I just want some Sengoku Basara representation dammit.

If I could get Azai, if I could get this motherfucker right here

It won't happen but if I could,
I would never complain about anything ever

I didn't feel they brought much to Marvel 3. Not too many hype moments outside of Combo's She hulk in vanilla and Fchamp losing to Arthur level 3 once. I'd cut Firebrand too.

Those aren't good reasons to keep them or anyone out of a new game. It's possible to have had a good pick, but poor execution of the design originally. They don't have to stick to the exact same design.

Are we really considering Spencer an "obscure" pick? I mean, maybe he's not as relevant now, but when MvC3 was coming out he still had an entire game on the way. His franchise is about as obscure as every other recently dormant Capcom franchise, which is like most of them besides Street Fighter, RE, DR, and Monster Hunter, and Spencer as a character is still pretty popular and wouldn't really be much of a stretch even in a limited roster. I'm not buying that at all.

Rearmed 2 was the only game that was made during MvC3's buildup and most people probably didn't realize that game even existed. It sold atrociously.

Was the swinging in Bionic Commando 2009 good? That's literally all that matters to me.

It's not Spider-Man 2 in terms of how physics accurate it is but it definitely builds the entire game and it's level design around it and how it ties into combat so hell yes.

It's the most fun game I played that year. An overlooked gem.

Rearmed 2 was such an oddity. Think it was a few cases for why that failed.

BCR did really well because it was one of the first big digital titles on PSN/XBL with a lot of marketing and came out during a dry period if I recall. Then that got the 2009 game made.

By the time BCR2 rolled around no one gave a fuck about BC at all. Guessing do to the reception of BC2009 and a poor release window.

But yeah in general it's always so odd to see such turnarounds like that.

I remember playing the demo thinking the swinging was up there.

How was the multiplayer at its prime?

It was a fun distraction and not much else.
Like it was cool to play a match swing around get some kills.
But it wasn't something you and the buds would all hop on and play all night.

Rearmed 2 also had the problem of sucking

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of it. Fat Shark tried but it just wasn't there.

I'd love it if they kept to one character per series, so maybe we can get some love for Dino Crisis, PN03, Rival Schools, Power Stone, and every other series that isn't RE or DMC.

Also, where are the rumors about Combofiend doing the battle mechanics? That is a seriously solid pick.

I enjoy the presentation of the game a lot - the story is actually surprisingly good, the characters are great and the music is really fucking incredible. The game play feels very spread thin and half baked admittedly. You can tell the game started life at Grin but that they had to give it to another developer after they went down, it lacks a lot of polish.

Ace Attorney too!

I think Spencer is both pretty obscure and a bad character.

Here's the REAL Marvel vs. Capcom 4 roster
Worth it for Missile.

Honestly, I'd be pretty down for Slapstick in MVC. A wacky cartoon moveset would write itself and fit right in the Versus series.

....too bad he doesn't have a MCU movie under his belt, lol.

He was in Deadpool's ending in UMVC3, so at the very least he isn't totally off of Capcom's/Marvel's radar.

I'm not even kidding when I say I want the Merchant in this.

Holy shit, that would be beyond incredible. Can you even imagine? Automatic GOTY. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

One day it'll happen.

I'd feel better if Capcom didn't screw SB's chances in the West twice over.

But hey, if worse comes to worse, again, just take the idea Tizoc and I agreed on: take Masamune, rename him to his Devil Kings moniker "Azure Dragoon", and keep it moving. It'd be the same way Soki was able to get into TvC in spite of the whole "no historical personality rule" that was rumored.

Where did that come from? I've seen a few people mention it over the past week. Masamune Date was on the list of considered TvC characters, so I don't think Capcom has any issues with him.

Swinging was glorious. The game itself was just a hair's breath from being one of the greats, but it had a death by papercuts factor. Once you get past the early stage stuff though it is fucking phenomenal from the middle on out to the end to play.

Here is a breakdown I did of it

You'll hear the good and the bad. The good outweighs the bad and then some in my eyes, but its still enough not to allow it to become a major AAA success like it could've actually been. Best timeline would be if they had gotten time and budget to address the issues brought up because I have no doubt it would've been a hit worthy of sequel otherwise.

I think he means the REAL actor who the other Onimusha characters' likenesses are based off of. Soki was a completely original character NOT based off a real actor.

So a lot of talk about who will and won't be making it from the marvel pool but uh...

Who exactly has Capcom got to add new to the roster? Outside of a few SFV characters (necalli, rashid, laura), they don't have a lot of characters to pull from either new series or from ones we haven't already seen.

I guess they could add the Monster Hunter cat

or the "welcome to the family son" dad from RE7

Have we talked about stages yet? I don't think so.

Any locales from the MCU that you guys would like to see in the game? Or locales in general? Honestly, I'd take a port of stuff like Asgard and SHIELD Helicarrier since they were relevant and kind of MCU related then.

A few of mine:

Ruins of Maveth - Preferably with sand storms and shadows/silhouettes of figures haunting it

Sanctum Santorum - Or perhaps the London Sanctum specifically? Anyways, not only is it good to have some indoor stages, but (movie spoilers)
it could warp and twist over the course of the match as if someone is using magic there like in the movie

Harlem's Paradise - Dunno if I'd rather the overlooking room or the stage, but I love the area and they should play the MvC2 soundtrack all the time on this stage.

Stark Expo - Either the dome or such that you can see the pools and the globe behind it.

South Africa - Or wherever this shot is from. Would be cool to see Ultrons roaming in the background and evolving as the match goes on.

Church in Novi Grad - With an ominous figure on the throne, of course

There's also Asura.

Enzo reminds me, the "new stages" in UMVC3 were really disappointing.

I thought we'd see new locations like the courtroom from Ace Attourney or the Willamette Parkview Mall from Dead Rising (already in TvC) but instead, all we got were re-edits of pre-existing stages already in the game. Even the promised Days of Future Past stage just turned out to be Metro City with some Sentinels shoved into the background.

all the new nighttime versions of stages are the superior versions though

yes that includes shadowlands vs. hand hideout, too

really basically every single new stage is better than the original besides demon village redux which is the worst stage in the game

city that never sleeps is a top tier as fuck stage
