Count out a vote in Virginia, the polling station couldn't find me anywhere despite my roommates showing up in their system and my getting mail stating where my precinct was a few weeks ago. They think there was a problem getting my registration moved from Ohio since I had gotten a letter from the Secretary of State which I had to confirm that I was no longer registered to vote in Ohio. I'm guessing something happened to that letter and it never got received properly.

The woman at the polling station spent a solid 15 minutes trying to help me but ultimately there was nothing she could do so I just submitted another voter registration application so that it can be fixed.

How does this work? I'm from the UK so I'm a bit confused.

Rural, sparsely populated counties are heavy Republican-leaning and report early and quickly. The cities are the opposite, so often Dem votes can shift the percentages as the polls close and finish. Also, there are very, very few ballots counted yet.

Only 2% of the state has been counted. Some counties reporting will have more Clinton votes than the earliest ones, closing the gap.
