Are we sure Gouken is still dead? It really seems like he either wasn't really dead, came back to life, or is some sort of spirit that has physical presence. Either way, he still seems to exist.

Umm Gouken is alive. Dude appears in SFV Ryu story which takes place after SFIV. Gouken was retconned to be alive in SFIV and Akuma only 'nearly' killed him.

Considering Gouken shows up in the Street Fighter V Character Story and meets Rashid, him coming back was definitely not a "What-if" scenario. I think the only real question is the manner of his return. Street Fighter 4 seems to imply that he used the Mu no Ken to somehow protect himself from the Shun Goku Satsu, but it's never super clear on whether his body died and his spirit was able to return to it or if he was just in a coma for years and his boys buried him because they somehow couldn't tell he was dead.

Probably not in the "Will people buy it?" perspective. But I think it's a good idea, considering the season before it (and likely the one after it) will all be just vets.

And also considering the current newcomer lineup for SFV (really good imo), I have faith they'll be good too.

At this point, SFIV is just SF2/3 all stars, but with the gameplay being less as good as those games (at least SF3). I don't want that to be this game as well, so giving us a bunch more newcomers will really help give this game it's own identity.

I really hope one of the chars revealed is Maki, but none of the silhouettes look like her. Maybe a redesign?

The season character pass is labeled "2017", so my guess is yes, it is for all of 2017.

In Playstation Store the DLC is named Character Pass 2017 so it is most likely for full year. I doubt we will get more next year but who knows. We could get first Season 3 character in December again though.

Shadow 5 is almost certainly Garuda from Street Fighter EX (RIP Sodom) - it's the most blatant of the 5 by a mile.

4 could definitely be Hinata- the top matches. (Just like #1 seems like it's Kolin's jacket in the lower left)

Kolin, Haggar, Kuma, Hinata, Garuda would be my guess as of right now.

How does that even make sense. Sfv is new, these are characters new too sfv and they sf universe. Azam and Ed are 100 percent coming, you think they're not coming in a season that capcom is promoting as having all new fighters?
