date graphics. I hope I'm not tarred and feathered for this post, sorry. >__<
Not having the map and the inventory screen available like the Wii U version for Zelda....another wtf for me. Wii U may have the better version of Zelda.
hmm, my only worry now that it might need 4G connection

The trailer shows off that that's for doing two player stuff like Mario Kart or NBA, it'll be fine for that. If you're playing something like Skyrim on the go you put them together into the full controller with both sticksThe more I look at it the more I don't think making it so you can use each side of the controller as it's own controller was worth it.

Look at how small that is and how close the buttons and stick have to be. We will see how that feature is utilized, but I think I would have preferred just having a solid dpad on the controller that comes with the system. The "pro" controller looks okay enough but wouldn't have even needed it.
I doubt they have, It's Nintendo, They announce all the partners but than when it actually happens most of the partners are not there.I'm glad to see that list of partners. Here's hoping Nintendo has learned lessons, and makes it easier to work with them.
If it has great games at launch, good 3rd party support, and a decent price tag, everything else is irrelevant to me.
The handheld is sexy as fuck. Such a huge departure from the 3DS/Wii U era too, think about it
No IR remote
No touchscreen (from what is shown)
No Dual screen
No Gyro (from what is shown)
Just a pure hardcore gaming handheld ala Vita but much more powerful.
Can you believe it?
That's what I'm thinking. But I don't see the base unit going below $300.
Does the system get a performance boost when docked?
but...that was in the trailer as well?

Skyrim looks like it's running at a smooth sub-30FPS.
