They ship "internationally" in so far that you can order anything from them too if you live in Belgium.

Dutch GAFers are often quickly to forget that Belgium isn't some southern province of their great country, and that many game deals also apply to Belgium. Bol.com isn't even a Dutch company, btw. It's German (Bertelsmann On-Line).

Anyway, the FAQ do vaguely mention delivery to other countries. It says that anything besides drugs/medicine, electrical appliances, items that need scheduling (e.g. a large appliance like a refrigerator that the company will deliver and install) and items from third party sellers can be delivered outside of Belgium and the Netherlands.

You can set the site language to English now, in case you didn't know. Top right there's a dropdown menu for language.

Not sure if they will ship console hardware internationally though.

Not necessarily. The UK could revise their own legislation and change the tax rate they would charge on packages coming in from the continent.

Most likely, you WILL have to pay tax though, because you can expect some form of protectionism toward the UK's own market. But it's not a given that you will pay taxes on imports from the EU going forward.

Edit: don't expect the UK to leave the single market any time soon, btw. Gonna be at least 2019 before that actually materializes. In the meantime, negotiations involving the Brexit could potentially further tank the pound sterling though. So that would be an immediate effect on all of your wallets.

Really depends on the trade agreements the UK establishes with the EU in the future. If speculators for whatever reason think those agreements are highly favourable to the UK, that would be very good for the pound. Also, what would happen if more countries would try to follow the UK's example and choose to leave the EU? That would set a whole new dynamic in motion.

Rationally, you'd expect a negative outcome right now. But the economy is often more motivated by emotions than reason.
 
Well thankfully it looks the £ is getting stronger as a result of Mays speech. Would have thought it would have dropped but shows what a mess markets are 😂

It is because anyone who can read a newspaper already knew the basic content on the speech and that was already about 90% priced in to the exchange rare. The drop over the last few days was less "we think the speech is going to be bad" and more traders shorting the pound. Small rise as the speech confirmed what was already priced in by the market.

The initial 20% drop in June was a statement about the negative investment prospects due to the vote. The small fluctuations since - that the papers like to make so much about - is mainly currency traders trying to make money.

Yup. the March releases all seem to be 50, apart from 12switch at 40. Games further off such as Mario and Splatoon still 60, likely will see a drop nearer release.
 
Not sure what's going on with Amazon but my pre order of the Switch console has my ETA of 4th March which is obviously a day after release despite me preordering within minutes of it becoming available.

So I've just we to preorder Zelda and that's also 4th March! Not sure if the warehouse nearest Warrington is useless but I'd like my stuff before release date if anything, not a day late.

Don't worry about the ETA, it'll be fixed. Same stuff happened with PSVR.
 
I don't think I've paid more than £40 for a game at launch from Amazon since I came to the UK a year ago. And that's all the big AAA games like Overwatch, NMS, Uncharted, BF1, TF2, etc Is paying £50 for a disc version common?

Or is it just shitty exhange rates and Nintendo combining into one big ball of suck?

Prices will go down coming up to launch, but typically launch day for a new console see's a lot of games commanding a premium price. Then factor that in with the weak pound.

I still think games will typically be around £40 on amazon

I noticed the Japanese Nintendo website had an April date for it coming out so perhaps in a few months time. If worst comes to worst you might be able to buy one directly from Nintendo by calling their customer support (I remember early on the Wiis life Nintendo UK would sell AC adapters but later on they refused to sell the Gamecube controller port covers which lead to this small saga)

Yeah but neither play the new Zelda, the new Mario etc etc it's all dependent on what the buyer wants.

Xbox One S is a great price, but I have a PS4 and a PC, I don't need one. To a consumer without eitehr of those though, clearly an xbox one is going to be an attractive prospect unless they want the newest Nintendo games and the ability to take them on the go.

But yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. With 20% off, all I'd be doing is buying new games from Amazon. I wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else. But the 2€ "deal" might as well not even exist.

To innovators and early adopters of technology, price is not typically a major concern.

So as a vendor you don't have to convince these buyers not so much by the price tag, but by the "usefulness" of your technology.

Once you reach out to a different type of customer (which Nintendo will be doing months after the Switch launch), who is more price sensitive, you'll have to add more "value" to your proposition, e.g. a bundle with a pack-in title.

I've been wishing that I could get GameStop to charge me now for my Breath of the Wild Master Edition, but sadly not. I see that Sterling seems to have risen today, at least.
