Wii U for sure. Not going to pay $360 plus tax for the Switch and the game when it's unclear if the console with succeed. And this is not a game you want to wait for if you can avoid it.
Sigh...
In the event the Switch version of BoW runs substantially better, then Switch. I plan on picking one up anyway, but was trying to avoid the day one craze. I don't mind playing on the Wii U (in fact I like the Wii U's gamepad) but I certainly don't want an inferior product.
Nintendo will optimize it on the Wii U, I'm sure.
$60 or $360.
Really tough decision.
Such a shame you are unable to connect the Switch to the same TV where your Wii U is and play the game at a sightly higher resolution than the Wii U version.Wii U. It's where this Zelda belongs.
Also, this game looks so beautiful and detailed that play it in a 6 inch screen would be a capital crime.
I'm worried there won't be a next time if it does near Wii U numbersYep.
Getting to play it on the go for 3 hours at a time is NOT worth $300, sorry Nintendo. Try harder next time.
I'm in the same boat. Really hope the performance doesn't suffer. The conference unsold me on the Switch.
I will be picking up Zelda on the Wii U. I hope it runs okay.
I'm not sure which version I'll get yet. What's betterbeing able to play outside of my house, or having a secondary touch screen with a map and items? I can't decide.
My Wii U is staying plugged in for several more years at least, so that isn't a factor.
I had my credit card out ready to order a switch before the presentation last night, but after how lack luster that was I will be purchasing on Wii U and not buying a switch at launch.
IGN is claiming Wii U version runs better than Switch version right? That's one concern. Another is buying a console for one game when nothing of note will be available until the holiday.
The same people who bought Twilight Princess on the GameCube, I guess.

Well for me at least, they didn't show anything that interested me outside of Zelda and Xenoblade 2, and I don't expect XB2 to be out until much later so buying a Switch at launch would really be just for BoTW.
But to be fair, from first impressions, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 don't seem all that different from their Wii U counterparts. And Super Mario Odyssey is the only other new game coming in 2017 with massive appeal. For the initial months, I bet a majority of Switch buyers will be doing so primarily for BotW.
What was it in last night's presentation that had you go from ready to pull the trigger to NOPE? What complete transformation happened during that one hour that changed your mind?
What did you think the Switch was going to be? Was it the games lineup? The price? I mean, there wasn't any new revelatory info that completely changed what the Switch was from the October reveal. I'm just confused as to why so many people are like, "oh man I was ready to purchase but after the presentation...meh".
Was it the fact that you can play the damn newest hottest most epic Zelda handheld?! Was it the graphical improvements that got you down? Was it the new additions to great franchises like Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? What?! WHAT?!
Ok sorry to yell I'm just baffled.
Likely but I want to see comparisons.
At launch, sure. But buying a console that you know will have games you intend to buy in the future means you are not spending $360 on a console that only plays BotW. Thus the short-sighted viewpoint.
That said I totally get not wanting to drop $300 plus another $60 on a console that you will only be playing said $60 game on for several months, especially if you have a Wii U and technically don't need the Switch in order to play said $60 game.
But let's be realistic, if you are dropping $360 on a Nintendo Switch with absolutely no intention of buying any other games outside BotW in the future then that's a little silly.
And if you spend $300 on a Switch, play Zelda for the first few months until more games you want come out then you did not spend $360 just to play Zelda. You spent that money to play all future Switch titles you might want.
For me personally:What was it in last night's presentation that had you go from ready to pull the trigger to NOPE? What complete transformation happened during that one hour that changed your mind?

As its the healthy choice. And i normally buy systems day one. Lets who bites firstI probably will, the days of me spending enough time playing games to justify buying consoles at launch are long gone. I'll pick up a switch in a year or two when there is a broader library of titles.
The total would be $359.98 plus tax. Sales tax in Texas is 8.25% so the grand total would be $432.98
