I hope this Resistance coalesces into something bigger and lasting. Maybe a new far-left political party.
I'm with this.
No unity with Trump. Ever. If you thought there would be, jokes on you.

Good for you. We need that kind of mentality now more than ever. Our country has veered onto a very dark path. I am likewise looking for community-based projects to volunteer for that focus on mitigating the damage here in Seattle. Luckily, I live in a city where that's not going to be hard to find.
Agreed.I'm with this.

Imagine if we saw the same energy from democrats yesterday
This election was going to result in the end of the 6th Party System either way.Splintering the party even further would be a good way to ensure even less effectiveness.
Trump is a white male of the .1%. HE IS THE ESTABLISHMENT.
I'm with this.

I live in Pinellas County Florida. My goal for the next 2 years is to get Rick Scott the fuck out of Florida and get a Democrat elected in my home state. My fight starts here.
I'm right there with you, brother.I live in Pinellas County Florida. My goal for the next 2 years is to get Rick Scott the fuck out of Florida and get a Democrat elected in my home state. My fight starts here.
But the original plan did involve making sure the smaller states were represented and had their own say in the governance of the country. Making it completely popular vote would basically make everyone but a few states have no say in national elections.
I'm right there with you, brother.
We need to nab the govenor among other positions in 2018
Yes because a far left party will really bring in the states that voted against you to start with. Maybe work to making the Democrat party more inclusive to rural Americans. Trying to win elections though controlling cities isn't going to work out well anymore.
I guess you people aren't used to protests? Some here are acting like this is the end of american civilization.

so many democrats did not come out last night to vote, what is a protest going to do now? go home you fucked it up.
The protesters should all be arrested if they are blocking ambulance and fire trucks.
I'm all for peoples freedom of speech, and rough to protest. But if your protesting affects the loves of others, that is something entirely different.
As someone who lived this nightmare personally, with the death of my son. I outraged at the moment.
OT but related to the electoral college
I wonder what the liberal in Montana feels?

There should definitely be protests like these every time Trump does something that is clearly bad for the country (like 99% of the things he did, said, and promised during the election), but in this particular instance, Trump won fair and square. If they really didn't want him there, more should have voted.
As a liberal in Kansas I agree. It's just more that even if Montana was blue your vote means little.Probably a lot like this liberal in Kentucky. Like my voice has politically never mattered. In that graph getting shared around where only millenials vote, Kentucky STILL went Trump.
As long as the Electoral College exists, my vote does not matter for presidency any more than a conservative in upstate New York.

Jesus tap dancing christ you are all coming out of the woodwork today.

GAF doesn't tolerate hate speech and this election won't change that. Good luck to any fools who think they have free reign to shitpost.Yeah the mods are gonna have an interesting time sorting out the new ban rules. Right now its political talk and emotions are high, but hate speech will soon be more accepted. Recruitment going into overdrive at the KKK im sure.
More people did vote... for Hillary than Trump.
I thought that turnout was higher in Philly -- plenty of enthusism in the cities.
people dont want to come together. They want to fight....
Not where it mattered.
The anger should be directly squarely at the campaign that someone managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of fucking Donald trump.
Ding ding https://twitter.com/nydailynews/status/796478231398465536Sure but there should be equal anger at the laws that made it harder to vote and target to remove people from voting rolls. Enthusiasm was a problem definitely but voter suppression is just as big.
48% will vote in 2018
48% will vote in 2018
I await with morbid curiosity to see Trump's attempt at reaching out to the citizens he has rallied his base against.
I expect nothing.
