Wish we could have a ranking of the most recommended 4K TVs, as well as whatever pros/cons they have.
maybe a poll to add all the tvs mentioned and people can vote to the one they own. At least that would give a good point to go from.

I might still bite the bullet and get a KS8000 this weekend from Best Buy. What are BB's policies regarding price drops from now until Black Friday?
And are there any TVs on sale at Best Buy that might be better than the KS8000 (while costing a little more)?
And is 60 inches highly recommended for 4K? My current TV is 55, but I don't mind going 5 inches more if it's that big a difference.
And again, for reference this is my current TV: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BCGRLUI/?tag=neogaf0e-20
I could probably sell it on Craigslist for roughly the amount listed here, so just help educate me on picking the best TV within the price range (or if I should still wait it out).
So I've been in to John Lewis in town and pervd over the Sony and Samsung screens. All beautiful. Then I notice that the 55" XD93 on display doesn't look great.
It only had an rf lead plugged in. No hdmi. Just rf. Like. What.
Wife is saying wait for the new year to buy a bigger one in a sale lol.

Mine shipped as well. Through AGS...tracking just says the 'Alerted: in transit' and then 'Status:in transit'
Not sure exactly what that means. Just hope I get it by Thursday for the Pro. I got shipping notification on 10/31.
Edit: Curious what the 'departed' part of your tracking implies?
That's a good idea. Really want to narrow the choices down.
I still haven't heard of any OLEDs that get the job done without there being significant lag when using HDR. It sounds like the KS8000 is the champ as far as LEDs go.
Best thing to do is call them up to see where it is and to find out when it will be arriving in the final hub. Once it is in the local hub call again and schedule the delivery. Mine sat in the hub for over a day with no action until I called them and arranged delivery.
Got the B6 calibrated and have been sampling some UHD discs. I installed the latest firmware via thumb drive which helps to correct some HDR stuttering issues amongst other things.
After checking out a myriad of content.
Good christ.
WORTH.
EVERY.
PENNY.
No hyperbole, DEMOLISHES the KS8000 I owned. If money isn't a concern - OLED or bust, IMO. I'm utterly and completely sold right now.
A few things:
- I've read on a few forums that you should run the clean screen noise function right out of the gate and after doing it - I completely agree. The TV had some serious uniformity issues out of the box with a grey test screen showing serious banding. The screen noise function took about an hour but it resolved 95% of the issues including some weird highlight issues at the bottom edge of the set. There's still some vignetting at the corners but I can completely live with it.
- I've never and I mean NEVER seen black bars in film this completely and inky black. It's mind blowing.
- HDR = GODLY.
WANT. MORE. CONTENT.
The Pro can't get here soon enough.

It was some German outlet with an eBay storefront that only ships within Germany. They had it for close to 2000 Euro (which is a great deal for EU). I know someone else that got an even better deal on an E6, though.Just watched your 4k TVs video. Really curious about that great OLED deal you got![]()
Thank you or the info! Did you just call AGS directly for both calls?
Once you arranged delivery, how fast was it able to get to you? I spoke to AGS the other day and they said it should be at the local hub on Monday..Think I could get it by Thursday for the Pro?
Anyone happen to know the difference between the B6 and this?

I might end up getting that if it's the cadillac of 4K TVs. It's got 4K, OLED and 3D, the latter which I don't use a lot but would hate to give up the 3D movies in my collection.
24 months no finance plus the $1300 or so I'd get from putting my current TV on Craigslist would be easy enough to set up. I just want the continued opinions from people here.
If I'm upgrading I want to make sure it's high grade all the way.

If you search around, there are deals to be had!
...of course, if you live in the US, you'll find better deals anyway. Europe just gets screwed on pricing.
Yes, I called the 1-800 number on the bottom of the tracking page, they will route you to the local hub to arrange delivery.
Mine arrived at the closest hub on Monday and I called them Tuesday morning and was able to arrange delivery for Wednesday. So if you see yours will be at the hub on Monday call on that day to setup delivery. You should definitely have it before Thursday. I think they also give you option of picking it up from the hub so if you have a way to transport it that is another option.
Whats the input lag for 4k HDR with the B6?
It's the higher up model. Adds 3D as noted, uses a bit of a different processor but most have said that all of 2016's OLEDs have nearly identical PQ. The E6 also tested more steady in so far as input lag as opposed to variable lag measured on the B6. Something to keep in mind.

That variable input lag is pretty frightening. I could deal with a higher static number, but it bouncing all over the place is shit
So pretty much no downside with this TV?
Input lag is between the 40's (SDR) and high 60 (HDR). I don't have an issue with that at all. If you're more sensitive to it, you might. So pretty much no downside with this TV?
I see B, C, E 6
What the hell happened to G6 from LG?
67 ms input lag in HDR mode is a pretty big downside for gaming
Pretty big downside for competitive gaming.
Outside of competitive gaming its entirely subjective. If you mostly play single player games or casual multiplayer then it might not be that big of a deal for you.

Oh fantastic! I might call again this evening before the weekend just to make sure it is still on track to arrive to the local hub on Monday.
Did your tracking ever show "arrived at local hub" or did you have to find out just by calling?

JL are pretty good. Last time I was shopping for a TV I brought a USB stick with videos on and played with my shortlisted sets for a while. Also tweaked the settings some.

There are games besides online PVP where poor input lag can greatly degrade the experience. But of course there are many titles out there where input lag matters less, and as well some people just don't seem to feel it much.
But he asked if there are downsides and I answered him.
For an approximate input lag test you can go here and run the input lag test and take a picture on your phone, then subtract the 2 numbers. Difference will be approximate lag. Funny my tv is only about 50ms, and I've been gaming with no problem on it. I only wish I had the extra cash to shell out for an OLED. The gf is not pleased

Yeah JL themselves are usually ok and I love the experience of shopping there. The only communication is "Good afternoon sir". Bliss.
However today I got the Samsung Genuis, very polite and didn't pester but also didn't know anything that wasn't in his 3 minute briefing.
Need to have a look at home. I can get a 55" or probably larger in there as the room is big enough but I have floor standers and they currently flank the TV and have no room to move them out wider. So I'd have to have another option.
I still don't know if I can buy a Samsung but it might be my best option.
I'm *squeezing* a 50" into a recessed TV unit, so a 49" should be fine but I want a 55". I think I can just rejig the ikea units a bit and get a wider TV bench in there. Would also have the benefit of opening up my stereo speakers - only KEF eggs but the L/R front pair are in cupboards and it's messy to open them up constantly.
I am recognising the symptoms of starting to read reviews and impressions threads, so I think the slippery slope has begun once more. Only question is what I do with my (perfectly usable) current TV. Too big to give to my parents, my kids don't have TVs in their rooms (and too big). Might get a couple hundred quid for it?
Sony 55XD8577 for £999 or Sony 55XD8005 for £949? Don't know what the XD8577 adds compared to the 8005 (which I assume is the same as the 800 in the US?)
And is the Panasonic 58DX750B decent? I think that's the one digital foundry bought? £1049 for 58" seems OK value, although might be a bit big for our room
Damn it. Seriously considering just saving pennies instead of getting something this month.

What two numbers am i subtracting exactly? This is the HTML input lag test right?
Slickdeals has the B6/C6 for $1499 via Ebay (Adorama). Figured I'd post it here for those that may interested:

This is a pretty great deal right? Should I add the 2 year squaretrade?
