i think this is new, right?

Am I seeing diet racism in this thread? All black dudes look the same?

This is David Harewood. He was in Killzone and Homeland.

This is Lance Reddick. He was in The Wire and is in Horizon.

They look nothing alike.

It's fucked up that people confused them. Harewood sure does appear in a ton of games nowadays - Killzone, Infinite Warfare. I probably liked him most in the Rainbow Six Siege advertisements though.

Actually they do especially if the first guy had a bald head.

This game looks INCREDIBLE, which is what I expect of any GG title, but I'm gonna be more reserved in my hype. They have yet to deliver a good story in their games. They are great with coming up with lore, but when it comes to putting together a riveting plotline for the actual game with well realized characters to draw us in...they have yet to pass the test imo. I'm really hoping Horizon changes that, but I don't want to hype myself up too much.

I also hope the game plays well. I'm not too concerned with the game having fun systems for experimentation, but rather the actual combat scenarios and overall gameplay loop standing up during the entire play duration. GG's previous titles had issues in these areas imo.

Overall though, I'm extremely happy with what I've seen so far. I'm just reserved because I felt this way about almost every other GG title and was ultimately disappointed or at least underwhelmed with the final product.

I can't find anything confirming a photomode. Some of the photomodes from Sony have a similar look, which makes it seem like they could share it with other studios. So, hopefully Guerrilla gets in contact with them if they haven't already. This is one of those games that absolutely should have a photomode.

So true. It's one of my most used features this generation and I love that pristine first party games like Bound, Uncharted 4, Infamous SS/FL, and TLOU have it.

Yeah the voice acting seems a bit off, but I don't even care. I need this game in my veins. Looking absolutely stellar as always.

Lol subtle.

Pre-rendered? What are you asking . I think you got confused. CGI are pre-rendered . This is realtime.

pre-rendered also refers to cut scenes when additional level of details are added to in-game cut scenes (higher levels of textures, post-processing effects and so on that is not possible or sustainable during normal gameplay).

I believe Guerilla was in a bit of spack for this for the Killzone e3 demo back in the day. The drama centered around statements saying that it was not a CGI trailer, yet the technical term they meant was that while it was using the assets as it existed from within the engine (model rigging, blocking and so on) they had manipulated and added detail that would not be possible during real time gameplay. The turns on and off effects depending on if it is outputting a cinematic or real time.
Gamesutra had a good article on this (but I cannot seem to find it) with how Doom 3 was one of the first games to use normal and specular mapping on special pre rendered character models.

This is a game that has consistently managed to look better and better with each new trailer, and it also has loads of gameplay footage right up my alley. Honestly, I was highly intrigued when I first saw it two years ago, but now I may actually pick it up within launch week. It looks to be something special.

I'm still going to be pretty reserved towards it; as a single-player game, I want to hear impressions of its story first and foremost. While I keep expectations low, I remain optimistic in that it's gonna be a keeper.

I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill considering no one really questions how good GG can make their games look. That Killzone controversy was from a decade ago and I think has no reason to apply to their games anymore. They make incredible looking games, in game, in cutscenes or what have you.

In Uncharted 4 cutscenes are Ingame with detail lighting but they are still realtime . i know that cutscene can be pre rendered too , but this is not CGI and not Pre-renderd, untill stated otherwise by the developer itself.

Your first post is mainly About CGI , i hope you have been clear about that know , this is not CGI.

Secondly you are know going into the territory of "Because Guerrila" "Killzone 2" , so really i don't want to get into discussion about that. Skepticism is good and you have every right to think like that.

But this trailer is much more lifelike than the reveal one ,TBH.

People should be able to recognize its Lance Reddick from his voice alone. At least, all of those hours in Destiny kind of burn it into your skull anyway.

Regardless, meh. Can't say I'm interested.

Why do people criticize the facial animations? I mean obviously it's not ND level but shouldn't we compare facial animations to other big RPGs like TW3 etc? How does this compares next to them?

Because of how the shots are composed during dialogue scenes. They put the faces front and center.

At first I thought it was this guy actually. I watch a lot of TV Shows so I get confused sometimes, hahahaha.

Lmao you mother fucker. God damn I'm crying over here. Don't know why but this shit made me laugh more than anything I've ever read on gaf.

Edit: I take that back. Derp Drake on the piano had me laughing for so long that my fiance thought I was crazy. When I showed her what I was laughing at she looked at me like I was stupid and I lost it even more.

The breath of relief after a good laugh is the best.

What? The one thing that actually impressed me about this was the facial capture and animation.

Especially compared to other open world games. I said it earlier but nothing except Rockstar's games and the best of the best from Ubisoft comes anywhere close to matching Horizon. Games like Star Citizen as well but that is still a work in progress. This games looks better than the vast majority of single player narrative driven games that are not Naughty Dog made IMO. Its not hard to outdo Geralt being stone faced and shrugging a lot.

did I say it was?

Well you said never say two people of the same race look alike so I can only assume you meant that it would be a racist comment otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned race at all.

In many cases no but it can certainly be incredible ignorant and insensitive.

What is wrong or insensitive about saying two people look alike? I mean I get it if you're telling someone they look like an obviously hideous person but other than that malicious case I don't get it.
