A fox eh? Where you see that? I cant wait to see all the wildlife
There's a fox in the beginning of the latest trailer, I believe.
Yeah...Link killing animals feels so wrong. In any other Zelda the animals would just revolt and kill Link while also being invincible. xD

I wonder if dead horses leave meat. I'd be so sad if my "Epona" died and left nothing but a slab of meat. Or...like, you're on the brink of death and the only thing you have is your horse. Hahaha...
Hey, that's right, will they keep the chickens?

how long will be this game? any ideas, rumors ?

Nothing solid, I'm pretty sure, but the game world is several times larger than Skyrim. It took my girlfriend several hundred hours to finish Skyrim. Even if we assume there's not quite as many quests (and I think that'd be reasonable), we should still be looking at a safely 90-100 hour game.

I'd think you expect too much of Nintendo. It might as well be half that time, just with a higher polish than elsewhere.

It really depends on your play style, I feel. I mean, I rushed through TP the first time and it took 38 hours. I played SS at a leisurely pace, not even completing all heart pieces, and it took 60. BotW is substantially larger than either of those two games, by the looks of it.

holly shit, really? nobody got time for that

Both Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess are 35-40 hours. Twilight Princess took me 90 hours to 100% (Although, I was a slowpoke and refused to look up anything...so)

I'd say this is going to be a 40-100 hour game...but probably even more than that considering how huge it is. The main story could very well be 35 hours like the past mainline titles.

It'll be interesting to see the speedruns if you can skip the majority of the game though.

What...? How?

I think if you are trying to 100% the game going through all 100+ of the shrines alone should take up a huge amount of time. Just based on the ones we've seen so far I'd say they average out to 6-7+ minutes when getting every chest and not rushing through. That right there is already more than 600-700 minutes aka 10-12 hours of gameplay.

And then you have the massive, massive world 10x larger than that of Skyrim. The amount of other locations like towns, caves, and dungeons will likely be smaller than that of Skyrim but I'd wager 100%ing this game would take well over 100 hours, all things considered.

Well we can try. At E3 some of the media got 40 minutes hands on time with the game. They were allowed to explore the whole Plateau region and complete 2/4 Shrines I believe. They were able to explore a whole lot but not exactly the whole area. Let's say to completely explore the Great Plateau and complete all 4 Shrines it will take 90 minutes, though it could very well take 30+ minutes more to find all the secrets and such available.

Nintendo has repeatedly stated that the Great Plateau is about 2% of the game world, though it is a bit more densely packed with content than many other parts. Fan assessments of the map put it possibly as low as 1%. Let's stick with 2% though to factor in the fact that it is more dense than other areas of the world.

90 min to explore 2% would be 4500 minutes or 75 hours probably at a minimum for a completionist type run. If you consider the Great Plateau to be just half a percentage point less and represent only 1.5% of the game world size that pushes total playtime to 100 hours. Or conversely if it takes 120 minutes or 2 hours to explore it at 2% that would be the same thing.

All in all, this will be a big ass game.

Best Zelda? I think so. I'm also very fond of OoT and TP Zeldas.

best Zelda confirmed.

Back to that spoiler, it explains why
Aonuma made such weird excuses for Link being male. So there's still hope for FemLink.
best Zelda confirmed.
Too whiny. I dig the eyebrows, tho. Shame she may not be putting them to work.

thanks you for the details.

I only think they have revealed maybe a few early cinematics of her. No doubt she will become hero and true holy princess. keep posted.
I would like to see a normal person Zelda, guess it's not happening this time. Before someone asks, SS was too animu.

|OT| It'll release in 2015, right?

IOTI *cries in Japanese*

This is good.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT| A Miyazaki movie, but without the girls

Lol...that hurts.

I think we'll get a surprise. Or you know...just make a small DLC with playable Zelda in it and we'll eat it up. C'mon Nintendo.

She looks like a sad puppy. I'd like to see another expression from her aside from sad and very sad. D:

So... I was revisiting the old videos of Zelda (E3 2014), and it's funny to see Aonuma with the snapping fingers (a trait we see often in the Switch conference) to show for the first time BotW... XD

https://youtu.be/XZmxvig1dXE

Not sure if at that time, they (Nintendo) were actually thinking/planning on the new console (hyperbole mine, exageration, etc.)...

Very true. I think you are correct. Also, rewatching this I picked up on a few things:
1. Open world is also puzzle solving confirmed
2: LINK IS AMBUSHING The guardian by wearing the hood. The hooded rider is some kind of guardian bait.

Looking back at that trailer made me realize we haven't seen those laser arrows in action.

I doubt they got cut from the game, so maybe they're story related?

Is it me or does it look like the general world is empty ? I've seen very few mobs out in the wild for this game. I hope it isn't essentially windwaker on land.

I don't feel that this accusation is accurate, there's quite a lot of stuff in the world and a nice amount of variety to it all.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT| Hero of Crime?!
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT| Skyrim Sword
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT| Living young and wild and free...

SS had 5, and this has a massive open world. And it doesn't seem to include the usual host of bugs that typically ship with open world titles.

Considering that, and the 100+ shrines, we shouldn't really expect more than 4 dungeons.

I wouldn't be surprised if they re-used the same world in future games, honestly. Maybe even just a different threat/quest. I can't imagine them starting from scratch again.
