It still baffles me to no end how Respawn locked themselves into Origin exclusivity despite not being owned by EA. Steam would have helped for sure, despite it being the home and field of CoD.
So...it's okay to shit on other releases because you need to justify your own purchases?

How many are playing MWR? They bagged 20 extra bucks with that move.Infinite Warfare is at 12k players on Steam, so I don't know if I'd call it their "home and field."

I pre-ordered & bought TF2.

*waiting for EA access vault*
I suspect others are doing the same. I'm sure this sort of rental service hurts game sales eventually.
Studio performance evaluations are made partly on sales, no? West and Zampella's creative freedom is contingent on the success of their projects. If their game flops, EA has an excuse (maybe a codified one) to exercise more control over Respawn.
Alright, then you need to start using more than a single sentence to back your position because you're literally all over the place in this discussion.
I want TF2, but my plate is pretty full with Civ VI and Overwatch right now. I might get in on Battlefield 1 a bit too.
TF2 sounds like it would've been a perfect March title for me. It still might be at a discounted price to boot, actually.
Video games are in a fucked up place when you're a commercial failure after a week.
wait, TF2 only sold 1/4 of TF1? just crazy
Really? Wishing a game sells poorly? This is is tasteless.
I told a friend of mine that EA absolutely fucked this game. He told me no they did nothing wrong and that quality would do well over time. I wish I wasn't so right about this.
Respawn were the ones who chose the release date.
Because TF2's a shining example of people not caring about that.
They care about the money they have to spend.
In UK...not worldwide
They did not, that was EA's decision, since they are the publisher.

Why? I don't owe Respawn or EA anything. I'm hoping it does poorly enough to go on clearance so I can save money.
Sorry I didn't pre-order the deluxe edition blindly
That article is forever awesome for talking about game companies swinging their dicks at the market

even if it sold the same as TF1, I guess it would still be a commercial failure
I blame EA for this, wth were they thinking?
It's an amazing game that deserves a lot better. I didn't even like the first Titanfall but this one has me hooked completely - the campaign and more importantly, the multiplayer.
I'm glad it's a great game. It doesn't change the fact that I want to save money on it, allowing me to buy other great games as well.
How big is the community for Rainbow Six now? Is there a list similar to BFstats to show the positive impact of those amazing strides?
It's an apt description by the decisions you see these big companies like EA and activision make.I too, was impressed by the diction.
I'm still not following.
It's an uphill battle after a Xbox-exclusive game with MP only to suddenly try to change the perception of the brand and product to be marketable to PS4 and PC players who are also interested in singleplayer.
Titanfall 1 did quite well. 10 million, IIRC.
Only it wasn't shallow. Particularly after the expansions hit.
TF2 selling poorly means it drops in price quicker.
That's what ppl who're interested in it, but bought BF1/IW, want.
Simple.
Nope. 10 million was the number of total players not sales.Titanfall 1 did quite well. 10 million, IIRC.

Boom. Not sure why this is so difficult to comprehend.
I don't really care about EA's stock price. I care about my own wallet.
Titanfall 1 was a great game. I sunk a TON of hours into it. Unfortunately I didn't care for the Titanfall 2 tech test. I think that was a big mistake for the state the game was in. Sounds like it's better now, but... I didn't like it then and I'm so into Overwatch and R6: Siege that I'm just taking a pass now. If I hadn't played the tech test I probably would have preordered it because of my love for Titanfall 1... Shrug.
And yeah, EA really screwed it releasing right next to Battlefield, Call of Duty etc.
