America can undo this with some effort, the UK won't ever get back into the EU. Or at least not within a potential 4 year turnaround, 8 at worst. So no, UK is still dumber than America.

America won't undo this for at least another 15+ years if not more (and that's assuming Trump is a one term president). The Supreme Court nominees could have an effect for over 30 years. The global warming effect might be permanent.

This is leagues worse than Brexit.

Trump has been a Democrat for most of his life right? and his favorite daughter is liberal so who knows.. might not be a total disaster.

So instead of the first female president, it's the first president who was roasted on comedy central.... :/

More worryingly it's the first president with zero qualifications for the job.

The UK cannot "undo" Brexit and will very likely not be the UK in 5 years if Scotland splits it up.

I had an anxiety attack this morning so I contacted the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

I told the worker there how I felt and how I'm scared shitless about a Trump presidency.

He seemed to basically respond with a canned speech like he was reading off of a letter.

I asked him point blank about it and he said "Yeah, that's what we're telling everyone."

I asked how many calls he's had, and he responded that he's never been busier in his 15 years of volunteering.

going to get worse once Trump does what he promises to do in his document of promises

UK leaving the EU doesn't have the probablity to fuck the rest of the world when it happens. Meanwhile trump doesn't beleive in global warming, So yes, it's just as dumb if not dumber

Please try to be strong. We will get through this together.

Yeah. I hope he actually will put a lot of dem advisors in his staff and hopefully his sup court nominees are at least moderate.

If you're going to come back with a nukes argument I can't accept that hyperbole.

Are you talking trade deals, import/export, country relations and so on? That I can agree on, but look at what has happened with our economy post-Brexit, like Americas (currency devaluing).

I'm just appalled that the GOP got full, free reign here. This is the party that refused to show up to work, and shut down the government. All to keep people from having access to Healthcare.

And people gave them carte blanch.

That was the democratic platform Hillary ran on. And it's easier said than done when Republicans definitely don't want that. Trumps supporters do not want a leftwing economy.
No. It was weakass establishment 'we'll give you some crumbs after we dined with Goldman Sachs, kisses!'. Hilary didn't hate the bankers, didn't hate the elite businessman and it showed. It showed hardcore. No sweettalk helps in that case.

People want someone to fuck them up or want nothing to do with the government at all. So they chose the latter because the former got denied by the DNC.

Could barely get any sleep last night. I really didn't want to come into work today, but I need the money so I came anyways.

This feels like a real bad and long dream, guys. What the fuck...

Yeah. I hope he actually will put a lot of den advisors in his staff and hopefully his sup court nominees are at least moderate.

I hope that he will be at least moderate enough to not revoke all the climate change regulations and gay marriage

if those are okay then i might be okay with a trump presidency, assuming congress doesn't let him build the wall or do a temporary muslim ban

I just overfly some of the poli-threads here and it seems that 90% of the GAFers are Hillary-voters - but nearly 50% of the Americans did vote for Trump. How is that even possible? Did Trump-supporters get banned on GAF?

As a canadian I feel for a lot of people who thought Donald Trump would win. I think a news station out there stated there'a more blue collar Americans than white collar and surprising the Bible Belt states is where most of it is found. You can tell how polarized the US is, with most of the NE states and West coast are Democrat territory with almost the entire south and Midwest red. I wonder if there will truly be a mass exodus as Trump inspired fear for Latino voters and white collar workers. Already have some American friends in WA state thinking of moving up to Canada

Global warming alone is going to have an effect worse than anything that will happen due to Brexit.

We voted in a President who thinks global warming is a hoax created by the Chinese.

If/when further justices retire or die, we don't know what the Senate will look like or if Trump will still be president. But the Scalia replacement is definitely not going to be moderate.

Old white people voted for him

For some reason I'm having the same feelings inside when I heard not guilty for George Zimmerman. Or no charges against officers with Tamir Rice. I wonder if it's just anxiety or anger coming from the same place.

So Trump can activate his Manchurian candidate conditioning and be revealed to be acting and actually a great presidential candidate any time now

Has any celebrity turned politician actually done a good job?

Granted Trump is a business man, at least he should be 'wise' enough to navigate the sleaziness in politics, i guess.

But i predict he will get impeached a year in, thanks to some under the table grants/payback to his business partners..and Putin.

Trade deals, tarriffs, and America possibly facing a recession of its own because of it(most economists say that Trump's economic plan would lead to a recession) would definitely drag the rest of the world down with it.

Trump supporters have a bad habit of either saying something incredibly bigoted or drive-by passive aggressive posting. Both of which get you banned.

Yes, Pence is who we should be afraid of. All scenarios point to Pence taking over and I don't think he's the lesser of two evils.

behind the scenes its possible but heres a prediction.. Trump wins two terms and it follows by Pence running for President shortly after.

GAF is totally an echo-chamber. I can understand why it's that way but it definitely is one.

His announced SCOTUS picks are all Heritage Foundation approved conservatives. There will be no Dem advisers in his cabinet, it'll be the same inner circle of morons from his campaign: Newt, Giuliani, maybe Christie, etc.

Jesus Christ, Breitbart is going to have a direct line to the White House now.

Yes, that I agree with. His stance on global warming if it plays out as he says it is very worrying.

Oh wow I'm quite surprised.

Hopefully he actually works to unite the American people unlike the last president who failed to do so for 8 years.

Man this site is freaking dramatic. General day to day life isn't gonna change that much. He isn't gonna reverse gay marriage, his stance on climate change won't actually impeed progress, electric cars will still be sold, scientists will keep researching ways to combat it.

Obama care shouldn't be outright revoked without some kind of replacement.

Plus he is gonna be a one term president.

Get a grip guys.

Is there a central depot where people get this post or some variant?
You can continue to refuse to accept it, but it's a thing. People have thought it before today as well, you just didn't read about it on GAF because no one was allowed to say it.

There are progressives who want to understand how this mess happened and want to fix it, not repeat it in 4 years. If you continue plugging your ears and screaming how everyone else is wrong you deserve 8 years of Trump as well.

And yet that's precisely what caused her to lose the presidency. He saw exactly what her achilles heel was while so many Democrats chose to ignore it. Trump built a new coalition and destroyed Hillary by pouncing on her being corrupt.
I don't think Hillary is actually "corrupt", but yeah, the perception that she is cost her some of this (I think just not being charismatic cost her more, but I think most of this was lost to FoxNews' last 8 years of fear and hate). Bernie said that, and by saying it fed into it giving it legitimacy. I think he probably would have been better to run a campaign of "I know you love her. I like her too, but this perception will haunt her". I think he tried to do that too a little bit (his supporters less so). He had an uphill battle, since he was saying it to people who knew and loved her. He failed.

This has given me my first ever real panic attack. I don't understand how people deal with this shit regularly. Barely holding it together but keeping a brave face on for everyone in real life.

It's not that. It's that people voted for this piece of shit. The bottom of the barrel ran and won. My illusion is broken. There will be more like him if we don't change.

Yeah you're right, let's just keep making the same fucking mistakes. Great post.

What helped Trump win is people not being forced to face reality and bring given scapegoats while people like the person I quoted chastised minorities for daring to stick up for ourselves.

If you or the person I quoted spent time trying to talk to Trump supporters about why it was a bad choice then cool
