Full range of Horizon Zero Dawn accessories and merchandise detailed

You seem salty af that games like Gravity Rush 2 don't get that kind of marketing.

Nah, I want Horizon to be good, I paid full price for it and Gravity Rush 2 same day.
Marketing budget no equal to Sony have confident on the product, I'm sure they are but not every case.
Just try to manage expectations.

Sony really try very hard to make Horizon happen.

I hope it happen.

That's because every showing of it so far has been received incredibly positively by press and consumers. They're capitalising on what people are excited for rather than forcing it down peoples throats.

Wonder why the collectors edition of the game is sold on out amazon. Is it supposed to be limited?

The clue is in the name "Collector's edition". If it was unlimited then there wouldn't be anything collectable about it.

I'm just saying I was expecting an art book, figure, and designs, which is great, because the art has been great from what I've seen and I like art books. The whole mugs, key chains and baseball caps is where I'm surprised, because the game hasn't even gone on sale yet. It certainly shows Sony is banking on the game being popular if they are producing much more than I expected far as merchandise and accessories.

Doesn't seem like they are producing anything really beyond the game. They are just licensing it out.

No idea why you're quoting me, they can advertise the game all they want, just stuff like a custom wallet, cap and what not come off as humorous to me.
The "Sony doesn't advertise their games" gets thrown out very often. I felt it was funny to see opposite reactions for once. Just a silly quip. I didn't mean to come off as hostile.

I have my expectations in check, thank you very much. Can you please explain me, how this is even in the slightest comparable to No Man's Sky? I doubt you can, that's why I find it weird that you brought that game up.

God I want this game so much, going back and forth between buying it full price at launch or waiting a few months since I know there'll be a sale/price drop eventually. x.x

This game actually looks really, really good. Even though I am a Zelda fan, I think this will probably be the TLOU of PS4. Of course, I could be wrong, and Guerrilla Games is certainly a weird studio to make it, but I hope its as good as I think its going to be.

I cant wait to buy it
in a couple of years when I finish my backlog

Because last time a game get similar marketing push from Sony was No man Sky.

There have been heavily marketed games like Watch Dogs which turned out shit. Then even when the sequel is a big improvement people don't want to pay full price for it since they've been burned before.

I think Sony is really confident in Horizon and I certainly don't expect it to be WD, but it's a fair warning to take nothing as a guarantee.

Cool statue, but looking at the price range on the Tri-Force website, it is gonna cost around 800-1000 dollars.

A little bit too hefty for me.

You already wrote that. Why assume, when big marketing is taking place, the game must have the quality of No Man's Sky?

Don't compare indie studios against first party triple a games, very different set up to marketing. Also, sorry. I really did not notice heavy marketing for NMS.

Best thing here is the Futurepress Guide because A German Spy is working on it and he worked on the BB guide that was insane quality.

I'm not saying this will be another no man sky, I'm just saying marketing budget doesn't guarantee quality.

What? Lol, no.

NMS had a big push at Sony conferences, and a small collector ed, but nothing like that.

UC4 would be the closest, but it's starting to look like they might go even stronger in some ways (merch).

I want that Painted Aloy Navy... Do they have any US retailers though? That website they have is Europe and holy shit the cost to get to ship to the US is expensive! More than the shirt itself!

Btw the way guys this is nothing new. After the reveal of the game they showed off some merch like the ThunderJaw and said they had plans to release and sell merch around the game.

Seems like a smart move for what could potentially be one of their biggest games this year. The timing is perfect.

When is the Super Bowl? Not this week but next week?

It would make sense to do one since the game will be launching that month. I just know SB spots are expensive.
