After watching the English version of the trailer, the voice acting sounds a bit iffy for the Deku/unknown named tree and the other voice.

I liked the Japanese VA. I hope there is an option to switch VA in the western version of the game.

Good to know that the Wii U version launches the same day as the Switch version...

Not sure what people are on about regarding the voice acting. Sounds good to me.

Can someone help me out with the Amiibo stuff? I haven't owned Nintendo hardware in a while.

How many of those things are compatible with BotW? It sounds like there are 5 different ones you can use?

Was about to ask the same, but looks like there's no information whether it'll have dual audio or not?

This was the first time in many years where a Zelda trailer has trumped a Mario trailer for me personally.

I haven't given Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword the time that should be afforded to them, but as a stalwart defender of Link to the Past & Link's Awakening it felt like that the series was coming home. It captured me in a way that I haven't felt in a long time for a series that I have loved immensely but seemingly ignored recently. It was an enjoyable experience to feel again.

Well, I personally think it's good. As for the accent, well it's kinda obvious from the very beginning of this game's reveal when she said "Wake up, Link."

In any event, hopefully in the days to come and in the real game Zelda talks a bunch so the VA has more chance to display her work.

Seriously tho, one of the best game trailers I have ever seen. For me, it's great in every aspect.
By vague I meant the accent isn't very convincing.

Don't forget the fact that they showed her having emotions other than being stoic and badass - even crying. Zelda is a traitor to her gender.
Nice strawman.

Ok, I'm just repeating myself here, but upon a few listens, the music is on another level. Holy shit!

Absolutely. Probably the best orchestral piece they have made since Mario Galaxy 1. This OST has masterpiece potential and so has this game. WOW.

I really hope they use Ganondorf in some form. The designs for the other characters have been so fantastic, I'd love to see what they did with him. I guess it depends where the game falls time line wise. Calamity Ganon's design is creepy, especially with the dislocating snake jaw going on. The Zoras look incredible, and the Great Fairy design is so good - she's got a middle-aged Marie Antoinette meets the Little Mermaid thing going on, so amazing.

So gooooooood.

Oh, dear lord.

Just watched the on my TV and the game looked spectacular to me, biggest goosebumps since an long time.

This is imo one of the best trailers out of every media that I've ever seen :-)

Oh, dear lord.

We have someone in this thread actually saying that Zelda crying emotionally into Link's hold is a sign of weakness and that that scene is designed to show how female character "comfort" the men.

Fighting for a stronger female representation in a popular video game series like Zelda is a worthy cause, but that kind of argument is just nonsensical to the point of absurdity.

Japanese voicing sounds way better.
I'll put it in Japanese if I have the option. It better have the option.
Agreed. Initially watched the Japanese version, and then saw the English version. The English voice acting does not seem to be very tight.

Urgh, dear lord all-round. As you said, it's an important discussion to have, and the hyperbole doesn't help anyone.

Don't expect that kind of music in the game. Felt like it was scored just for this trailer.

What music directly from the game have we heard, by the way?

Okay. That was incredible.

I'll be honest: i think it's a shame that Nintendo machines are so underpowered, because i think a game like this and the artists that worked on it deserve better.
First thing i notice when i watch this trailer (or any other Switch trailer) is how shimmery things are because of jaggies. That's a shame. HOWEVER, in this case i was captivated by the world, the art-direction, the music, the scale, etc. This game is going to be fucking EPIC!

Day ONE.

Best Trailer I've seen of ZBotW... now I'm at a loss whether to buy it on the Wii U at all or buy it when I get the Switch.

Decisions decisions

Well, that's the thing. She was neither stoic nor badass in the trailer. The trailer went far and wide to portray this Zelda as a cowering little damsel meant to be saved by the almighty hero.

Such an antiquated trope. Not surprising considering this is the same company that refuses to open the gates towards a female Link for "tradition's" sake.

Wow, it has a german dub and a good one at that. What the fuck.
What is it with German dubs being better than English dubs? FFXV had this too.

I know this is taboo talk, but... this is definitely the Fallen Hero timeline. I would also accept being proven wrong and have it be pre-Wind Waker where Link fails to some extent in the end.

The game looks so good. Soooooooo good. I can't believe it's out so soon.

Somehow I already expected that. Some people apparently think that you can't have a character showing any moment of weakness or else they're not a "strong female character" anymore.

I'm not a Zelda fan by any means but that trailer was HYPE.

Nice to see some emotional consequences to a story in a Zelda game.
