Any of you states still doing polling stations need to get vote-by-mail.. the best way to vote is having it mailed to you and doing it in the privacy of your own home.

I voted weeks ago for fuck's sake.

I voted weeks ago for fuck's sake.

My absentee ballot got lost in the mail so I tried. I ended up going last Friday anyways so it's fine.

Took me a little over an hour to get through the line at my location in Indiana. This is my third time voting at that polling spot and it's never taken close to this long.

There was a cop behind me wearing a pretty offensive "breathe easy. obey the law," shirt. It was really hard to stand there for an hour without saying something or getting into an argument.

Are you sure you didn't mishear them? Could they have been trying to explain the straight ticket option?

They definitely shouldn't be electioneering (i.e. trying to get you to vote for a particular candidate/party,) but I'm not sure how telling you to not cross party lines (without specifying a particular party) would do that.

What is the straight ticket option? They weren't trying to get me to vote for a particular candidate, they just told me "not to cross party lines" and I was kind of taken aback.

Maybe they were trying to explain this straight ticket option?

Can you elaborate?

The person who handed me my ballot told me to not cross party lines when I vote and to vote all for the same party.

Is this a thing? I've voted in 3 elections now and never had anyone tell me that.

I'd report that person asap. Telling you that is illegal as fuck.

My ballot:

In the end I couldn't pull the trigger on Trump. While he's someone who I really wanted to vote for on an emotional level, you have to realize that he simply isn't a true believer, just another GOP snake oil salesman, only more bombastic and less intelligent. I am glad he ran, and I hope his movement continues to grow and eventually pushes the Grover Norquist chamber of commerce types out of the party. This time it was free trade, in four years it might be regressive taxation, or lax financial regulation, or labor rights. When the day comes that the base fully awakens and forces the party to move beyond trickle down and hostility to labor, I’ll be ready to support them, but until then I’ll continue to begrudgingly vote for Democrats.

(And yes, I totally broke state law by taking this photo)

Holy shit what a swirl!! The true pivot 0_o

I still like the tradition of voting in person on election day. I grew up going with parents when they voted and now I get to do it myself. Though it helps that I live in area that has zero lines.

In some states, there's a single mark on the ballot that you do once and it votes for all on the same party.

That doesn't sound right. Might be a state ballot thing.

A "straight ticket option" is when you vote for everyone of the same party.

They should not be explaining a thing to you or telling you "not to cross party lines".

They aren't supposed to tell you ANYTHING at all other than answer basic questions.

This. Trust me I've worked as an Officer before. You say anything outside the guided script they give you and you're on grounds for being reported. You're not allowed to influence in any way the vote of another person. This is clearly a violation of that.

Lol dude you were like the most ardent trump supporter here, wtf. Weak and sad!

That's diablos991 really. I mean, Team was out of the closet and all, but diablos was the true Trump cheerleader, wearing his uniform of 'Just asking questions' and waving his pom-poms of 'something is going on here.' If that guy votes all Dem with legit proof, I have no idea what to do after anything. It'll have to be a calling from the heavens for me to pursue my dream of being a political stand up comedian

I'm in Northern Kentucky. I'm 7 miles away from Ohio where my vote would count way more. I'm in Trump land and there is no way around it. I'm in Trump land and yet I'm happy with my life. If I was in Ohio, I would have voted for Hilary, no question. But as I had the ballot in front of me today, I didn't really feel represented by any candidate. I didn't like Clinton when I voted for Obama and I still don't. The fact that Obama and the rest are on her side just showed me how messed up having just 2 represenitives for President really is. If we can pick between 32 flavors at Baskin Robins, we should have more than 2 people to pick from for President. That's why I picked the Libitarian party not in hopes that Gary would be President, but in hopes that it would get funded federally, get more exposure, and have more of a chance to be recognized in the future as a serious candidate. I don't care about the Libitarian party either but it's the next closest one down from the other 2.

The only downside to vote-by-mail is we don't get stickers. I had to make my own from my daughter's collection. In fairness, it doesn't say "I voted"; it's just Olaf from Frozen doing a little happy dance. But the sentiment is the same.

Just voted! Feelsgoodman, +1 for Queen, Strickland, and Young. Fwiw, I saw an older guy's ballot as he was asking a poll worker if he could JUST vote for P and VP, and it was for Trump, so at least some Reps are following through on the"punish the traitors" stuff.

My mail ballot came with a sticker :)

Stopped by with the wife on the way to work. In and out in 10 minutes and no riff-raffs hanging around. +2 for Hillary in Louisiana. My poor, poor state.

Best of luck America. If I'm being honest watching from outside the whole campaign has been a complete shitshow. Its a sad indictment of where American politics is. Just remember pushing a button once every four years isn't how things really change. Its activism by grassroots organizations on the ground. Anyway I seriously hope you don't end up with that cunt Trump.

Good votes! I couldn't believe when I heard that Nebraska was voting to try and bring the death penalty back. Such a step backwards.

We're not. The death penalty was going to be repealed by the Legislature but it was blocked by a petition drive to put it on this ballot. It's never gone away yet.

I did mail-in here in CA, but I waited too long to mail it in. It was still easy though as I just had to bring it in and drop it off. I was in and out in like a minute. lol

Where are you voting? From my experience and what I've been hearing, up here in the NoVa area it's being going pretty fast. Couldn't have waited in line for more than ten minutes.

I'm in Virginia Beach. Get to vote in the Museum of Contemporary Art which is pretty cool.

If you liked Obama and not voting for Clinton, then you are letting emotional cult of personality supersede policy.

Just saw a post on Facebook saying the early tracking will favor Hillary until all the Republicans get off work and vote.

My eyes rolled so hard they popped out of my head.

Blame our shitlord governor who's dad bought him the seat and is literally paying for the pro-death penalty camp on his own. Our legislature voted to get rid of it, he tried to veto that, and the legislature overrode the veto, so he's trying to get it back in via the vote.

Voted in the Upper East Side in Manhattan earlier, line was massive and circled around the block. There was no line in earlier elections but thankfully the line moved briskly.

I think turnout will be massive this election.

edit: Voted for Hillary of course. Today is my birthday and all I want for my Birthday is a Hillary and Dem Senate win

I understand your reasoning and all, but I hope you really researched at least something about the Libertarian party, because if not...

Any of guys lose a friend over this election?
I have but it wasn't my choice.

I've stopped following around 15 of my friends on Facebook until the storm passes. They were just posting incessantly fucking idiotic shit left and right. Lost friends? Nah, but was probably on the threshold.
