Crazy. My card shows the charge as 'pending' still, but being on backorder makes sense. I'm actually not in a rush to get it so no biggie. But after spending $1K+ I'd like to know when to expect my stuff lol.
Does the Sony XBR43X800D's Game Mode disable HDR?
Does the Sony XBR43X800D's Game Mode disable HDR?
I posted it in another thread but watch the video "Grand Teton 8K" in the youtube app on your televisions. And keep in mind it looks like that without your television utilizing HDR. One of the best demos I have seen. I wish more would upload things at greater bitrates.
So the LG E6 I ordered is going to have 3 HDMI ports, according to the specs. This means that the three ports would be filled up by the following:
1. PS4 Pro
2. Home Theater Receiver (for audio)
3. Xbox One S (once I get one, for 4K movies)
Unfortunately, that leaves no open ports for my other devices. On my current TV I use the following two things for extra ports:
1. My Home Theater Receiver (which has four HDMI ports)
2. My vanilla HDMI switch (three ports)
Here's my question: if I were to put the Xbox One S, where its only 4K benefit is 4K movies, in either my receiver or HDMI switch, will I still get the full picture benefit? Or does it have to be specifically connected to the TV or a compliant 4K switch?
If it's the latter, then what's the cheapest alternative for a 4K-compliant HDMI switch?
Furthermore, is there any benefit to plugging in non-4K devices (like my Wii U) directly to the TV and with the required HDMI cable? Or would the upscale benefit be the same regardless?
It depends on your receiver. Which one do you have?
So it seems like GAF's pick for best 4K HDR gaming set is the Samsung KS8000. Do you guys think I should pick this up now, or wait for a possible Black Friday drop?

there's no way that there's going to be a price lower than the $750 this was going for with the weekend promo code that GAF was all over.
just keep an eye out for good deals on it where it's $1,000 or less.
Hi everyone. Anyone have tips on this TV? https://www.sony.it/electronics/televisori/xd7505-xd7005-series/specifications
worth as an entry 4k hdr point or better to skip?
cause price is decently appealing to me, 1.000 euros for 55"
For the Sony, the XD80xx seems to be the best as an entry level set. Although in the U.K. you seem to be able to get an XD83xx or XD85xx for the same price
Thx. To find about the input lag what do I have to look in the specs of the TV? I can't find anything on the official pages of those sony tvs -.-
Just realised I have an Xrite i1Display Pro calibrator sitting here and I have no idea how to use it on my TV lol.
Easy on my PC, just plug it in and let it do.
I think we need a calibration thread.
So I called Samsung support and they said the 55" KS8000 wasn't showing as backordered. Said something about more stock arriving at their warehouses today and that it would likely ship in a few days and arrive next week.
It seems that the Samsung EPP deal is still working for the 65" KS8000. Could someone send me an invite please?
I have a confirmation number and my card was charged, but I'm still not able to look up my order. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. Fingers crossed
Is 55" a good size for 4K? Worth seeing the benefits?
I just want the high res that 4k brings, should I get a cheap 4k TV or wait for HDR?
Ya the 55 is on sale. I was just in Costco yesterday and it was sitting in the doorbuster position just inside at under 1000... 979 I believe it was. This is in the San Diego area.
The 65" was still priced at 1679, and their upcoming sale (11/18) is only going to lower that by 200, so I am completely stoked I got in on this for 1279. It's like getting my PS4 Pro for free.
I starting to think go big or go home style. This is the next size up from the tv I was recommended. I take it it's still a good buy?

Also probly go with a ~£100 soundbar
Anyone ordered from samsung on saturday and they shipped?
It still says: preparing for shipment.
Samsungs website is pretty shitty, when you try to log in to your account and moving around. I get logged out for no reason as Im clicking thru my account.
However, if look up the order number manually, and you should be able to see it.
Still a good buy. Although the 55" is only a bit more..
Stahp, id rather not go in dept over this (plus for 6 more inches that's £150, Nearly twice the price from 43 to 49 inches)
When is your Xd93 arriving?
Had a look at some TVs in John Lewis. Not a great help as being a Sunday it was busy and they didn't have any remote controls out to play with. An assistant tried to persuade me on the merits of the Sony XD93 talking about contrast and black levels (good start), and even set up the same feed on the XD85 next to it to compare - pointing out lack of detail in shadows and lack of brightness on some knives (sushi preparation demo clip). Which is lovely, but I have no idea whether both TVs were actually set up properly so not a fair comparison.
My wife did say 'I don't think we can fit a 55" can we?' - to which I casually mentioned I think there are ways to do it. She then asked why I was thinking about this now, and I replied about 4K content slowly being more available. Seeds nicely planted I think..let the slow burn begin. Next step is to talk about reworking the living room TV unit to open things up a bit and let the speakers be more easily heard...with the side effect of now having space for a 55" set
TBH in a bright store environment, showing carefully shot slow motion demo footage they all looked good. The xd800 has some decent reviews and lower input lag so although it probably has slightly worse blacks/contrast I expect I'd be happy enough with it.
Looking forward to DBT85's impressions about input lag on the XD93. That might sway me.
Resolves the juddering issue when using a UHD Set-top box
Reduces input lag for HDR game mode (4K HDR TV models only: X85C, S85C, X91C, X90C, X93C, X94C, SD85, XD85, XD94, XD93)
Improves the stability of the TV

Is this tv hdr? Some websites say it is, some don't mention it. If not are there any good 500 euros max hdr tv's?
