after you redeem a JFY offer, how long do you have to buy the game before the discount expires?
Approx 4 weeks.
Weird, it says it expired today. Maybe because I have a European account?
Oh, so it's been relisted.
I hate Sonic.

I download free Sonic themes.

Because they're free.

I have no shame.
Downloaded them and deleted, if I ever change my mind.

Pretty mediocre Metroid theme IMO.
I've had my eye on the retro one for a long time and was kinda hoping it was that one. :(

Kinda wish they'd make ALL themes available for purchase with Platinum coins. That would give me a reason to do more to collect them again. All I do these days is sign into My Nintendo and get that free coin if I remember.

Redeemed Samus theme, but on download screen it said 0/16 blocks for about 10 minutes.

Switched off wireless and tried to download it off the Theme Collection section, but every time I tap it, it says "Unable to obtain data." and kicks me off the Theme Shop.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

Redeemed the discount for Super Metroid 3DS... thing is, i think My Nintendo sent me the discount for the WiiU version. When i try to claim it on the 3DS eShop, i get a "no compatible software available" or something like that msg.

Contacted Nintendo customer support... still waiting for an answer. Anyone claimed that discount?

You have a new 3DS right?

Although the discounts are applied automatically to your account I thought.

Oh yes i do. Claimed it on my pc and it showed up on the eShop... but it wont work on the 3ds... it seems to be working on my WiiU eShop, but i already have the game there...

Just checked my purchased themes and was able to download it this time. Guess it was a problem on their end.

Hrm... I'm not getting the "unable to obtain data" message anymore, but the download keeps getting interrupted with an error message. I dunno...

Great, now I've got 300 additional worthless premium points. Why are you doing this to me, Nintendo! *shakes fist*

Still, it was cool to see that the NES Mini included a points card. Is this the first time My Nintendo points are included in a non-digital product?

He means, do you have a New 3DS?

Platinum points with hardware (or anything bought, really) is really low. Should've been gold as with digital.

Yes.

Man, this service. SMH

If I spend my gold coins on discounts - looking at Fire Emblem and Metroid Zero Mission for GBA VC - I can buy the games whenever, right? There's no specific timeframe in which I need to purchase the game to use the discount?

The discounts do expire. Most of them expire in February.

You can answer this question yourself by reading the description of whatever reward you're interested in.

This one is a bit confusing, though. On the rewards page, it says:

Reward available until: 2/11/2017 at 2 AM [America/New York]

My question was, is the discount itself only going to last that long, or will it last forever, as long as I've "bought" the discount with my gold coins? In other words, if I spend my gold coins now and get the discount, do I have to actually buy the game by February, or can I buy it in a year? It's not clear from the site, imo.

This reward is available until that date. After that date you can no longer claim the reward. You can claim the reward at any point in time between now and that date. If your reward is a discount, you have four weeks to use the discount from the time you claim it. Which it says right there.

Hmm, interesting. Here's what mine looks like:

This reward is a discount that will be automatically applied to the price of the game in Nintendo eShop or on the official Nintendo website when purchasing the game. To redeem points for this reward, you must have a Nintendo Network ID linked with your Nintendo Account.

This reward is a discount in the form of a Just for You offer.

For more information about the Metroid™: Zero Mission game, visit the Game Store . You can purchase on your Nintendo system, or buy the game through the Game Store and download it directly to your system from the site.

And that's it, none of the other info that you have on yours. Maybe the Europe site is more specific? Or maybe NoE even has a different policy? That added line isn't on any of my other discount pages either. Weird! Anyway, thanks for that clarification, because that info isn't anywhere on my version of the site.

God damnit ...those stupid regional differences. I bet you the policy is the exact same but you'll only see the limit after claiming the reward.

So, the "Answer 1 question in Answer Central (daily)" mission is supposed to be daily, but it looks like there aren't new questions in Answer Central each day? Am I missing a way to answer new questions?

Uuuuuh, are you sure?

From what I'm gathering, a reward generally expires at the start of the month and the discount expires at the end of it. That's what it basically says in the greyed out texts below the descriptions.

The expiration date is definitely variable, seeing as the Chase discount expired after down to four days.

Sorry about the confusion.

You have to change your answer on a question.

It's dumb.
You can also delete the answer and give it again.

So something I observed yesterday. The Mii on the Miitomo app icon is the girl from the Switch trailer who plays Mario Switch. Who else thinks so?

Guess you have no choice in which prize package you want to win? I tried showing I wanted the Zelda one by saying I wanted all the Zelda amiibo (then the NES Classic Mini because I do want one & Super Mario Maker 3DS because I already had or didn't care about the rest). It'd be a bummer to win only to find out I got the Pokemon one, which I don't want.

I mean, even if it's not what you want you can sell it for cash. :P

I think Nintendo fans can probably find something to appreciate in each prize pack, but, yeah, some can provide more appreciation than others.

From the Super Mario Runs website:

In order to play Toad Rally, you will need Rally Tickets that you can acquire a variety of ways, such as clearing worlds or through bonus games in your kingdom.

Here's betting you'll be able to buy tickets using Platinum Coins.
It's a missed opportunity in not making Rally Tickets the Miitomo Game Tickets and having them be a universal currency through all mobile apps.

What if the rally tickets are a fixed commodity, and specific tickets apply to specific things?

Jumping in to say the sweepstakes think is pretty cool! I entered for a chance at all the Amiibo and an NES Classic. Here's hoping that they continue to offer things like that. My Nintendo hasn't been great so far, but they're slowly adding value to it.

The only other "reward" service like this is the Xbox rewards program. It's a mixed bag there because they give you points that get converted into cash for your Microsoft account. However, the biggest point rewards are always tied to buying X amount of X value game during a period of time when they aren't on sale. I honestly prefer My Nintendo even if it needs some work.
