United States Election: Nov. 8, 2016 |OT| Hate Trumps Love

Just voted in the first election in my life! I voted Dem from top to bottom, and will be returning for the midterms!

I met the Dem House representatives (who are running) from my state and spoke to a lot of supporters and it was really great. I had a lot of fun and was glad to get out there early and speak to everyone after I got my vote in.

Took 2 hours to vote this morning, and the line looked even longer at 9:30 then it did when I got there at 7:30. As annoying as it was to wait in the cold for so long, it was cool to see so many people out to vote.

This the first presidential election that I'm able to vote, and I did my part turning Ohio blue. I just hope there's enough people out there doing the same!

You did good Alucard. I cant ask you to change your personal politics overnight but you recognized what a Trump vote means right now for this country and you came through. This is more important than politics. This election is about the livelihood and well being of millions of people. White, black, brown, straight, gay, trans, men, women, everyone.

LOL

I'm just asking questions here. I want to believe! hehe At the end of the day what matters is that Trump loses.

Nice to see everyone here giving Hillary energy like

(if someone doesn't fully animate a parody of this within the next few months I'll be dissapointed lol)

Anyways, voted Hillary for Maryland!

Acculard voted for hillary? i can't believe it
I can... I mean look at Trump.

Even if you hate Hillary with the passion of a thousand burning suns, it boils down to (and here placing myself as a hater, which I'm not): Equally corrupt with one suspected for decades of personal enrichment for political favors or other shaddy stuff, and having a strong tendancy for secrecy, the other factually known to be a corruptor benefiting from payolas made to politicians, and an illegal Foundation to boot, on top of being a serial liar.
BUT, as human beings, one has spent decades proving she is a competent politician that get things done with some questionable judgements at times (but also cleared by dozens of investigations and pannels from Congress to DOJ, State Dept and FBI), the other is a racist xenophobic bigot, misogynist with an admitted tendancy toward sexually assaulting women (including several allegations of rape), serial rage tweeter throwing insults commonly and a very thin skin who has refused to present his taxes and could have links to the Kremlin.

When it all comes down to it, in the voting booth, and simply put, one, Clinton, has the temperment to serve as the commander in chief. The other, Trump, does not.

Now about Alucard (and don't get me wrong, his alleged vote thrills me), it's his down ballot vote that makes me wonder if he hasn't been trolling this entire time.

Congrats, that sounds awesome and welcome to the process!

I have a confession GAF. I was going in with the plan to put a check next to Queen Hillary, but then I saw something I hadn't seen before. There was something called the Natural Law Party. How could I not vote for something named the Natural Law Party?! I checked that box faster than a cop pulls a gun on an unarmed minority, and left the polls satisfied I did my civic duty the right way.

"The U.S. Postal Service turned a profit in a financial quarter for the first time in five years, though President Obama still proposed the agency slash 12,000 employees in his fiscal 2017 budget."

slash those jobs baby so the private sector can make up for them.

My experience in Huntingdon County PA, a very rural county.

I got to my polling place around 8 AM, I was #64, There was a very short line.
My grandmother who went to vote with me asked them if it was normal to have a line at all.
The ladies told us that they usually don't get this many even by 7PM, there are usually only 4-5 voters by 8 AM.

The person running for my state representative was outside handing out pamphlets to vote for him, which was cool to see. He's probably going to lose though sadly, since he is the democrat.

I did hate the fact that there were three positions to vote for that had Republicans running unopposed. I could have written in funny people, but I had to get to work and just wanted to get out as fast as possible.

Is Obama on the ballot?

Oh god, I hope so. I would elect him forever.

Trying to bury myself in work today so time goes by faster, but it's not really working. I already voted for Hillary back in October so I have nothing more to do other than follow the news and encourage others to go out and vote if they haven't yet.

Anecdotal but, I personally don't know anyone voting for Hilary except 1 person.

I also know 90% minorities; all voting Trump.

A lot of people I know wont say who they're voting for but they constantly bash Hilary so its obvious. I feel like there's a lot of Trump supporters that are afraid to say so until today. We'll see.

There is definitely unspoken support for Trump. I noticed more of it trickling out during these last few days. Hope we don't get some kind of repeat of the gore/bush election. Way to many fucking people I did not expect to support Trump some how got swayed his way this last week or so. Its almost like some kind of "in" crowd bullshit. People are legit looking for reasons NOT to vote Hillary and reasons TO vote Trump. Even damn Goolge trends is showing surges for those search terms as of late.

I know this is likely not definitive, but over at Slate, Votecastr has Clinton ahead in Ohio, Florida, Iowa(!), Nevada and Wisconsin, but slightly behind in Pennsylvania. Also ahead in Colorado. All states Trump needs to have a shot at 270. Very early still of course with early votes between 20ish and 50ish percent over total 2012 levels.

You did good. No one can blame you, really.

As long as it ain't Trump, I forgive you.

Let's all make some appreciative posts about all those people who did not at any point spend half a year either pretending or actively planning to vote for a white nationalist. Because you know what? They're the real heroes.
Hey, I love you guys. It's just more shocking here. Man bites dog vs dog bites man and all that.

who knows how accurate Votecastr will turn out to be, but they are reporting...

Very disappointed today. I'm currently living in Canada and mailed in my absentee ballot request but never got my ballot. I'm registered in New York so Hillary should take it there but I still wanted to vote.

Interesting. Well good on you for voting, if Alucard can get praised for trolling us I guess this should also be praised.
