You know I've been meaning to ask, can a post post-apocalyptic situation change how a human looks and talks?*snip*

It's a girl.
Why we gonna pretend otherwise
Looks - probably notYou know I've been meaning to ask, can a post post-apocalyptic situation change how a human looks and talks?

Can a drastic change in diet or food source contribute to change in looks?Looks - probably not
Talks - absolutely
Yeah we still don't really know what caused the world to go darkI guess it depends on the kind of apocalypse. I'm fairly sure there would be some very strange looking folks if it was of the Nuclear variety and there was world wide long lasting fall out. All that radiation can't be good for your genes... or well you in general.
Giant robots just murder kill you in the regular physical sense, ain't fucking with your DNA.... we think....
Eh, I'll pass on this game. Literally zero interest.

I'd give Bethesda that award.
Could be. Doesn't really hamper my excitement nor do I dislike the design.
I feel that Fallout 4 was better in this regard. Bioware just inched out over Bethesda tho.

Someone's gonna have to explain why it doesn't look like a real person's head?

Ah sorry for the late response, went to sleep and this thread got buried. Hmm two followup questions if I may; is there any way for this process of changing how a human drastically looks to be accelerated? Would a severe decrease in population i.e near extinction levels contribute to that? If I recall correctly lions had to resort to inbreeding after a catastrophic event (was it after the ice age?)*snip*
This game might be the surprise GOTY

I dunno dude many people(well on gaf at least) want this game to fail even after the numerous glowing previews.Would it really be a surprise if that did happen? I mean, after all, a bunch of people are incredibly hyped for it after all.

They were wrong about re7, now let's see if horizon can keep the trend goingYeah, but people still have their doubts about it, as evidenced by the numerous 2017 disappointments threads, etc.

Yeah, I'm expecting a ~90 meta GotY candidate.
I won't be the type to lose my shit if that doesn't end up being the case though lol.
Just sharing my expectations! The signs are there but let's not jinx it.
Yep. Drastic phenotypic changes would take hundreds of thousands of years.Environmental pressures do affect evolution so its entirely possible that with enough time, humans would look different. Language absolutely would change and quickly. It may even become indistinguishable from its current form very fast.

Pretty much where I am atm.I REFUSE to get my hopes that high, for pretty much any game.
I've decided that I'll be happy and consider it a success if it gets an 80 or over on MC.
Pretty much where I am atm.
On one hand, if they really deliver at everything they've shown and the action-RPG aspect with a good story, it has def a 90+ (Universal Aclaim) potential.
But I'll be happy with an 80+ because it sounds very unlikely that in a post Skyrim/ Witcher 3 world a team with allegedly more limited means (budget/ team size) and experience in either Rpg or open world games would succeed that much.
But I sure hope so![]()
31st of january. Maybe a day after thatSo if that picture is of journalists/press, when are the previews supposed to be out?
Cool, thanks.31st of january. Maybe a day after that
It isn't a problem for me because the sky doesn't crash if my expectations aren't met. If it is a 80-85 meta game, I'm still going to buy it and enjoy it.I REFUSE to get my hopes that high, for pretty much any game.

If someone is not attracted to somebody, whats the problem? Why are they shallow for thisIf a girl looking like Aloy made moves on me, I'd be very flattered. Some of you guys are too shallow.

As for how she looks, I think she looks perfectly fine. She has really pretty eyes and those flaming red hair are like my kryptonite. I have to commend guerrilla for daring to deviate from the norm i.e not looking like a runaway model. They managed to strike a nice balance between an attractive person and strong one

I'm going to go with an 87. The Core combat is strong and graphically resonates with most people. Praise will be lavished on the enemy design. Some reviewers are going to complain about some repetitive gameplay or the lack of a hard lock on in melee combat though and that'll drag down the metascore.
I see no reason to think this won't be a very enjoyable game.
I'm no geneticist either, just a procrastinating idiot who's working toward his engineering degree*snip*
Just thought up another question; would a polluted or more artificial food source drastically affect human growth and maturity?
