How much are you spending on a Switch day one?

Guaranteed:
Console: $300
Pro Controller: $70
Zelda BotW: $60

Maybe:
Super Bomberman R: $50
Grip Charger: $30
Screen Protector: $10

That sounds about right. Really for me it's a Zelda machine, until some other higher-profile games release like MK8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2.

Grey Swith - £280
Breath of the Wild Special Edition - £90
Pro Controller - £60
Amiibo's - £82
Case - £30
Screen Protector - £15

Total = £557

It could go up, depending on what titles are available on the eShop at launch.

Man... I just came here to say that I've moved to the very back car of the Switch hype train. I'm committed to getting the console and Zelda no matter what, but that's about it besides Snipperclips. I also have an Xbox One and a PS4, so I have plenty of options in terms of software. I guess I just feel like there's nothing else that's worth my money, especially when I already own many of the games. Even Mario Kart 8 isn't feeling like I need it on day one anymore as I already played it to death on Wii-U.

Anyone else in the same boat? I feel like I've just come to a place where I've evened out my hype levels. It honestly feels pretty good.

Yep. Nintendo is a third platform for me. I'm only getting Zelda at launch, and Mass Effect is my most anticipated game of the year by far.

Rest of the year I'll get MK8, Splatoon 2, and Mario for sure out of what's announced. Maybe Fire Emblem Warriors also.

Plenty for me to buy day one for Zelda and new console hype as it's a rare year I buy/play more than 5 games on whatever Nintendo platforms are out at the time post the N64 generation anyway.

My problem with my Xbox one and my ps4 is that I'm getting such similar games on each system. Just tired of the usual fare. The Nintendo and indie potential alone has me excited for the switch. I think the overall lineup looks solid, but hopefully, we get some more announcements come E3.

Pre-ordered = $360 + tax
Switch (Grey): $300
Breath of the Wild: $60

Probable day-1 = $400 + tax
Bomberman R: $40 (Amazon)

Strongly considering + $510 + tax
Binding of Issac: $40
Pro Controller: $70

Probably not, but have at least thought about = $700 + tax (lol)
- 1-2 Switch: $40 (Amazon)
- I am Sestuna: $40
- Blue joy con set: $80
- Red joy con set: $80

Part of me wants to buy 1x blue joy con set and 1x red joy con set. I love the idea of being able to mix and match colors. The more practical side knows that can wait. I don't have a pressing need for more than two players right out of the gate, plus i'm anxious to see if they do follow through at some point and release alternate joy cons with a d-pad.

So now it's:

Switch Console - £280
Zelda: BotW - £46
Super Bomberman R - £40
Pro Controller - £60
Amiibo (Bokoblin, Guardian) - £30

Total - £456

Yikes.

About $500, before tax.

Switch
1-2 Switch
Zelda
Just Dance
Some kind of case

Maybe more if some games are available digitally. My daughter has been watching me play Stardew Valley on my laptop and wants to play it so bad. I hope the Switch version is available soon. Same with Minecraft.

Day 1's Post release:
Arms
Minecraft
Stardew Valley
Splatoon 2
Mario Kart 8
Mario Odyssey

Nintendo Switch £279.99
Pro Controller £60
Zelda £48
Zelda The Complete Official Guide, Collectors Guide £25
Fast RMX £30(?)

£443

If you say it quickly then it doesn't sound too bad :)

Too much and it's kinda ridiculous considering the only launch game I want is Zelda. The launch lineup outside Zelda is awful, the lack of a Wii Sports style intro pack-in sucks (I'm looking at u 1-2 Switch) and the accessory pricing is fucking ridiculous. But I have serious pent up Nintendo lust after skipping Wii U. And despite Nintendo fucking up the pre-launch six ways from Sunday, I'm really hopeful the Switch will take off and at least triple Wii U sales. So... I'm onboard. All in. For now. Probably dropping about $800 on launch. 2 Switches (for my girl and I) + extra joycons, charge grip, Zelda SE...(Unless I cancel one of the Switches and pick another up around Black Friday/Xmas instead).

Looks like $132 Canadian. I was just going to get BotW for the WiiU, but once I realized I could trade up and get the Switch version WITH a switch for 50 bucks more... Well, that was was that.

I'm just getting the grey joycon version with BotW and I'll download snipperclips once I get home. I think some beer and some snipperclips might be a pretty fun night. I'll get some neon joycons later, but I want them to be the same colour, none of this mix and match malarkey.

Seeing as Fast Racing Neo was £10.99 when it launched, i'm hoping RMX is £15 at most!

Console EUR 276,47 (thank you Saturn)
Zelda EUR 64,99 (I hope it will be 59,99 until Launch)

341,46. That's ok.

I just spent an extra $28 on a USB C charger cable and a 11000mAh power bank.

While I will be spending $0, I fear I will receive $400 of entertainment watching the colossal disappointments of this system that are to come, much like the Ouya or No Man's Sky.

This could be an excellent post to revisit in a year.

Update in Canadian $.

System: 399.99
Pro Controller: 89.99
Zelda: 79.99
Binding of Isaac: 54.99
Case & Screen Protector: 24.98

734.43 with taxes.

Got Standard Switch, Zelda Limited, and Binding of Isaac. Traded in my PS4 and WiiU, got and extra $150 credit. In all I only spent $55 out of pocket.

Switch
Zelda BOTW Special Edition with 20% off Prime Discount
All Zelda BOTW Amiibo with 20% off Prime Discount

Wanted to get some controllers and all that, but with the Nier Automata Black Box edition coming out 4 days later would rather be sage than sorry.

On day one now, I owe 235.55.
Just got the Pro Controller and Breath of the Wild to pay off fully, owe a bit on the Switch itself.
Got BoI AB+ fully paid off.

Hoping to pick up $20/$50 in eshop money too.

Just got my 64 GB micro-SD for 149 kr. Also buying console for 3699 kr and Zelda for 599 kr. Total: 4447 kr (around $500).

Not cheap, at all. I think what ultimately made me decide to buy it now anyway was, apart from Zelda, that the hardware looks really solid. Both the OG DS and OG 3DS were quite mediocre, the DS especially, and then highly superior versions came along. The Switch looks really nice, it's thin and with a great screen. I do expect a new version of the Switch eventually, but I have much higher hopes of the OG Switch feeling good and adequate for a long time. Battery life isn't great, but I don't see there being huge improvements in later iterations; there's already a pretty big battery in there, and the technology moves very slowly.

I also don't expect any substantial price drop this year; I could see there being something like a Splatoon 2 bundle for the holidays that retails at the same price as the launch price, but that's a long wait for not that huge of a gain.

Australian dollars
Switch $479
Zelda $99
Carry case/screen protector $30
Maybe the charging grip $30
The unknown quantity for me will be the Virtual Console I haven't had a Nintendo since the GameCube. There are a lot of classics I would go overboard on.

I grabbed neon console, BotW Master Edition so far will maybe grab Bomberman and a Joycon charging controller not sure yet. So $425 plus tax.

This is all Canadian pricing. I have no games listed because I'm going to be going completely digital on the Switch. Also, local multiplayer is big in my household which is the reason for the additional controllers.

Neon Switch - $400
Neon Joy-Con Controllers - $100
Pro Controller x2 - $180
Charge Grip x2 - $80
Carry Case - $25
AC Adapter - $40
Compact Play Stand - $17
200GB Micro SD Card - $100

Total - $942
Trade-in - $550

My Cost - $392

Everything has already been pre-ordered and paid in full. All in all, I think I made out pretty well considering I spent less than the cost of the console and got all that!

Well, I've completed ordering everything I wanted for launch day today, with the Pro controller going up on Amazon. So now my Amazon order consists of:

Switch - $299
BoTW - $60
Charging Grip - $30
Pro Controller - $70

So about $460 for launch day.

Switch
Zelda BoTW
Travel case
AC adapter (for work)

So I guess $450ish

I'm holding off on another set of joycons or pro-controller until I know if I actually want them. I bought the pro controller for WiiU and barely used it.

Where did you trade? Did you get a Gamestop promo or something? I need to see if I can extra trade credit for my 3DS. I am still on the fence on trading my 3DS in though. :/

Just put my pre-order down
Console (grey)
Zelda special edition
Pro Controller

A really crap launch lineup. I wanna play something small but not what I want to invest in like Zelda.

Console = $300
Zelda = $50 (Amazon Prime plus some discounts)

Maybe charging grip on Day one? Might consider an indie game (2D Boy/Tomorow Corp. Compilation or Binding of Issac) or Bomberman. I know I'm waiting for the Pro Controller or an extra set of Joy Cons until Mario Kart comes out, I'm going to need extra controllers until then.

So day one possibly $400.

Still pondering whether or not to get Bomberman, some neon JoyCons ans/or the pro controller.

I very much want one but with pre-orders gone, limited stock and scalpers a-plenty, I don't forsee coming across one until September, if not next years. That's the biggest killer of my hype. What's the point to highly anticipate something you won't be able to acquire anyway?

I'll probably try to wrap up my Wii U library in the process...in terms of both finishing games and picking up the last few games I want to purchase.

I also really want an AVS so I can properly dip my toes back into the pool that is the NES and Famicom library.
