Subscribed. And something my brother posted today:

I mean this weekend will probably be the second biggest weekend as far as gun sales are concerned. Only next weekend would be a bigger weekend I'd think.

Same here. Already voted for Hilldawg, but there are so many trumpians down here in Medina County.

My county is as of the last consensus 86.4% white, 7.2% black or African American, 2.9% Asian, 0.3% American Indian..ect and on top of that just a point or shy of 60% Republican. I want to move to a more blue part of the state so bad.

Okay but yeah why is NH red in the first place? Was it red in 2012 and 2008?

NH is red because its a predominately white state that is significantly more conservative than the rest of the northeast.

But the last time it went red was 2000, and its not going to happen this time either.

Is that what those crossed ones are? I thought that meant those states were proportional or something lol.

Yes, Nebraska and Maine regionally allocate 3 votes between them to congressional districts. The rest of their votes are statewide. One Maine vote may go red and one Nebraska vote could go blue.

I know the vote is shaped by demographics, but it's surrounded on the left and right by whiter states (the whitest in the union) that will go blue (or in Maine's case perhaps blue with 1 red stripe). Demographics don't apply in the Northeast the same way as the rest of the country.

New Hampshire is just different.

I had to really work to stop myself from giving the Queen Texas, but my desire to be right overwhelmed my optimism.

I think if the margins had stayed at the +6 to +9 range for Hillary, Arizona goes blue, Georgia is one of the closest races, and Texas is within 2-3 points for Hillary. Alaska probably flips too.

Anyone in Arizona? You guys think it's likely prop 205 & 206 will pass?

Looking at the environment:
206 - easily yes - the arguments against were all rehashes from last time we raised the wage. They failed before and will again.

205 - lean yes - the late money did well to muddy the waters on pot for PTSD which is where the core of the crossover support came from. This one probably tracks the Presidential race well in that if Trump wins AZ big, it loses. If Trump wins by 3 or less or loses, it wins.

If Trump gets over 240 EVs I'll shame tag myself

I mean, I said from the time she was confirmed for Democrat nomanee shed win. GOP has major demographic problems Trump has just made worse.

My entirely gut-feeling prediction? A Hillary blowout, possibly bigger than even some of the predictions think it may be. Between the prevalence of the internet, the apparent increase in voting and the general effect of galvanization against the Alt-right and Trump.

had to hear the same "both candidates suck" bullshit on Friday after I went out to early vote. I just can't.

American's are too comfortable with laziness when it comes to politics... or their own biases. No critical thinking whatsoever. Like Chipotle had their food safety issue, there were people I know who just vowed never to eat their again. And their basis for their decision had to be the fact about how frequently it came up in media, even though if they would fucking read a few articles they would have an idea of how illogical and ridiculous they are being. I did enjoy those short lines though.

Maine hasn't gone red since 1988 and New Hampshire since 2000.

Right, it's not likely when the alternative is so extreme, but I was only allocating one vote from Maine red. I think CNN (for example) is trying to make this a bit closer than it is but....we will see and if nothing else it gets people out to vote, right?

However, I'm pretty sure my map is more realistic than any that show Georgia blue in 2016.

Maybe in 4 years time! :)
I'm worried that it will swing back to being hard red next time and the only reason its relatively close is because of how much people hate trump

If some typical republican runs next time I bet they'll win in margins Texas usually gets

Its unusual for one party to occupy the White House 3 terms in a row. It will likely swing back to GOP control unless Hillary doesn't fuck it up.

Three (poor, restless) sleeps to go.

After a brutal presidential campaign that's felt like it's been on forever (seriously - Clinton announced her candidacy on April 12, 2015, and Trump on June 15, 2016
2015, I'm guessing.

I'd like to be wrong about OH and IA, though. Especially IA.

Checking in with my final prediction.

Had to really restrain myself and not give Hillary Arizona. Feel like I should have given Ohio to Trump because they deserve each other, but meh.

You're giving Hillary Nebraska's statewide vote? Lololol try again. (No really, I think you messed up, she'll only get Omaha's one vote at best.)

Man, some of you really think Hillary will win that easily? I think you guys will be severely disappointed. Not surprising though, considering this site leans mostly to the left.

I'm even afraid Trump might actually be able to win this one. Hope not though.

Really wish us Puerto Ricans could vote in the general elections....Hillary would get the votes for sure.

There's nothing saying otherwise, people's intuitions and/or fears aren't enough.
