COMICS!!! |OT| December 2016. Motor Girl is my new Motor Crush

I liked Hulk, loved the little nods that Jen is not She Hulk, she's just Jen, seeing her apartment bulit for for a 7 foot woman, not a 5'ish woman, she has a ticking time bomb inside her

Also dug Rocket Raccoon, this is gonna be a interesting one since the Young run was a wacky space adventure.

My run was light AF aside from Uncanny Avengers and Spider Woman.

Were there any good Doom Patrol runs between Morrison and the new Way one?

honestly the run right after isnt even bad, Rachel Pollack's. She's transexual woman, so its actually pretty fascinating when she tackles topics about sexual identity in the book.

But the last issue of Morrison/Case's Doom Patrol is like the best ending. Like the best fuckin ending in comics. Like that should have just cancelled all future Doom Patrol comics because that was it, baby. So I dont get around to recommending them.

Looks decent but if I were in the market for an expensive Deadpool figure I'd probably buy the 1/4 scale NECA version for around 100.

the DC cmx sale ends tonight, maybe the image one too. Make sure to squander your money buying children's storybooks with excess words before then.

Also i totally got paint on the hat part but wiped it off with a toothpick.

just the DC linewide sale for tonight.

So....that image sale. It says the coupon doesn't work on books released after 11/15 .... thats not right. If you put in the code this weeks new releases are 50% off :/

Sombody goofed.

Does Archie 2015 go on sale regularly or ever? Kinda bummed it isnt part of the current Comixology Sale. (New to the game so no idea about sales patterns and such :P)

Rarely and their books don't drop in price after 1-2 months like image/idw and dark horse. DC used to do it too but not anymore.

I just remembered how the Civil War movie spends all its time building up the threat of five more Winter Soldiers, and then it shoots that whole thing dead so it ends up being about tony and steve's bullshit feelings

I like the book, but my takeaway from every issue is that Archie is a legit bad person in addition to the constant artist changes with each worse than the last.

Flow's Omega Men summary.

Omega Men is one hell of a series because:

1. it doesn't feel like a cape book
2. it is not for kids. Like seriously this is King's most violent book.
3. Tom king is not afraid of writing about religion. The way he ties Earth's religion with the Aliens is genius.

then it goes further:

1.we get a complete breakdown of Kyle as a lantern and his resolve.
2. the people we are led to believe are bad are actually morally grey. Like they all have pretty solid reasons for what they do. Hell when you find out about the Robot and scrapps. you just feel like crying .
3. This series is not afraid to kill off characters.

The series also gives us probably one of the most ruthless characters ever.
The princess

she is like black cat and cat woman but on a whole nother league.

Even at the end of the of series the ending is not necessary a good one. The problems The omega men faced in the book is not something that can be resolved by killing bad guys.

The book feels like one giant space epic and that is rare these days. I fully recommend this series for the 6 bucks it is going for. Did the best I could do Vanwrinkle.

I put vision slightly above due to vision being a tighter book.

I loved Archie Vol. 1 Wish Staples had stayed on the book, though.

^Great summary, flow. Completely agree. Loved how it ended so much. So realistic.

yea King did a great job of bringing realism and ideologies into a space fiction book.

I think Omega Men and Sheriff are the type of books you could write essays and teach classes on.

Spiderman #11

the issue was about Mile's dad and it was probably one of the best written issues yet. Like damn. On one hand Bendis needs to stop playing around and give us more Miles. On the other hand every issue has been fantastic.

The series is moving slow, but idc at this point. this is one of my favorite books.

Thanos #2

Not a fan of Thanos, but Lemire is writing one interesting book about him. This is the baddest dude in the Galaxy. Watching him rekt is entertaining. Can't believe I am pulling a Thanos solo book in 2016.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone been keeping up with how well CMX and MU have been in filling in their old gaps? Like, are things still added on a pretty frequent and hefty basis, or no? And how bad are the holes nowadays? Like, obviously they're definitely, definitely not even close to something that could be reasonably called "done". But, like, how many big old runs are actually filled in completely? Like, say, I'm guessing neither likely have all of the Spider-man related stuff even, but what about just the main run of Amazing Spider-man? And if so, then how about Spectacular Spider-man? Or, like, the X line in general? Or Batman and Detective Comics?

I never even started it. Not going to at this point. How many chapters are they up to these days?

Thanks for this. Already been on the US Jump train since it launched (and years and years back into the physical before that happened), but I was about to run out in about a month and totally would've missed this code when I went to renew.

Current chapter is 850.

I know the number looks daunting but the quality has been consistently great. Most arcs I would rate an 8/10 or a 9/10 with maybe a couple of arcs dropping down to 7/10. The world building remains consistent and expansive, possibly one of my favourites in any medium.
