Been trying to find a answer, but Google comes up with nothing.

Anyone know the map size of this game?

Or even better yet a comparison of map size to gta 5?

Just trying to get this as a gift for someone who enjoys simple open sandbox games, and gta 5 size is perfect for them. I know it's a bit smaller however.

Great game imo

There's only one thing lacking actually. You can't adjust audio levels separately and that's too bad because the radio volume is so low when you drive. Hope it will come in a next update though.

Not true. There were tricks in the first to tell that you were being hacked.

For example in the first game you couldn't pause when someone else was in your game because it became a "live session".

Example from WD1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Qd-g6Q3zU

WD2 clearly has some exploits where people are getting an advanced warning. Been profiled extremely quick multiple times.

If you've got the media player playing music, if you hit the map button or go into the game options it'll continue playing so you know your game is a live session.

I preferred tailing to invasions personally.

Yep. Can't recall what mission it was where I first died but I had to start from the very start even though it was a multi objective mission and there were no checkpoints at any of the points. Not sure what happened with the checkpoints here. Games haven't been this bad with checkpoints for a while

I want to play this game as it seems there's a lot to like about it, but bad mid-mission checkpointing is just not something I have a whole lot of patience for, especially in 2016. It made me enjoy GTA IV a lot less than I otherwise would have, and I appreciated it when Rockstar made mid-mission checkpointing standard for all their open world games after that.
I realize this game lets you dial down the difficulty, but I also don't want a complete cake walk through the missions either. I will still play it at some point since there were a lot of reviews annoyed by the checkpointing but still recommended the game overall, but it's moved to a 'wait for a good sale' for me.

Any other time I'd be ecstatic to listen to CCR, but after Mafia 3..., I'm tired of Fortunate Son. I also think the rock song selsction at the start is funny. Megadeath and CCR, such a divide.

Dumb question, but when I went to start the final mission there is a big popup saying it's THE FINAL MISSION, so I wanted to be sure. There is still free roam and everything afterwards right? I assume so, but I'm not sure why it would show that unless something changes gameplay wise (feel free to spoil it).

This aint the first game Bruh. Have u tried that trick in this game?

The point of the link is that there has to be some exploits out there in WD2 that are similar to WD1. People are clearly able to get the jump on Hacking Invasions before you can even initiate hacking a target.

Edit: Also, I started paying attention to my framerate on PS4 today. I notice it drops a little bit lower when someone else is in my game and I see more screen tearing.. A possible sign that could be happening when I invade someone.

When you finish that mission it will put you back at the moment just before you accepted the mission.

Tried the seamless MP tonight ..very surprising and quite fun

I wasted 40 minutes of my life trying to open the new dawn center garage door but i wasn't able to find an entry point for my drone ..

The multiplayer is fantastic fun. Also really enjoy the races in this like I do in GTA. Especially the motorcycle ones.

Now can we talk about the bullshit 200 photo limit for the camera and wtf is up with that? I've been taking lots of pictures for fun and for scoutx and just had to go through and slowly delete 30 of them to make a little bit of room because I hit the 200 picture max. It's 2016, we are on 1 TB consoles, do not limit my screenshots wtfff!!! Also please make deleting screenshots easier, takes forever to delete a bunch.

So regardless of how good or even long the game is, the map size is the deal breaker for them?

GTA 5 is pretty much the biggest for any of this type of game... WD2 is smaller by quite a bit. That said the missions are as fun if not better than GTA5..

Size doesn't matter...

THE
ROBOT WARS
MISSION

HOLY SHIT

HOLY SHITTTTT WAS THAT EVER GOOD

Can someone please tell me the name of the song playing at the start of the mission when you're are collecting
EMP parts
?

Edit: nvm, it's called Robot (Finale) on the OST

Oh man and when The Prodigy kicks in. What a great soundtrack

The NPC's on the far left and middle of that circle are hilarious!

The Pro version is great if you have a 4K display, I imagine on a 1080p it is much cleaner. I would wait unless you are really itching to get in.

Thanks for the reply.
Don't have a 4K TV but I'll still wait for the Pro before getting stuck in.

My backlog will keep me occupied the next few weeks, hopefully the WD2 itch isn't too real.

With the exception of one particular trick from wd1, every trick from the first game works in this one lol. If someone is in your game you can easily see that they are if you are constantly applying one of the check tricks xD Ive tested it in the few times I have been invaded and I knew people were in all 3 times before they even got near me / initiated the hack =P

Thats why people will just suddenly bee line to the middle of no where or a bridge and camp with a sniper trained on you. because they are using the trick to see that someone is in their game >.>

There is honestly no way to avoid this. Because it is online based when someone joins you there is no way to make menu vs background UI perfectly static the way it is offline sadly. Things like bringing up the map or unplugging your controller would have to be coded to always freeze all screen activity regardless of invasion or single play. Idk how easy or hard this fix would be

Invading friends doesn't work?

Servers are messed up again pretty much. If you get any of the online stuff to work you are lucky =/

Just beat the game this morning. My hopes of this being the Assassins Creed 2 of Watch_Dogs were not dashed. God damn is this game good.

I love that the end of that mission is basically a love letter to everyone who played the first game.

Also, this game really needs to an ability to let you spawn elevator cars. I keep running into collectibles where the big puzzle is how far do I have to run to find an elevator car to get up high enough where I need to be.

It's my experience that if one is required it's never more than a block away. If you have to run three blocks to find one, you're probably missing the "normal" way of getting somewhere.

Dammit they might as well left focus mode in then.

They are not typical gamers, they only play gta 5 to go around shooting, driving around the world doing random things, they don't even touch the missions. Just trying to get a fresh open world for them. That's why I'm asking about size.

Platinum'd! Retiring this game for now. I really enjoyed the game. Maybe I'm just in the mood for some goofy open-world not too serious goodness right now, but this game really hit the spot.

First open world game I bothered to get all the trophies.

The map is about 2/3 the size of GTAs but so far I'd say it's way more fun and engaging. It feels more than large enough because of that. I actually prefer it to GTA V's and i think GTA V's is a masterwork in many ways. This one just feels more real and alive to me - and there's so much more to do it's not even funny. The game is actively like "there's stuff here! And more here! And more here!" And it's all engaging/fun. The graphics/style and responsiveness help with that.

Edit: i also greatly prefer how it's laid out. The city and rural and ocean parts are blended together in a much more fun and interesting way.

GTA V has beautiful environments but to me it feels pretty empty and unfortunately boring. When I bought it I hoped to have as much fun as it was with San Andreas but after months I still did not finish the main campaign. Such a shame.

Watch Dogs 2 feels crowded with content and activity in comparison. It's delightful.

Cool, thanks. Not meaning to make this thread about gta 5 haha, just wanted a quick comparison. Thought it was a tad smaller, but there is a lot of bare land in gta 5.

God I love this game, totally surprised after the original was garbage tier. Waypoint Radio talked me into getting it and I'm so glad they did as after coming off the worst human beings ever in a video game like the original, I love almost all the cast in this one.

Weird hearing Hardcore Holly and the Hardy Boys theme tune coming out of a metal bar, though.

The animation work is great across the board. Only big seams are in collisions when the body doesn't ragdoll. Quite a lot of smash-cut transitions.

Moving Marcus around is brilliant.

I'm really starting to sour on the stealth elements in this game. The AI is super unforgiving. The whole building gets notified of your presence just because the guy you're about to choke out with your billard ball sees you just as you're about to end his life. He didn't get a chance to use his radio. He didn't even scream or make a loud noise but because the sight indicator fills up some how it means everyone knows you're there.

The melee animations take way too long. I just recently got the mass disrupter or whatever it is that causes everyones comms to spaz out. You'd think that while these guys have their ears bleeding you'd be able to go in there and stealth ninja like 3 or 4 dudes before they recover. Nope. Because the melee animations are so long you're lucky if you can even get one melee off before you get seen by someone else as they recover. I've had to resort to using the mass disrupter and then trying to take out as many people as i can with my silenced rifle and as many people can attest to, the gunplay in this game is extremely subpar.

I'd be willing to potentially overlooking this if going in guns blazing felt like a viable option but it doesn't because marcus is quite fragile and that's before considering there are tons of enemies that have various forms of body armor.

Oh, and the dogs are the worst. Since there's no way to hack them it seems like the only safe way to deal with them is to stun gun them but god forbid you miss.

No idea how to get that one research point easily, but I jumped along balconies with the Jumper in order to get there, lol.
