Remember the posts claiming the RDR2 reveal was gonna totally outshine the NX announcement?
I'd look them up, but I don't want to wade through the flood of Switch threads to find them![]()
3 minute trailer released 8 hours agoSource?
detachable joy con controllers are stupid and unnecessary. Who plays together on a 7 inch screen.
Everything is fine I guess. 720p screen would be an ideal res of the ARM(?) hw power it has.
Has the docking station additional hw power. It would increase cost if you need to make graphics twice as in 2 socs
Why reveal the console in a 3 minute video. We still barely know anything about it. Do a conference explain the console, specs and show more upcoming games especially third party which Nintendo lacks the majority of their support.

Source?
Q. Why is it called the Nintendo Switch?
A. Because when you see it, you turn 360° and switch to a different console!
Nintendo always waits to reveal a lot of those things.I still don't like how this was revealed. I feel blue balls since aside from the hardware and game teases we got nothing on launch lineup, price, or release date. It should've been all at once to get the message out there since this is their big moment.

I keep seeing this. Meanwhile, outside, I see tons of people with big ass Iphone 6/7 plus phones and Samsung Notes. I see families with a kid holding a tablet in tow.
I think these comments are now reaching. Not to mention the tons of people who go out and about with small backpacks and the like. Come on now.
I feel like I'm missing a glorious inside joke.
Possibly. As someone mentioned in some other thread today, touchscreens are likely cheaper to produce since they're more commonly needed at small sizes today. This thing doesn't really need a touchscreen, does it?
Would that make it cheaper?
Did you guys see what Laura said?

I believe the Switch supports swappable new controller sides. Suspect they're not mentioning yet to keep messaging clear.

Heard of the xbox 360?
but we don't have the technical data, right??
I am looking for a line like this.
"Switch has this RAM, this CPU, that GPU and therefore, PS4/X1 games like we know them (Souls games, for example)) are just not possible, therefore 3rd party support is not only doubtful, it's not possible at all".

They may not want to do it though, since that leaves a lot of room open for games are apps that could translate poorly to the docked experience.

I better get a splatoon themed controller. And a Zelda one. If there's a Xenoblade one I'll freak. C'mon Nintendo this is a goldmine.
I'm sure this has been posted:

Hope she's right. Price info would be enlightening.
Yes! Exactly what we were hoping. I imagine youre psyched by today's news, BTW.![]()
But turning 360° leaves you facing the same direction you were before.
Thinking about it now, the 360 name was really weird in retrospect.

What's the joke ffs?
I see what you mean. Revealing it without games feels like it rings a little hollow. Waiting all this time and then only teasing feels a little mean.I still don't like how this was revealed. It's supposed to look like that Loss web comic, where the guys walks into to find out about his wife's miscarrige. No idea why that thing is well known or reference ever, but it seems to be a recurring joke. What's the joke ffs?
Touch screens are way too ubiquitous these days to remove it.
Lmao

Sure. But in the meantime I gather that we're jettisoning the old architecture that saw the Wii and Wii U have complete backwards compatibility with their predecessors.
