I don't blame people for not wanting to attend America's funeral. Funerals are depressing.

It's plausible!

Obama's Inauguration was on a Tuesday and it happened before the recession really kicked in gear

right wingers have no excuse

And Obama's inauguration was historic. We were swearing in the first black president in history.

No one cares about attending the inauguration of yet another old white dude... Even if he's chemically altered himself orange... Except maybe to protest it.

An amazing friend actually gave me her second ticket to go to the inauguration in 2009 and I can confirm it was unbearably cold. You also had to arrive really early (because of the expected numbers) then stand for hours just to make sure you got an okay spot, and you still didn't have as good a view as all the people watching back home. On departure, it took over an hour and a half to get through the crowded mass of people back to public transit.

Would not trade it in for anything.

But keeping that in mind: the crowds for Obama had to deal with all that and still showed up. So this "oh, but Republicans have jobs and were working" response is hilarious.

That graph really needs to extend back further than Bush of all people, a president that started 2 wars in his first term.

That's because the ones that support trump are hardworking Americans toiling away during the workweek.

The obvious excuse is that everyone is so poor after Obamas very big failure and very bad economic policies, the worst policies, that they can't get to DC for the inauguration despite desperately wanting to be there.

His base is the Midwestern working poor. Of course they're not there. They can not afford the day off from work or the travel expenses.

Inauguration crowd size estimates:

-Obama 2009: 1,800,000
-Trump 2017: 250,000

"I'm sure it was the weather....."
Obama 2009: It was 28 degrees with mid-teens windchill.
Trump 2017: It was 45-50 degrees with some light rain.

Very sad!

My brother's sharing pictures showing how these pictures are just cherry-picked, and that Trump actually had an enormous turn-out in comparison... And the crowds are much much bigger. But I have a feeling those are the cherry-picked captures. But no, he says people are just sharing these pictures to make Trump look bad.

It's hopeless, anything I show my own family is hand waved as fake. They also want to know why people won't just investigate Hillary already, instead of, "just looking here and there," on her.

:(

Not so.

New Republic said:
The average Trump voter is not poorly educated or unemployed, nor does he live in a rural area. Back in May, FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver punctured the myth of the “working class” being Trump’s voter base: In exit polls of 23 states from the primaries, all showed a higher median income for Trump supporters than the national average, usually around $70,000. Exit polls last week, while not definitive, reveal that both college-educated white men and college educated white women voted for Trump by much higher than expected margins.

While it is true that many rural voters who backed Obama in 2008 and 2012 voted for Trump this year, these voters hardly comprise the majority of Trump’s 60 million votes, as rural voters made up only 17 percent of this year’s electorate. Most rural voters generally vote Republican anyway. Clinton’s decision not to target these voters may seem foolhardy in hindsight, but these voters have not been a key Democratic demographic for many decades. Moreover, as a longtime member of the Washington establishment, Clinton was always going to be a hard sell to these voters in a change election.

Here's the entire parade route in one video

and here I am, thinking they voted for him because they needed jobs.

Well 2009 was a once in a lifetime monumental moment.

The only thing that will ever come close to Obama attendance will be whomever our first woman president will be. (Or first gay president?)

Another right-wing photo conspiracy.

The photo on the right was taken at 6-7 am this morning.

Sunrise in DC wasn't until just before 7:30am
