How much are you spending on a Switch day one?

I have a ton of friends coming into town on the 3rd, it's excruciating (lol). I'm going to take off work then binge play all morning til they show up and then maybe take Monday off to make up for missed time. This is me talking after having already worked 70 hours of OT this year and working through New Years Holiday. In a month I may be cooled down and more patient. :)

Edit: Not many people buying an extra AC Adapter. I haven't looked into it much but I kind of figured out of convenience I'd want one always plugged into the dock so I can keep the wires near my TV tidy and a second one for moving around the house/traveling.

Edit Edit: Decided to look into it, LMAO Polygon.

This made me think-

The AC adaptor plugs into the dock obviously, but is there any word on charging the Switch on the go? That doesn't require the AC adaptor, right? You should be able use any USB-C charger I would imagine... has Nintendo given any official word there?

As of right now Day 1 i'm spending:
Grey Console - $299.99
Zelda: BotW CE - $99.99

I'll probably order my microSDXC card before march, but if i can get a pro controller day one i will so...

$399.98 - $469.97 if you want to include memory card then around $500 plus tax.

Regular console: $300
Zelda Special Edition: $80 Amazon Prime
Gamestop Screen Protector: $10
Maybe a set of blue Joy cons: $80

$390 + plus tax or $470 plus tax

That's it for now, but it's totally subject to change if there are virtual console games available at launch.

$300 Switch (Gray)
$80 Neon Joycons
$40 Charging Grip
$50 Zelda (prime discount)
$40 Bomberman (prime discount)
$40 1-2 Switch (prime discount)
$40 128gb sd card

So a bit over six hundred when tax and might still end up ordering some stuff like a carrying case

So far...

Nintendo Switch: $255 (I had $45 in rewards at BB)
Zelda: $36 (GCU + Visa Checkout)
Pro controller: 7420 yen which is about $65 right now I believe (hopefully the yen > dollar conversion doesn't change too much by March)
No tax because of New Hampshire..so I'm at around $355 right now.

Still trying to decide on a case of some kind. The available cases seem kind of tacky..I might go with a gear pouch from Waterfield for $40. It looks like the dimensions can fit a Switch.

I'm also still considering Bomberman (never played Bomberman before, though!), and I really want a set of neon red joy-cons but they haven't gone up on BB yet..plus I don't really need them quite yet (until ARMs really). I will definitely be getting Snipperclips day 1 whenever it releases.

Definitely. You can use a USB-C cable that plugs into battery packs, outlets, etc. I'm not really sure why I bought it, might just keep it plugged in at my bed side or return it, but buying from Nintendo is most definitely the more expensive route.

I use this for my Nexus 6P USB C Cable and will most likely use this when I need to charge and there are only USB outlets available (planes, cars, etc).

We still don't know how much current the Switch is compatible with, no? I guess that depends more on the source you are connecting it to as long as the cable supports a decent current.

I'm a little hesitant about choosing a charging solution until the console comes out because USB-C is still fairly new.

Obviously the console and what comes with it, Zelda, an official case, pro controller. Will be enough to start thing off, and Zelda's going to be a 200 hour game anyways..

Console - 299
Zelda - 48
Case - 15

I want the Pro Controller but I think the grip and a Joycons will be fine for that game. I'll wait until a game like USF2 is out that needs it.

Switch - £280
Zelda - £40

Might get a 64gb SD card too, so that's another £17.39 according to amazon.

All in all, £337.39, assuming I get the SD card.

I calculated $381 with Zelda and Virginia sales tax, of which i've paid $55 down. Trying to make sure i set aside some of my excess savings this month and next month so that i don't become a shut-in all of March because i blew my entire Fun Budget in the first weekend.

Day one

Grey console £279.99
Breath of the Wild £47.99

£327.98 from Amazon.

Had the limited edition pre-ordered but cancelled when I saw that it wasn't the same as the NA version. I'd have paid the extra for the case and the soundtrack but not when it's just the sword and a sampler cd.

Also had the pro controller ordered but will wait for more hands on impressions after reading a few people saying the joy con grip is comfortable enough. Going to wait on the sd card too until more games come out, so that's it.

I'm already up to $440 with tax just buying the thing in Canada. Will get a Switch and Zelda for sure, and maybe Snipperclips at launch. Though if I get it I might pick up another JoyCon as well since I'd want to play it multiplayer. Gonna have to cancel another couple pre-orders before I do that though.

Should be about $420. Got the Switch at BestBuy and the two games on Amazon (Release date delivery and 20% off pre-order games).

Should do me just fine until Mario Kart in April and I'll likely get some eShop titles as well.

I think a pair of straps come with the console... So you don't need extra unless you get more joy cons.
They do, but it seems regardless of the system or joycons you buy they include the gray ones.

I guess there aren't many very close pictures of the dock details, but I assumed the official AC adapter was basically another USB charger that you could either plug straight into the system or a USB-C input at the back of the dock.

I'm not buying one.
Excellent.

As it is now, including tax, $318 for the console, $51 for Zelda, and $32 for the charging grip. I might cancel the charging grip, though. The fact that I'd be using it instead of the regular grip that comes with the system might drive me nuts.
