We can't say there's 'absolutely no improvements'. While we don't exactly have side by side comparisons, outlets which saw the Pro version at TGS said they noticed immediate improvements, things like draw distance, better locked frame rate and IQ advantages over the normal PS4 version.
So, I guess that's still something than just upscaling to 4K.
For me, it depends on how significantly they are able to improve PSVR games.
It's one of the reasons why i buy a Switch and no Pro (as a student i can't buy every console version anymore and tv so i have to make choices) but i agree that post was kinda rude and off topic.
Anyway the ps4 pro will run most new games above 1080p, that would let older hd tv's just run them at 1080p i guess or whatever your maximum resolution is.
No. Buy a Switch.
You will find out in 2-3 years when the first pro exclusive games will be released.
I assume Destiny will get a ps4 pro patch too.
in the end the PRO is an investment. You wont get day one mind blowing improvements, but in the long term this machine will shine.
sell the old PS4 now to get maximum resale value. We know the pro will get better.
Pretty much. Not many games will take full advantage of it early on, but when devs get time to add Pro into the workflow properly there'll be a huge difference for 1080p users.
If the pa4 you currently have is working fine along with your 1080p screen - No.
These outlets saw the Pro version in 1080 or 4K?
Sure, if you don't have a 4k display the benefits of upgrading your console diminish. The benefit of greater graphical output and picture quality are not worth the price for recieving a slightly higher fidelity on a 1080 display.Care to elaborate?

I would even argue that since Horizon isn't native 4k that the 1080p mode would look better even when compared to the 4k mode. Maybe there's more to it but you can clearly see image artifacts in 4k mode which is completely gone when you downsample the image to 1080p.

I've seen this picture a thousand times and my jaw still drops. Horizon is going to look amazing in 1080p!
It depends on what your expectations are going to be like. If you are expecting tons of new affects and performance enhancements, you will be disappointed. If you want to take advantage of a 4k display or enjoy super sampling, it is worth it. I think anyone without a ps4 should pay the extra money for a ps4, but not current owners with a 1080p display.
What's your definition of "slightly" because supersampling can be a big deal...not to mention it seems that quite a few games are getting pretty legit upgrades when rendered in 1080p
I agree the pro looks better, but surely you aren't suggesting this is drastic or radically different.yeah for me prersonally I wouldn't consider this "slightly":

Of course. "Mountains out of mole hills."For some it is slightly, for others it's significant.
If you don't own a PS4, there shouldn't be anyone stopping theirselves from getting one. The origional ps4 did well at $399.
"Slightly"
Killing Floor 2 Pro version has Ultra textures, RotTR gets extra graphical settings enhanced at 1080p30, Paragon gets huge boost in foliage etc, The Witness is getting increased draw distance...
This mole hill of yours is the reason why people buy those expensive GPUs in the first place. Downplay it as you want but having nearly 2,5 times the power of regular ps4 will always translate to better IQ and detail.I agree the pro looks better, but surely you aren't suggesting this is drastic or radically different.
Of course. "Mountains out of mole hills."
Wouldn't it be smarter for you folks without a 4K television thinking that you are future proofing or will need one in future wait for price drops or different models and make do with what you have now? I mean you are not even going to take advantage of the greatest feature right away. If you plan on getting a 4K tv next year by then maybe you'll see special bundles. You just know Destiny 2 will have a wicked PS4 Pro bundle etc.
I would say same for Scorpio. Makes no sense to get it you don't have a 4K television etc. HDR, these things are the entire point no?
