How do you build?
As a Sony published game, it isn't. There has been a few Sony published games with packaging errors, so is nothing out of extraordinary.Kind of a big coincidence all things considered don't you think?
Holy shit! Warped to a new system and a fucking massive massive freighter is here and I get a notification a battle is starting. Shops go and fight Pirates and I help out just like the e3 footage and after clearing the Pirates I got a new element called tropheum with a mission to land on freighter to speak to the Commander. Get a dialogue of accepting gift or not. Got 1 antimatter.
Screens below I took frantically. Wow!
Also, migrated my base to a legit tropical ocean planet. Here's shortly after landing. After I get glass tech I'll take pics of my beachfront property. It's literally 90%+ Ocean. Never saw so much consistent water without land in the 50 hours previous of playing pre-1.1

OH FUCK BOUGHT THE FREIGHTER! LEGIT STAR WARS MASSIVE:
That's still the same.Did they fix the flight floor? Flying around alien planets was what I bought the game for and that was no fun. I know there was a mod to fix this but I'm on the ps4.

Persecution complex? He received death threats.
Anyway his comment about what they've been through is almost certainly referring to the fact they've been crunching for months on end rather than any internet drama.
Survival mode feels like it needs a little padding to start out. It feels like it ramps everything up to 11 right at the start. I've had to restart twice now because I've started on planets with no way to get any health and I can't even reach my ship before running out. I like the idea but it needs tweaking to be fun right now imo
Any form of acknowledgement that they shipped the game missing tons of stuff would be nice. It's weird that they simply refuse to even acknowledge a single thing went wrong and makes it come off kind of oddly combative when they only make tweets talking about themselves and what they've gone through. What about your customers who (like I did) bought the game for sixty bucks on day one based on a lot of hype and promises that simply weren't in the package?
Does he have to beg for forgiveness on twitter? No. But some basic communication and engaging of their audience would be nice and I don't think any healing is going to happen until they do.
Ah, PCgamer had this image in their article...You can have only one of those at any time ( only one )
-Freighter
-Ship
-Base
No multiples , no duplicates.
COnsidering that freighters have multiples entry points sometimes , it might change in another update
Curious to see how hard it actually is.
My starting planet was inhospitable so getting my ship going was quite an ordeal, carefully/quickly gathering resources little bit by little bit, trying not to freeze/suffocate.
Canyon before Foundation:I never saw anything that looked like a river before, although I didn't put that much time into the game.
The game was already getting flack for mechanical obtuseness, I think they wanted to maintain clarity for play reasons. I do agree that increased variety is essential to improving/extending the game. And they could still have the plants keep the color scheme, just have different models at least. Same with plutonium deposits and such, they used to use cylindrical shaped models before, they could just add those and some new ones back in, just for more variety.
Again, you're completely wrong. They have done more than make this tweet, and they have acknowledged stuff went wrong. Here's excerpts from their communication on the 25th (emphasis mine):It's weird that they simply refuse to even acknowledge a single thing went wrong and makes it come off kind of oddly combative when they only make tweets talking about themselves and what they've gone through.
Hello Games said:These fixed many of the most common or critical bugs and issues post-release.
...The discussion around No Mans Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about. Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.
There's nothing in the patch notes. Given that they seem to have had this in and removed it after playtesting, I don't know if it'll appear again.Do the planets now rotate and orbit the sun or not? I was displeased that this was not a thing at launch.

Ocean was deep as usual, took about 30-45 seconds to reach the surface from the bottom. Planet was full of fauna. More and more animals spawn now than before too.Awesome. How deep is the ocean? Is the fauna there sparse?
You teleport from any space station to your base. You can then teleport back to that space station from your base, or fly up to stay in the system of your base. When you move bases lost of your materials end up in a chest at your new base and when you build facilities your hired members will return. So how is the travel with regards to getting back to your 'base' planet - is it just a teleporting kind of deal or do you just relocate your gear to a new planet when you move?
Kudos to them on this update, it's the best first step to repairing the reputation of this whole thing.

My first attempt at survival mode.

Is survival mode just hard mode? Spent about 30 minutes being confined to a single building because of the radiation but having no resources to keep life support online (literally could not find Th or Plutonium (to build power cells), but that's what it felt like. Resources were stricter, less available, and everything like jetpack etc was just less effective.
I'd say it's more than just ramped up difficulty, as you also lose all your items if you die.
From what people are saying it sounds more like a roguelike mode, which I think is really cool. But obviously not everyone's cup of tea.
Good Job Hello Games, you remind me of the an 80's Hulk Hogan, when he was faux knocked out and the ref would grab his hand and it would fall flat and be flacid on the 1st and 2nd count and suddenly on the 3rd count he would shake and come alive.
Oh, gotcha. That's because other trade ship do visit your freighter, they will land just like space stations.
My first attempt at survival mode.

I'll wait for the "more shit to actually do on planets" update.
Wait normal mode you dont lose items when you die? Shit thats been a pain in my ass on this mode.
