Mario Kart Switch: all Wii U + new tracks, characters, battle mode, < 3 mos fr launch

You know what I'd really like, besides a real Battle Mode with Block Fort?

Missions from MK DS. Those were a good idea.

I agree that variety is always better, but lol at Bayonetta 3 being a system seller.

GAF looking itself in the mirror.

Bayo3 (one of the only 3rd party game on the system) at launch would be "hé, WiiU, all over again".

I'm sold if it has King Boo.

You don't have to worry.

That'd be great. I rather enjoyed Mario Kart 8's single player because the AI was substantially better than previous games in ways that felt natural, but also because of how much of a change the driving model was. It wasn't a game I felt entirely familiar with and in control with like Mario Kart 7, I had to remaster the mechanics.

Since this seems to share a lot in common with MK8, Grand Prix mode may well be more boring and less compelling. A set of fun missions in new, existing and specially made environments would be cool.

I really hope this makes launch along with Splatoon. I know so many people who have played Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 on my Wii U who would see Switch and say "wait, it plays those games?! I want!"

KartGAF Battle Mode Nights gon b lit. :fire_emoji:

Between this and Splatoon 2/Switch, I think I need to really consider Day 1-ing the purchase of a Switch.

I hope this happens. Mario Kart 8 is my most played game on the Wii U, and I'm ready to put even more time in if there are additional tracks and a real battle mode. Jan 12 is looking more and more exciting!

I hope the battle mode has a ton of options. I want to see the bob-bomb mode from Double Dash return, as well as some of that game's battle stages. Battling on a giant Gamecube was boss.

As long as we are feature begging why not have an Adventure mode.

Diddy Kong Racing still has the best single player karting some 20 years later.

I kinda wish Nintendo wouldn't expand the Mario Kart roster beyond the Mario characters (limited Donkey Kong selections would be okay at this point, as that precedent was set originally).

There are plenty of mario characters still to choose from (even more if they wanted to expand into Mario 2 beyond Shy Guy) without resorting to "villager" or "link".

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think that concept should be left to Smash.

Speaking of, any Nintendo fan sites/youtube channels to follow? I have gamexplain right now and that's it. I used to be a big visitor to GoNintendo.

I did have Josh's channel (TheBitBlock) subscribed to as well and would watch a lot of his videos, but he recently came out as a Trump supporter (and not just someone who voted for Trump, but cool with garbage conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones), so I had to unsubscribe.

Hopefully they are also fixing Team Races by removing friendly fire or adding a toggle.

Yeah, would be awesome if they could come up with new things to make the game even more interesting.

Cutting him from the series was a huge mistake

Also the OG guest character before your fancy Links and Villagers

Dry Bones driving the Tank in MK DS was what I went with. So good.

Yeah Gamexplain is probably my favorite. Also no one should support TheBitBlock. After he attacked that other youtuber(Lamar Wilson i think) completely out of left field and he has proven himself to be a complete dumpster fire of a person.

Oh god he supports Trump...that explains somethings now.

Anyways Nintendo Life is a good channel to subscribe too.

The only times that I watch is videos are when he does discussions with RogersBase.

That guy is a disease, lol. I remember his bitching about the November 2015 Direct on Twitter and Cloud being in Smash.

Here is what they should do

Call it Mario Kart Switch
Switch name comes from the Gameplay mechanic of Switching items. It also allows Nintendo to market this as a new Mario Kart and not a port.

As for content
To ensure that this game feels fresh they should have 4 New cups. And of course a proper Battle Mode. It would also be a bonus to have a mission mode similar to DS. The 4 New cups would mean we would get 16 new tracks.

As for old content from Mario Kart 8. They should only have the DLC as the only old content at launch so the game feels new from the get go. Basically 4 cups (16 tracks) worth of old content. 4 New cups and 4 old cups is the perfect balance. Nintendo should then announce all the remaining content from Mario Kart 8 will come as free DLC down the line.

Put Diddy Kong in you fuckers.

and Sonic

You just made my mind take a trip! How rad would it be if we could get a reworked Diddy Kong Racing track complete with DKR orquestrated music for MK8 on Switch?

With Rare being owned by Microsoft is this something Nintendo could realistically pull off or would their hands be tied by red tape? Its not clear to me who owns the rights to this game (or what parts of the game).

Since it already finished developing and it will not be day 1 .... this means that they are developing the Mario Kart 8 DLC for wiiu with all that stuff ? =D

There have been rumors about a new DKR floating around.

If they wanted to, I could see Nintendo making it and filling the cast with pre-existing Kong family members and/or new characters altogether to replace all the Rare characters.

If battle mode is actually good again I might double dip. By good I mean like classic battle mode. No time limit, no respawing, have actual areas designed for battle, hit three times you're out.
