Haven't played Monster Hunter, but from what i've read, God Eater is definitely easier, the first part of the game at least (there is some post-game content which is harder than the first part, not really sure how it compares to MH though). It's also not really considered a "hunting" game by a lot of people, as well as some people think that these games aren't really compareable, since God Eater focuses strongly on story and characters.
God Eater is a fast-paced action game with mission-based gameplay, with story bits and character interaction between missions. There is a crafting and loot component, so it is possible to "grind" in this game to upgrade\craft new gear - although it's not really necessary, at least until post-game.

Thanks, turned off by everything in your post so I'll pass and keep waiting for MH on Steam.

Also Arkham Knight + DLC = $10, Arkham Oranges + DLC = $15. Why WB? I'm gonna just pass on the entire thing since I can't get the DLC for a reasonable price :|
EDIT: G2A has Origins for $3 and SP for $4.50 so I guess that's that. Ya snooze ya lose Warner.

Dissapointing lack of effort in the sale. The awards angle is fun enough, celebrating the great games of Steam though the categories are lackluster. Do miss the sale metas though, and now the theme and artworks that go with it.

Gaben please bring back the achievements based sales and grant trading cards on unlocking achievements; at least that would feel more engaging and interactive than clicking to vote for a game or doing my discovery queue per day :S

Yes, game is EXTREMELY unforgiving though. It'll take a couple playthroughs to fully understand the mechanics.

Story is pretty meh. You're mostly just resqueing people while expanding base camp.

Endgame activities are the main attraction of the game.

110% yes, I love this game. It does take a while to get into though, and to figure out mechanics like stress, and how important certain enemy types and debuffs are to counter.

TBH I was not crazy about it at first, but a youtube streamer BaerTaffy does (I find) really enjoyable let's plays of the game (and hes pretty good at it). It taught me a number of things about the game and inspired me to give it another go, and I loved it. It's worth it if you like games that are just plain unfair.

Sometimes it can feel this way until you get a real hand on the mechanics. And even then sometimes RNG combat just bones you with a string of dodges/crits on your guys/etc. But they do tell you in the tips that the game is about making the best of a bad situation... sometimes your hero does get that disease, you do have to retreat from the dungeon, you do have a valued hero die. I can see where it can get frustrating for some players. I would say that if you like a challenge, and you like ironman style mechanics, this would be an enjoyable game for you. If you do not like those kind of things, I can imagine it would not be a fun time

No. TOB does take place before TNO chronologically, yes, but it's written as a prequel and you're not meant to play it first. It's also the worse game so you might be left with less of a desire to play the far superior one after you're done.

The story in Dragon's Dogma really doesn't kick in until the endgame imo

There is dialogue with the NPCs and Pawns but it's all pretty generic stuff for the most part. That game is about the combat and Pawn system, story is a very distant second to those (which is a shame, because the endgame story stuff is actually really interesting)

Rather different games and genres. There isn't really anything quite like Dark Messiah (1st person action RPG with special attention to wacky physics), so I would pick it.

There is a demo, so I would try it first, though. The story is almost non existent, the beginning is sort of bland and it might take a bit to get used to the controls. But it then clicks and it's pretty entertaining.

That's good to hear when I was expecting like 3 or 4. And no worries, 1984 is one of my favorite novels, which is partially what got me interested.
