Horizon Zero Dawn | Cinematic Trailer

Seems like it's a larger artbook than the one included in the Collector ed, no (48pages)?
Darnit! Loooks amazing.

on top of that if you look closely on the left side there's a lithograph as well, which i presume (hopefully) comes with the artbook.

and the statue in the background as well. we need a closer look at that imo

Curious when it'll go gold. Cutting it real close to the usual one month lead time needed for most AAA games.

Also, there's still need to the typical final preview/review cycle.

On top of showing gameplay, Art Director Roy Postma and Producer Samrat Sharma also answered a few questions from the hosts, giving some interesting information about the game.

We learn that there will be many NPCs in the world, and in some cases they'll join Aloy on her quests and fight alongside her, while in other cases Aloy will be able to join them on their own quests.

Players will be able to ride other machines later in the game, not just the Broadhead that we have seen so far. Postma was asked whether we'll be able to ride flying machines, but he said he couldn't answer that question (some might consider the lack of answer interesting on its own, but of course that would be just speculation).

Sharma also exoplained that enemy level scales up with Aloy's level as she progresses through the game.

Sounded great up until "enemies level with Aloy". That's bullshit.

I've seen the part where that he said that, and I can't help but feel there's a bit of mistranslation/misunderstanding to a degree.

He answered that in respond to a question "does this game have difficulty levels like easy/medium/hard", but for some reason he fumbled at it and gave some weird 'you level up blah blah blah answer."

I guess we'll see. I mean don't get me wrong, Horizon is still my most anticipated game. Oblivion was still a phenomenal game despite having enemies leveling along with the player.

Jesus, the combat looks atrocious in that video, what's going on there?

It looks like a poor implementation of Soft Lock on. The player themselves also doesn't appear to be that good at the game. Also they have god mode enabled it seems. Also health regenerates to a baseline level which I'm not sure I like.

That part has been played multiple times before in other media. The combat is great, the player behind the video though is not. Watch GiantBomb Hitman videos and you will think the game is trash.

Even then it seems the soft lock on and homing properties of the Melee have quite a few issues.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but is the Deluxe Edition going to be worth the extra 10 dollars?

Only seems to come with a Digital Artbook and a bunch of extra outfits, but wondering if they seem good enough to be worth it?

Extra outfits are not important for me and the Digital Artbook I would probably never touch so I pre-ordered the normal version instead.

Bleh, I just hate Aloy's character design. She's so gross looking. Definitely need to wait to find out of the gameplay is good, because I am not going to enjoy staring at her the whole time.

Will probably avoid the previews out of fear of spoilers like I did with UC4's Madagascar previews (it's arguable that that section wasn't spoiler-y but this far out I don't want to see more of a game). At the very least I definitely won't watch preview footage. But hopefully the impressions are very positive.

I'm in the same boat. Not gonna watch footage but will read impressions. Hope they're great!
