Doing my part here in a few minutes, me and the sibling going to put in two more votes for the Hilldawg. Sadly I'll be working Afternoon shift today so I likely won't be back home in time for election results (11:05pm EST is when I get done).
Be glad, you get to dodge all the anxiety of waiting for everything to be counted and seeing who gets what. You get to skip right to the results already being known!

Less than 10 minute wait at 6:30AM in IL.
Had a similar wait up here in NoVa. Anyone worried about how fast the lines are moving up here in Virginia don't worry about it, they seem to be moving things along really well.

She would have to vote in the county where she's registered. At that location, she can update her registration to her new address.
Ok, thanks. So she can go to where she's registered, bring a bill showing her current address (in a different county), they'll update her address and let her vote right there (even though she lives in a different county)?

+1 for team "Ohio is a heart"

All you whiners bitching about your stickers when ours here in Missouri is the plainest shit ever.

Yeah. Well we don't even get stickers. Then again we just fill out the ballot at home while we can research what we don't know and then mail it in or out it in a ballot box at our leisure.

Not at all, not for supporting Trump.
One of the pre-existing conditions that would make a person vote for Trump on the other hand...yeah they can.
Yeah, there is some correlation between supporting Trump and bans, not causation.

They kinda eventually end up doing something legitimately banworthy

Louisiana here. Took about an hour in line this morning to vote. Trump is gonna win here regardless but I hope a Dem can win the Senate runoff even though I expect Kennedy to get it.

Took me a fucking hour and a half in GA

+1 for hilldawg
Wrote in Michelle Gates for Senate, obv Isaakson will win but I wanted to show support, i like the cut of her jib and want to see more like-minded individuals run for office.

Well it's not like you don't get almost a month to early vote. But yes it's bullshit. Reminder people. They can't close if your in line! Don't leave the line.

Not all states allow early voting. PA for example allows NO remedies for people who cannot vote directly on election day unless they qualify for an absentee ballot which only applies if you are travelling out of state and qualify by a certain deadline.

Some polling places have lines of over 90+ people here and others you can just get in and out in two minutes. Sucks for you if you're in the 90+ line.

I feel like that's part of the fun! My family and coworkers don't agree with me, but part of the fun for me is watching the results trickle in while watching everyone's panties get in a bunch. If I had a spare day off I'd make a holiday out of it. Oh well, I get a half hour lunch so maybe I'll get an opportunity to check GAF on my team lead's computer to see how things are coming along.

I was just arguing with a Trump supporting colleague (I know) and asking him how he can reconciliate Trump's claim of wanting to remove special interests from Washington with the fact that he is in favor of Citizens United and tax cuts on the rich.

Then my colleague asked for proof that Trump is in favor of Citizens United and other than the bad look of hiring the Citizens United head as deputy campaign manager, I could not find anything more tangible.

Did my Google Fu fail me or is the media so incompetent that they never asked Trump about his stance on this critical matter throughout a full year of election coverage?

My ballot:

In the end I couldn't pull the trigger on Trump. While he's someone who I really wanted to vote for on an emotional level, you have to realize that he simply isn't a true believer, just another GOP snake oil salesman, only more bombastic and less intelligent. I am glad he ran, and I hope his movement continues to grow and eventually pushes the Grover Norquist chamber of commerce types out of the party. This time it was free trade, in four years it might be regressive taxation, or lax financial regulation, or labor rights. When the day comes that the base fully awakens and forces the party to move beyond trickle down and hostility to labor, I’ll be ready to support them, but until then I’ll continue to begrudgingly vote for Democrats.

(And yes, I totally broke state law by taking this photo)

People that use the excuse of not voting because they are not in a swing state don't seem to get that there are local elections too, which might have an even bigger impact on day to day life.

My ballot included 26 local measures and 16 state measures, plus 6 local offices! Skipping out on that because California is a lock would be insane.

Cross posting from the PoliGaf thread:

+1 for Clinton/Kander/Koster in Missouri. Was in and out in 5 minutes. Would have been shorter but I had to stop and give one of the poll workers a hug. She was my high school Social Studies teacher.

Wow

Which D did you vote for for the sentate? I haven't been enough attention to who I should be voting for there.

Your guess is probably as good as mine. I couldn't find a whole lot relevant info about anyone and there were so many people running this year. I went with Fayard based solely on an equal pay for women position, and the fact that Campbell has been in politics in Louisiana as long as I've been alive.

This is the biggest turn around i've ever seen on GAF

Damnit. I wanted to wake up early and vote right when my polling place opened at 7. Here it is now 10AM almost and by the time I am showered and dressed, people will be voting on their lunch breaks.
