I read somewhere she was worth north of 300M$ (which is a pretty believable number when you think about the amount of success she had in her career) so yeah I don't see how 1M$ more or is gonna change anything for her.
I really feel like she just doesn't give a fuck anymore or she was so wasted that she didn't realize she had a way out.

I didn't get paid to sing on TV. Even if I were drunk it would be far less funny and embarrassing situation.
I also don't think her being drunk had much to do with it.

Yeah, watching the replay I buy this. It seemed like she was actually trying to sing the first song but couldn't find a place to start. Whether the monitor rig crapped out, or if she was on in ears and they powered down I could see it causing a major problem. She couldn't hear the front of house PA, I'm sure of that.
On the second song, I bet somebody made the call to just play tracks and they told her to try and lip sync, which was obviously a disaster too.
Oh, and it's kind of interesting how the backing tracks on that first song contained just the high notes. She clearly can't hit them anymore, which is fine, but it's interesting that they put them there.
With her damaged vocals and general drunkness? No.

The woman literally ruled the 90s along with Whitney. Just about everything she put out back then was either a chart topper or flat out amazing. Music Box remains my favorite album of hers.

But I would argue that it was already really bad before the audio/technical issues become apparent. I was already noticing her badly lip-syncing at the very beginning when I saw it live and even pointed it out to my sister. She also wouldn't have needed help coming down those steps near the first part of the performance if it was just technical issues. This was a perfect storm of everybody fucking up: the crew and Mariah for just being a general mess and getting drunk before a big performance. Like I said earlier, I noticed she seemed off and drunk even in her interview hours before the performance.

I tuned in a a couple of mins late into her performance.. and in like 5 secs in i knew shits about to be a disaster and a joke in social media. That was awful. And it hurts that it's gotta be her that's the 2016s final victim of fuckery.
Why the fuck didn't she stop the performance and redo it then? This isn't her first rodeo wtf.

A Nickelodeon show called 'Fifteen" that used to air in the 90s.
Putting the YouTube video and the GossipCop video together, they just straight up didn't play her vocal track on the first song. I doubt they even tested it more than once, because she said herself that there was never any soundcheck.
As there was never any soundcheck and as she was never expected to sing in the first place, they never turned on her monitor. And it snowballed from there.
As she says herself, the second track was simply the album track. She always expected that (as she said it herself), but she felt completely defeated after that first disaster.
Again, they straight up never played her vocal track, which is more than likely the track she recorded for her Vegas show. She was always supposed to lipsync as there was never a soundcheck.
Nobody was wrong here. All the tea and jokes are piping HOT and FRESH.
